Very good sushi place.  No long story here, the service is always impeccable, the food is always fresh and consistent.  They have a wide range of selection for sushi, sashimi, nigiri, bento boxes etc etc.  I've had pretty much everything on the menu and I keep on going back trying the more adventurous sushi.

Bottom line is, it's a very good, competitive prices, small but cozy, real Japanese sushi place.  And friendly.

Hime is pretty good. The atmosphere is nice. The menu is good. I don't know, just not really blown away. The prices are a bit higher than other sushi places in the area and for vegetarian options it just doesn't make enough of a difference for me.

I like it but I don't ever elect to go there on my own.

I was craving for Sushi tonight and couldn't decide which one I should try for.... Hime or Sushiyama?  We walked by and checked out both of it then decided to go to Hime.  Glad that we picked the right one!

The food is so good for such reasonable price and the service is excellent as well. Everything is high in quality and very tasty!!  Of coz, we ordered quite a bit of food for 3.

Ankake Tofu - Deep fried tofu with Japanese mushroom on top (it's so crispy outside, soft and smooth inside.  But, the crystal sauce was sweet)
Ebi Mayo - deep fried prawns with yams in house salad sauce (the presentation was good and prawns was tasty)
Okonomiyaki - Japanese style seafood and veggie pancakes (Delicious)
Ika Kara Age - Japanese style calamari (it was ok, just a bit dry)

Sockeye Sushimi - It was fresh and tasty (but not enough varieties of sushmi)

Spicy chopped scallops cone - Was big and spicy, the seaweed still quite crunchy.
    Sushi - All were good.
Dragon Roll - California Roll on top of Eel with avocado (Nice and yummy)

This place is always spot on with yummy sushi! When the line is long at Toshi's head to Hime sushi for a simple, but fresh sushi dinner. They even have some pretty awesome GF rolls. I did however bring my own soy sauce.

I go to school at VCC so I love coming into Hime for a quick lunch. I didn't realize how popular this place was because you can't really see in from the window outside so it took me a while to gather the courage and walk in. Just wanted to say that it's really cool that the people who worked there are actually Japanese so it says a lot about the quality of their food.

I almost always order their chicken teriyaki donburi during my breaks because it comes out rather quickly and isn't very fussy. The price is very easy on my college-student wallet. Their teriyaki sauce is the sweetest and the portion size is perfect. I'm also a fan of their chicken karaage, ebi mayo, and salmon sashimi. They taste how they should. When I have time I like to indulge in their green tea ice cream.

Unlike most would-be Japanese establishments, Hime is clean and well lit and not at all sketchy. And unlike the high-end Japanese tapas, they don't yell at you when you come in. When I sit at the bar I like to listen to the sushi chefs banter in Japanese - it kind of adds to the experience. Their servers are very sweet girls and they never pressure you leave.

Not the best sushi in Vancouver, but they're consistently good. The service and quality of the fish/rice/etc is always good, I have never been disappointed. Also, one of my favourite plates of tuna tataki in the city.

Hime (hee-MAY) is a nice little neighborhood sushi joint in Mount Pleasant. To my surprise, the proprietor and employees were all Japanese, and right or wrong, that usually gives me the impression that the fish will be of superior quality.

The sashimi appetizer is only seven bucks and gets you seven pieces of fish: two tuna, three salmon, and two slivers of red snapper. The tuna was a bit mushy, I almost mistook the snapper for ginger due to the thin cut, but the salmon was excellent. You could tell that it wasn't some farm raised dreck.

The hamachi was buttery and firm, as it should be. Mercury poisoning be damned, I could eat this fish all day.

My only beef is that the restaurant is quite small. There are only four usable seats at the counter and the five two-seat tables are about eight inches apart. I almost put my ass into someone's plate as I was leaving, and I spent my dinner listening to two women talk bad about their men.

    Overall, a nice dining experience.

Checked out Hime due to the Yelp reviews, and was NOT disappointed!
Free tea first off, which should be a standard I think. Is only tea :) Got pretty busy in there, also another good sign (there's nothing worse than being in a completely empty restaurant).

I ordered avocado maki rolls and a chicken don. Both arrived promptly and were *delicious*. The avocado was so creamy! And the chicken don was just the right size portion so I didn't feel like I'd over eaten, and unable to fit out the door. Best of all, free chocolate when the bill arrived, to feed the sudden sweet craving :D

Will definitely be returning, cheers Yelp!

This place is great. We went last night as it was getting late, we were tired from work and too lazy to make dinner, and as soon as my boyfriend mentioned sushi I could think of nothing else.

