Review is for events only, did not stay here.

Had an event here, was pretty impressed
    ROOM
Was very nice, didn't have the closed in ballroom feeling.
Smart layout of the hotel.  Would not have a wedding here,
and not sure a rehearsal dinner, but anything else would be good.
    FOOD
    Not great, but not bad.
    SERVICE
Pretty good.  Attentive, and easy to deal with
    PRICE
Very good.  Quite reasonable I must say.

Overall worth checking out.  The lobby and bar areas were
very well done.  Good investment whoever built them.

I stayed here recently because it was the venue for my friend's wedding, and I had an OK experience.

Check-in was awkward, as I arrived an hour early and they didn't have anything ready. So I sat with my thumb up my ass in the lobby for an hour and could have sworn the old guy leering at me thought I was a hooker.

My room turned out to be a suite. Thinking they made a mistake, I said I was just attending the wedding, I was not in the wedding party; I only paid for a regular room when I made the reservation. They said that's what I was put down for by my friend, and it didn't cost me extra. Awwww.

The room was big for one person (Yes, I CHOSE not to take anyone to this wedding, as I was running off to Plano later). I agree with David S. that the furnishings looked a little dated, but I didn't mind. All I wanted was a closet for my clothes and a fridge for my beer. I can't remember if I was able to connect to the Internet but I wasn't there long enough to care.

The ballroom was a pretty good size, and the food on the buffet was typical wedding/hotel fare. All around good facilities.

I came back and passed out after a rather extensive night of revelry and check out was no problem. If for some unforeseeable reason I'd need to be out in Richardson for a night I might give it another shot...

    Did have:
*big Texan roach in room (I'm from Chicago so I've seen roaches b4 but not this big).

I stayed here recently on a drive from Houston to Ft. Smith, AR. I ended up in one of the Executive Level rooms, and thought the place was very nice. Lots of little extras in the room (although they could use a little updating on the technology- the TV was a tube TV and their wifi was very slow). I was also impressed by the very reasonable prices in the hotel bar and the fact that you get a few free drinks just for staying there. The price of the room was excellent. The best thing about this place is its proximity to quite a few good restaurants. I'll definitely be staying here again when I pass through the Dallas area.

I used to stay here years ago, and never had a problem.  More recently, I have stayed here and have had problems each time I have stayed.  Finally, after giving them several chances to improve, and they didn't, I quit staying there altogether.

The rooms are rather dated and cramped.  Internet is slow, but at least works most of the time.  I like the new fitness room with the exception of the treadmills (2).  They were broken on 4 stays there, with the belts slipping, the machines just shutting off abruptly at times, or simply not turning on at all.  Each time I informed them, only to have them tell me they would be fixed right away.  When I returned, they hadn't been fixed, informed the front desk, and they said it would be taken care of right away (again).  The next time I returned to the area, I even called ahead to verify that the problem was fixed.  I was assured it was, only to arrive and find out I was lied to yet again.  The last time I stayed there, it was the only hotel with rooms left (wonder why) in that area, so I stayed.  I didn't get a chance to use the fitness center, but then had problems in my room.  The TV kept going back to the intro screen every 5-10 minutes (which they never fixed) and there was a cricket in my room which drove me insane.  I called the desk, they sent a maintenance person up, who found my problem humorous.

I will never stay at this hotel again, even if I have to drive another 10-20 miles daily to my company's headquarters.  The annoyance is just not worth it.

An update - the LEFT treadmill has a track that feels like it slips now and again.  I discovered that on the 3rd morning.  The one on the RIGHT does not have that problem.  Also, it wasn't as hot in the room that morning.

I used to attend catered meetings here.  The food is good and the facilities can accommodate pretty much whatever you need.  Haven't seen the rooms though.
