I've stayed at this hotel a few times before, and if I had been a Yelper at that time, perhaps they would have received a slightly higher rating from me. That being said, here's the run down:

    The Good:
-Location is great. Only a 2 minute walk from Elgin St., and a 10 minute walk to Parliament Hill.
-If you manage to get onto any floor above 10, you'll enjoy a fabulous view of the downtown.
-The restaurant serves very good food for an extremely reasonable price
-Generally, the hotel is clean, and the staff (with the exception of 2.. read "The Bad") are very good in making you feel welcome

    The Bad:

Well, this deserves a bit of a rant...

As a Priority Club loyalist, I know my Holiday Inns and how they function. Within an hour of checking in, I had a member of the cleaning staff step into my room without knocking - as I was changing. She simply swiped her card, and I immediately heard a "WOOPS!" and then she shut my door. I could have gotten over that if it weren't for the events of the next day..

Check-out time is self-explanatory. I've never had a member of the cleaning staff attempt to come into my room before that time. On 3 separate occasions the morning of my departure, I had the same staff member attempt to come into my room to clean it out. The third time she responded/yelled through the door with, "Well, when exactly are you leaving then?" I have to say I've never felt so pushed out of a hotel before - not to mention almost an hour and a half before check-out time.

the rooms are very small to start, and I mean I paid New York prices to stay! expected a bit better.  the shower drained really slowly and black sediment came out of the drain while mid shower!   the view is ok.  the toilet was horrible! if you need to take a deuce do so elsewhere as it wont go down and might clog the toilet.  the bed was comfortable, but the A/C didnt work properly. had it set @ 50f on full blast, and the coolest it got was 74f. not fun in a heat wave.  the garage is very small, if you drive a SUV, Truck, or Van park elsewhere it has a height limit of 5' 8".   The elevators in this place are terrifying!  the whole thing shakes, and the roof of the car, shakes separately . not fun at all.  @ $165 a night, I will not be coming back. Can find bigger rooms with better plumbing for cheaper.
only good thing is the location. walking distance to lots of things.  and free wifi.

Holiday inn brunch for Mother's day!

Reservations in advance are a must, as they get booked quickly.

The staff is extremely polite, and seat you right away. They will ask if you want anything to drink.

The food isn't the highest quality, but it's what you'd expect though from a Holiday Inn. They have simple breakfast food, and lots of it!

Not TOO many choices, but enough. Good price for brunch, too.

They have pretty center piece arrangements (if you are into aesthetic aspects of restaurants, like me), which are fresh flowers in square water bowls.

I left full and satisfied! Yum!