We were originally thinking of going to Sushiyama down the street, but I remembered some friends had recommended Hime and decided to give it a try. Glad we did! It's a cute, cozy Japanese joint with great sushi and friendly waitstaff. We ordered a bunch of different rolls and all were excellent with delicious fresh fish. The waitress was accommodating when we wanted to see the menu again and order a couple more rolls -- I told you we were hungry!

Only a couple things would have improved the experience. I'm used to sushi restaurants where your cup of tea is never empty, and considering the size of the place I'm a little surprised that Hime couldn't accomplish that. Oh well.

The other issue was that there was a bit of a mix up with our second order of food and the sushi chef had to be told again what we had ordered, so it took much longer than we had expected. Everybody was nice about it, though, and we ended up staying after they were supposed to close because of it, but we never felt rushed. Giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one because otherwise I had a great time here!

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet.  I LOVE Hime sushi.  So flavourful, so fresh, so delicious (I couldn't come up with another word that started with F).  They're sort of hidden between a Starbucks and the Rhizome Cafe and their windows don't really let you see inside the store, making it a bit sketchy.  My coworkers raved about the sushi so I decided to check it out a while back and it was the best decision yet.

The spicy tuna is actually spicy.  I love their ebi mayo.  Its really crispy with a great batter to shrimp to mayo ratio.  The sashimi is fresh and tasty.  I enjoyed their unagi don - I only wished there was more rice.

I am a big fan for sure.  They're fast with their orders and take out with them is a breeze.  They have tons of combos and lunch specials available as well as party platters.

On the recommend of a friend I was told that I needed to check out the new Hime (pronounced HE-MAY) restaurant on Broadway.  So on a Saturday night flying solo I decided it was the perfect time to go.  I walked in and was pleasantly surprised by the hip modern approach to the restaurant. Not your typical sushi joint for sure.   so here is what I ordered.

Paradise role- a California style role with salmon and mango wrapped around the outside D-LISH!

Crunch role- basic role with tempura drippings wrapped in rice with a jacket of nori

Vegetable role- the freshest vegetable I have ever had inside a role

While I waited for my order to come through  I was watching the chefs prepare other dishes and everything looked amazing.  the level of detail they took in the presentation is what is gonna bring me back to Hime next time for the dine in experience.

Sashimi prices are pretty good  ($6 for 5 pieces of salmon) and the slices are generous. The $9 nabeyaki udon was tasty, hot, and teeming with toppings.

Should've been 4 stars based on the food, but service imploded into nonexistence when the restaurant got really busy. I think one waitress thought the other was handling the check so it took ten minutes to pay our tab.

i go here for lunch take-out all the time. The food is VERY fresh, never been dissapointed. They have brown rice and wild salmon options too (although this can get pricey). Otherwise prices are reasonable.

The place is brand new, very clean and fresh. The staff is very friendly, I love that everyone says bye to you as you leave, including all the sushi chefs.

Love going into this place. I've been there a few times for lunch. All the Staff are welcoming and smiley. The food is so fresh, tasty and the dishes are presented very nicely. The service is fast and the price is right, too! The Crunch Munch roll is by far my favourite. Yum!

Service fell apart at the end of our visit, sadly.  This little gem gets busy, even on Monday nights where most restaurants would kill for some tables.  Hime must be popular because of their fresh sushi and sashimi, but other menu items, like their nabeyaki udon, are delicious.  Baby girl entertained people slurping up her udon.  Tables are close together, so this isn't the best place if you want privacy or romance.

They also prepare their sushi with brown or black rice for an extra $2.50, if you want.  I ordered one roll to go with black rice, but sadly it was right when they got busy and they didn't prepare it with the black rice.  The table next to us ordered several rolls with black rice and they all looked great, though the rice looks more purple and could potentially put sushi virgins off.  The food was excellent, though, even with the service blip so we'd go again next time we are in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.

I decided to check this place out the other day because its in the neighbourhood.  I really liked that they have the brown or black (looks purple) rice available for $1.50 extra.  I ordered the Paradise roll which is a california roll with salmon and mango on top with the black rice.  It was yummy but I found the prices here a bit high, the roll was $8.95 + the $1.50 for black rice so thats a $10.50 roll, and you obviously need more than that to feed one person.  The quality of the sushi is very good though and it seems very authentic inside with the sushi bar and everything, its fancier than other sushi places i've been in around here, it would probably be good for a date!

One of my favorite comfort food restaurants, Hime has a great selection of Japanese food, including a wide variety of sushi.  Their house special rolls are what I particularly look forward to, they put new twists on typical sushi mainstays.  The service is generally pretty good but sometimes a bit slow, that's the only knock I have on the place.
