Top notch goodies and a delightful location to warm the hearts of organic lovin' folk all over. Hidden away, Home Grown Organics revels in obscurity, but those who venture, venture often.
Baked goods, bread, breakfast treats, produce and lots in between make it easy to get excited. I've been expanding my usual grocery route, and I must admit, it feels good to stop into places like Home Grown.
Good people, wholesome bites! Its fresh, yummy and a feel good experience all around. Of course I went for the pastries.... they did not disappoint.
The world is a good place. Home Grown Organics is a sure reminder of that! -

Who knew this was hidden amongst the neighbourhood. Growing up in this area, I am pleased to see this smaller places sprouting up.
We went in here to have a look, based on the reviews that I have read. I expected great atmosphere, great food and great people.
Bingo! This place is great, we went in on a Saturday morning.
Grabbed some bread, pastries, and eggs. This is a great place, and as said in a previous review, they will deliver. -

Home Grown Organic Food is one of the best options available for the healthy living crowd. What can be better than fresh produce delivered direct to your doorstep?
We used HGOF for a couple of winters when it became more difficult to find good produce in the grocery stores. Prices at HGOF were definitely reasonable, especially considering the care and attention given to each bin.
We did find that the produce spoiled much more quickly than conventional produce, but we chalked that up to the lack of pesticides and preservatives. Once we started making concrete plans for the produce, we started using it up much more quickly and the spoilage issue became a rarity.
We found that the bins from HGOF were super insofar as they pushed us to consider recipes that we may not have otherwise tried. Kale? We've got a recipe for that (now!).
If you value organic food, give Home Grown Organic Foods a whirl. In addition to home delivery, they also open a market on-site each week. -

When we first moved to Halifax, I had heard about Home Grown Organics. Problem was, I could never find it. Lucky me, finally a friend told me exactly where it is.
But first, let me tell you a little about HGOF, as it's lovingly called by those who use it. First, in all of Atlantic Canada, it's the only home delivery service of organic fruit, vegetables, dairy, eggs as well as frozen local free range, drug free meat and chicken, and a whole lot more.
The prices are more than reasonable and the variety of foods available is large -even in the winter. And you can order for delivery right on line - custom orders or in set boxes (you get to see exactly what's in the box before you order).
One thing I particularly love is when you go to the "shop" page you can actually see who the specific suppliers are. And if you're not really interested in home delivery, you can actually shop in their store Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So, seriously, what are you waiting for? -

I did it! I made it in and bought all that I desired!
2 croissants, 1 loaf of Boulangerie sourdough, a mango, a carton of local and organic eggs, apple cider, 2 apples, and green onions. All of this tasty, high quality food stuff for $21 - YAHOO.
Saturday morning is the time to go. I went in around 10am and was able to score fresh pastries as well as all of the other aforementioned treats. I implore you to head in! This is a great community resource and is FAR more satisfying than going to the grocery store.Listed in: The Essentials: Grocery…

it is winter and hard to find good things to eat in the grocery store. home grown has a good selection of local apples, squashes, potatoes, parsnips, and also some seasonal things that have been flown in. they have a small section in the back selling meats, canned foods, and jams, vinegars, etc.
