This is a suite hotel.
The town of Barrie is a commuter town for the city of Toronto. It is 45 minutes north of the 401/400 interchange in Toronto.
When I checked in I received my complementary granola bar and bottle of water(oh man I forgot I left it in the fridge). The people greeting were very friendly and helpful with advise on where to dine(see my other reviews).
My room was clean(I used the black light test). The covers were turned over and chocolate on the pillow(yes, really). I had a "junior" suite with a fridge,microwave,coffee maker, a separate room with a sofa, desk. This room was very clean as well. The room was quiet, no noise from other hotel guests. Prices were reasonable but there are other discounts available.
I am sure this is typical Holiday Inn rooms, but I was satisfied with this visit.
