I'll keep this short, but not that sweet. They have a huge selection of equipment, clothing and accessories but their customer service SUCKS. I've gone twice looking for bags and both times no one could be bothered to help. On both occasions the store was empty and I was left struggling to reach for bags on the top rack. I'd rather take my business elsewhere.

There aren't many options for skateboard or BMX shops around Toronto so if you're into those sorts of things and stuck in the city then you're likely to end up here. I was not particular impressed with the selection or choice of products (very mainstream withing the alt sport community) but it's a sizable store with lots of copies of the same thing over and over. So if they carry the type of thing you're looking for they are likely to have it in stock. The prices are MUCH higher than I expected (also consider that I'm from the US and so it's about double the price).
You can buy a prebuilt basic skateboard for $100. You can get a decent skateboard built from a blank deck, brand-name trucks, ABEC 7 bearings, etc. for $150. Again that seems pretty high to me, but I don't know if it's any cheaper elsewhere in Toronto.
I liked the low-rider bike stuff and always wanted to build one of these bikes. So if I do that I might come here for some choice parts at bloated prices for the pleasure of browsing them in person. If you've got the money to burn you could put together a really sweet BMX from the parts they stock, but the assembled bike they were selling did not interest me at all. Anyway it might be worth a trip if you're looking to replace your wheels and are thinking to get a set to match your metallic blue frame or whatever. But if you're looking for a specialty part or anything unusual don't expect to find it here...they can probably order anything. -

This place has to be the worst transformation of greed. The shop used to be in the east end. Specializing in the skateboard goods and etc. Service and the pricing is horrible at Hogtown. This place will always have shitty shoes for 100. They will all price their boards in the range of $80 and above. If you want to find good stuff, if you are in the neighbourhood; please go to ADRIFT. They have everything that you want and plus they always have stuff on clearance.

Hogtown is best when you've got some time to browse. Though clothing racks are stuffed full, everything kind of looks the same and not much thought is put into style (especially girl's stuff). For all I know the shop got some freebee handouts and then sell it at their store, it's one logo tee after the next, not really the kind of shirts I'd pay $40 to wear. Once in awhile there are good deals to be had on outerwear (if you look closely at every piece) but if you're buying gear and can wait until the Snowboard show in October (where Hogtown has a booth) I'd recommend it.

Hogtown is a bit snobby about it's bikes. No hippy joint, it's all about the BMX here. Usually the guys that work in the back are stuck up with me because I'm not a real rider (i.e. not a boy, have all my ribs in tact and I'm not a gear head), but every now and then I get a nice guy who takes pity on me and helps fill my tires, tune me up and tell me where I can get pink accessories for cheap in the city. They have the best sales on BMX and if you're still holding on to the dream, and you haven't switched to fixed year yet, that's worth a little 'tude.

I went to Hogtown to get my Flow bindings, Burton mittens and goggles. The person helping me could not have been more helpful. I've been to many snowboard shops and always get great service from all of them, but I particularly enjoyed my experience at this store.
