Review from Johnny L.
Nice little spot for Chinese food in the heart of what seems to be Windsor's Chinatown.
Hing Lung is a nice little place located next to Hoi Sushi and has a variety of chinese food (both authentic looking and Westernized). Seems like a place where you can get some Chinese BBQ or General Tso's Chicken if you wanted. The menu is huge and the prices are good for what you get. The service is always friendly and the wait isn't bad.
The lunch specials looked very promising. Egg rolls, soup, and fried rice with your choice of entree for around $6. Not bad at all. They have the Westernized staples such as Lo Mein, Chop Suey, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. But they also have things such as Hot Pot and Congee (you asians know what I'm talking about).
We came here to try the Chinese BBQ. Me and my buddy got the roast pork and roast duck on rice. ($7) The roast duck was excellent but there could have been more pieces. The skin wasn't as crispy as I would like it to be either. The roast pork had wonderfully crunchy and crisp skin (like a fresh cooked pork rind), but some pieces had way too much fat (didn't stop me from eating it though....) The taste was great and there was no shortage of rice. It always comes on a bed of nappa cabbage as well.
Overall, the place seems decent enough. I will go across the street for my chinese bbq needs, but this place has such a large menu that it would be wrong to look past it. You can get pretty much anything you'd expect from a chinese place, here. Definitely worth a shot.Listed in: Mun Ching in Windsor
