The wonderful staff makes this place work. We lucked out right at (early) check in when Gordon told us that, while they had a room ready for us, if we waited another two hours until regular check in he could get us one with a much better view. We left, got some food, and when we came back he had left for the day -- but had already hooked us up! Somehow (I still don't know how), they knew it was our honeymoon and put chocolate strawberries in our room, too. Wow.

All this for a totally awesome competitive(ish) rate for Whistler.

Oh, and the Concierge desk is full of talented people at all hours. Can't say enough good things about 'em -- great suggestions and they know their stuff... and we were looking for pretty random things, like "steak restaurants that also serve chicken and aren't full of stuffy rich people."

I was even impressed with their ability to handle a crisis. The fire alarm went off one morning while we were there -- it is LOUD -- but within two minutes the manager came on an intercom and told us everything was fine and that the elevators would return to service shortly. He also apologized. That's the kind of thing you'd expect, of course, but I've been to plenty of hotels (and office buildings, and subway platforms) where the fire alarm is ignored and eventually silenced with no word on what's going on. These guys get it on all levels-- great work.

(and the hotel is close to lifts, restaurants, shopping, etc... really can't get a more perfect location in Whistler. If you're on the fence about this hotel, get off of it! The lobby is nice but not huge, the hotel restaurant is kind of empty and I never ate there, but the bar was always full of people who seemed to be happy to be there! Also they have a great gym and nice outdoor pool.)

Bad service as a Hilton hotel. They don't even send bandaid to my room and asking the guests to go downstairs to get it themselves.

They also charged my stay on the wrong date (a month prior to my booking) as a penalty without notifying me at all. They charged more than my booking price.

Horrible experience in this Hilton !!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights and we are Hilton Honors member.  We were upgraded to a junior suite which was wonderful.
    Pros:
    - great location
    - FREE Wifi
    - spacious suite with full kitchen
    - friendly and helpful staff.
    - great heated swimming pool
    - great sauna + whirlpool
    - room came with a working fireplace with a complimentary log for each day.  Any additional log will cost you $5
    - good continental breakfast (which was complimentary for us)
    Cons:
    - place is starting to show its age in terms of decor although still very clean
    - noisy A/C heating unit in room.  It's placed right next to the bed so it is a bit annoying the first night or so.

Overall, I thought this was a great place to stay in Whistler.  It is about 5 minutes from the gondola and Kids school.  It directly accesses the Village where tons of restaurant choices are available.

Location+space make the Hilton a solid 4-star experience. The service is very attentive, making your stay easy and convenient. Our room was large and comfortable with a full kitchen. If you get breakfast vouchers then you'll get the basic continental breakfast but I would not advise paying full price for it.

All that aside, the hotel itself is above Hilton standards and I was actually more impressed with this hotel than the Westin. Check-out was a breeze, ski valet is complimentary and in less than 5 minutes you are in line for the gondola.

This place is close to the gondola:)

They have generous pool, jacuzzi (indoor & out), and sauna with h2o.
Very cozy fireplace nooks with lounge pieces strategically placed throughout  main floor.
Decadent rooms with pretty kitchenettes. Good heater for drying stuff.

I wish I could give this hotel 10 stars!

We've been traveling to Whistler for the past six years and with the exception of one year, we've stayed here.
    - Terrific staff (did I say terrific? I meant to say terrific/exceptional staff!)
    - Great food and bar.
    - An unusual spa - but the Javanese massage is 100 times better than any hotel massage I've had.
    - Great concierge staff.
    - Rooms are well appointed and very spacious for Whistler.
    - Close to everything (especially the Gondola/lifts).
    Zero complaints...

Then this year I was married in Whistler on 12/26...the hotel pulled out all the stops to make it special....room was decorated (tastefully), special requests were catered to and staff congratulated us at every turn.  I'd have to single out Tim Koshul and Hilary Owen-Mold (hope I'm not mis-spelling) for their efforts.

Stay here, trust me..it's the best there is in Whistler!

I stayed at this hotel on New Year's 09 - and I was a little disappointed in the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa.  Nothing was overly bad, but nothing was overly great either.

Our room was Very average.  I liked the bathroom, which had a huge soaker jacuzzi tub, and the hotel provides hotel-use robes and slippers, which was nice.

The room also had a fireplace at the end of the bed, which was cool.  But the rest of the room was very bland in my opinion.  Definitely not 'stand out' or very luxurious.  Not that I was expecting a whole lot from a Hilton hotel - which is very 'middle of the road' in terms of price, etc.

We also used the Spa during our stay, which was a nice massage, but it is really tiny and again - lacking anything Impressive.

The lobby of this hotel is practically non-existent, with only a few chairs around a small fireplace.  The service at the front counter was actually really good, as well as the room service breakfast was quite good.

It's not that I wouldn't recommend this hotel, or that I disliked it.  But to me, it is just a 3-star "A-OK" kinda place.

Centrally located in the heart of Whistler Village and just steps from the ski lift, Hilton offered wonderful accommodations for our recent ski trip.

The room was large, clean, and provided a fully furnished kitchen.  If staying with a large group, this would be a perfect solution.  In addition to the bed, the sofa folded out into a queen-sized bed.

My only complaint would be the heating/cooling system in the room which was NOISY.  The first night I didn't get much sleep because it kept me awake.  The next night I turned it off completely.

The hotel is located right in Whistler village where everything is - restaurants, bars, shops.  The chair lifts and gondolas to both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains are just steps away.

Our check-in experience with an attentive and friendly clerk was a joy.  Being a HHonors member definitely helps.  We received an upgrade to a junior suite with a kitchen and 2 breakfast vouchers for each day of our stay.  Parking a was little steep (at $30 a night for the Winter Pride weekend) but free internet with the upgrade made up for it.

Great location!  Right in the Whistler Village;  the gondola and ski school (if you need to sign up for lessons or tours) are just around the corner.  Good services, a lot better than the other Hilton hotels we'd experienced.  Our last stay here was during the winter Olympics, even with the crowd and chaos, the staff were able to attend to guests in a cool, calm, and collected way.

Top notch service, the staff is very friendly!  Great variety on continental breakfast and overall delicious full breakfast.  Great location.  Rooms are very spacious.  Gondolas are just steps from hotel.  Been visiting Whistler for 7 years now and would definitely consider staying again at this resort!!

Super warm pool with lots of space for swimming and lounging with poolside service. Better pool than the Westin!

You could not pick a better location for this hotel.  The Hilton is positioned perfectly for ski in/out and their facilities are really nice.  It is right at one end of the village with easy access to everything.  The amenities here are not the best.  The restaurant is mediocre and the pool/hot tub are very ordinary considering the rest of the hotel

We really enjoyed this hotel! It's clean, and well laid out and you can't get much closer to the lifts at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb.  The Spa is not overly fancy, but the Javanese massage was the best I ever had anywhere.  The little attention to detail at this hotel is worth noting.  All rooms have both wine and water glasses and a wine opener - shouldn't EVERY hotel have these! What a great thing!  The kitchen in the suites were small, but complete with everything you need - great for people traveling with kids.  There was even a water tray in the closet for wet ski books or skis, etc as well as lot of coat hooks on the wall to hang things.  As a result, the room never seemed cramped.  The closet is huge and includes cubbies as well as lots of room to hang things.  There are several good bars and restaurants on the property - we frequented the bar a bit! Interestingly, there are no 'do not disturb" signs, yet we were never bothered by housekeeping - they seemed to know when we were gone.  Really couldn't say more good things about the Hilton.  It's a great location for Whistler.
