Stayed at the hotel during the past week. Excellent location with easy access.  loved the team and services they provided. Made my stay really easy. thank you - i will be back.

Probably the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in several.  Rooms are big and comfortable, clean, and the hotel is in a good location.  Service is efficient at the front desk.  Stay the hell away from the restaurant inside, but all other aspects of this hotel are a-ok!

We chose this location mostly out of location. It's right in downtown Toronto and not too far from the sights we wanted to see.

You might miss this place while driving since it's tucked in between the other buildings. There's one driveway to get in from Bloor Street and the way the building was constructed was not very convenient for visitors. One, parking is all the way in the back and you drive down this ramp to really tight spots. Two, there's not much covering outside, so even if you park outside their main entrance (which doesn't face the street) to load and unload, if you're caught on a rainy day, you'd get soaked.

Other than that, pluses include free wifi (must ask hotel for password) and our super close proximity to the university across the street and walking distance to ROM.

For the price (~$107 a night), this hotel was great. Super convenient. Nothing fancy, but provided all the basics:

    Clean towels
Toiletries (Bath & Body Works products)
    Iron/ironing board
    Fitness center

    Tips/Highlights:

Ask for a room facing one of the alleys or the back street to avoid street noise (but you may not get a view)
    .
Ask for internet password to access free in-room WiFi.

Occasionally, the hotel will partner with the Royal Ontario Museum to provide guests with discounted prices on special exhibitions (i.e., Terracota Warriors).

Pub downstairs open from 7-2 am. You can also order room service from them.

Over Easy -- a block or two west of the hotel, a good/cheap place for breakfast and lunch.

St. George subway station is one block away; can access two subway lines, including the one that goes to the airport.

Free copy of The Globe & Mail (Canada's main newspaper) at your door in the morning.

In close proximity to: University of Toronto, Bata Shoe Museum, Gardiner Museum, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma

    Overall, really good experience!

We got this hotel through a Priceline deal.

You are only here for one thing: the location.

The hotel is clean but not welcoming - the entrance is through a tiny alleyway off of Bloor St (note this is also where the parking is.).
Decor is slightly outdated, however comfortable enough.
The air is super dry here, it was like being in Morocco in July.
Staff were friendly, although the front lobby was a bit slushy.
Free internet was great, but it was extremely spotty.
    Parking is a hefty $22 a day.
Doors are slightly thin - although the rooms by the elevator are recessed with a small hallway to avoid noise, you can still hear all the passersby.

Bottom line: if you just need a place to sleep and not too fussy, this is the place for you.

This would personally not have been my first choice for a hotel stay...but...my company has a corporate rate and this is where I spent 2 whole weeks!! At first when I scoped it out on line I was a bit concerned but once I arrived I was pleasantly surprised!

Now, to be honest..it's not like a Holiday Inn is ever gonna be 5 star...but ...it was clean...the staff were super nice..and the location is awesome! You are right on Bloor Street just steps away from lots of great attractions including th ROM and all the great shopping on Bloor. The Annex neighborhood is also right near by and has a lot of great little shops, pubs and much more. There are tons of subway stations around so nothing is ever too far to get to.

I do have a warning though...if you are having an extended stay such as myself...then beware the Fox and Fiddle restaurant in the hotel...room service becomes way too convenient and trust me..4 days of Fox and Fiddle food is not going to sit well with your body...I know this from experience...'nuff said....there are sooo many great eating options in the neighborhood so I suggest you explore!

Also..after the first week the maid sorta gave up on cleaning my room..they would make the bed but that was about it......I guess I over stayed my welcome???

I am visiting the University of Toronto and this is the best location for that purpose.  The room itself is clean and quiet and equipped as you would expect for a holiday in: nothing fancy but good enough for a few days.  I stayed at the Courtyard Inn last time and it was nicer, but further, and for all the time I actually spend in a hotel, all that really matters is that the bed is sleepable, the shower is functional, and it conveniently located to where I need to go and some cafes open late.  So this hotel satisfies that without excelling in any dimension.

The parking is confusing and there are no signs.  Go to the back of the building via the tiny alley next to the foot entrance and then drive down the ramp on your left towards the wall.  The wall will lift when you stop in front of it.  Then park...and remember your license plate number because you'll need that at check in.  There are no signs for any of this.  There aren't even signs on the garage that it is for Holiday Inn.  But that's how it works.  And it costs $22 per day.

We went to this hotel in July because we choose to take a chance with http://Hotwire.com. It was clean, but they are a little bit cheap. Internet connexion didn't work the first night so the desk office transfered our call to the Internet company... The last morning, we received a bill of 0,85$ for that call. We spoke to the person at the office and it was okay... but it wasn't pleasant to received the bill because we had problems with an included service!

Anyway... They are in front of the Bata Shoe Museum and near the ROM. You don't have to support the downtown noises during the night. So, in general, it was OK.

There was MOULD growing in the TOILET! And a few other hints that housekeeping oversight was a bit lax. On earlier trips I didn't find such problems. Yuk.

That said, the location is great if you are visiting the University and museums. They even sell a reduced-price ticket to the ROM -- which means you don't have to wait in line when you get there. The restaurant owned by the hotel is blah, but an independent coffee shop at the front of the building has nice breakfast and lunch options.

All Holiday Inns are equal. Some are just more equal than others (Sorry, Mr. Orwell! You deserve better). This HI has the sort of quirky character that most run-of-the-mill ones do not. It has an English-y pub/restaurant inside, it is w/in walking distance to a Bahá'í  Center AND the Bata shoe museum (how often does that happen?), and it is pretty much on the UofT campus. The downstairs computers were OK, as was the WiFi in the rooms, the staff were helpful about places of interest and provided city and metro maps, the central heating kept me warm at night, and in general things were pretty fine. I would go back, but I'd prefer to stay with friends!

I had a good time with it last time I was in Canada. Stayed here with the fam, we got a nice discount rate too that weekend. It was mad cheap for like 3 nights.  I personally really liked the area and would stay here again if I had to.  It was right in downtown area, easy to walk and get to many spots around.

We stayed at Holiday Inn in Toronto because it was more affordable than most other options. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Service was friendly & respectful. This hotel is just 2 blocks from Royal Toronto Museum &  St. George as well as Museum subway stations . There is Internet in the lobby but beware it is very slow.

As Holiday Inn's go this place is a little above average. On the plus side the bathrooms are nice with granite countertops and modern faucets. Also this place is located a couple of blocks from the metro on Bloor street near all the high end shops. Finally on the plus side this place is reasonable compared to most of the other hotels on Bloor. On the negative side the rooms are a little bit run of the mill and some of the rooms need updating. Last time I stayed here I got a room with a flat screen. Second time around I was not as lucky! The room service is served courtesy of the Firkin bar which is located on the ground level. If you like British food then you will be in paradise. I would not recommend for those with a more sophisticated pallet!
