This is my 2nd visit to the Hilton Bayfront. I came for a party last year and was invited to another party this year as "eye candy".

We were invited to a room for a pre-party on one of the top floors overlooking the bay. WOW, what a room!!! Baller status with an amazing view.

All the staff were nice and very accommodating during our dinner. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great. We were offered surf and turf, which was too salty and overcooked. The dessert definitely made up for the disappointing dinner, however.

Open foyer for us to play a couple hours of blackjack. Our dealers were awesome...

    3.5 stars.

The hotel is in a great location. It's right next door to the convention center and blocks from the Gaslamp district. While it may not be a comfortable walk in heels after a night out (but what is?), it was more than doable. If you don't feel like walking, you can get a cab just outside the main lobby.

Parking isn't exactly cheap, but it's not the most expensive for the area. We paid $27/day with in/out privileges which is extremely useful. You can access the hotel from their parking structure via a short bridge on the 3rd floor.

Staff was courteous and the overall look of the hotel was pretty nice. Modern and clean.

So why 3.5 stars instead of 4? It might seem a little picky, but I think it's some of the finer details that stick with you the longest. Not all rooms have a lovely view. There is some kind of Dole plant/processing center next door and it makes for a less than stellar view. The rooms are not the newest, but they're still clean and roomy. Some small gripes I had to deal with in our room: the little coffee maker they have set up for you wasn't completely refilled. There was only one coffee cup set for our use (instead of two) and there was still water in the coffee maker. Stale and slightly dirty looking water. I was unpacking our clothes into the drawers and found a lovely pool of water in one of them. Where the water came from, I have no idea...but you would think they'd check the drawers to make sure everything is cleaned out before someone checks in. Last gripe is very minor. I kept poking my feet on carpet tacks whenever I walked into the bathroom. They were in the area the carpet transitioned into tile and if I forgot to take a big step, I'd receive a sharp reminder.

Overall, a good hotel. Very convenient location with a Starbucks on the first floor for your morning wake up call. Good views of the water if you manage to get a room away from the Dole plant and they have deals that make it very cheap for the Gaslamp area. Decently sized rooms with a modern feel. If I was making a trip down to the SD Gaslamp area, this hotel would stay on my list of possible accommodations.

What a fancy hotel! The lobby made me feel completely out of place, since it was so high class, but all of the workers are very friendly. The rooms themselves were good, though nothing to write home about. The location is kind of out of the way if you want to explore the Gaslamp district, but great if you just want to stick around the convention center.

My only desire for this place is to have a shuttle that runs to the airport. I bet a ton of people would pay for that service.

Location, Location, Location.  For a business traveler not renting a car, convenience to food and bars while being close to the convention center is key.   I looked at the maps. I choose here.   It seemed like a good idea idea at the time.  And really this is a fail on my part for choosing well poorly, and not a fault of the actual hotel, however young grasshopper learn from my mistake.

The hotel, nice.  The workers, nice.  The entry way, nice.  The room, nice.  Nothing to write home about really.   It is a Hilton and they lived up to all the other Hilton's that I have stayed at.

The hotel really is tucked into a corner.  It is surrounding by shipping docks, the convention center, and a busy road.  There is a walk way over the road but it is hike to all the food/shop of SD not associated with the Hilton.  If I were doing it again, I would stay at the Marriot (on the other side of the convention center) or the Omni (across the street from the convention center).  From my point of view, doing a lot of walking past these hotels, they offered what the Hilton did not. easy access to everything.

Great place to stay.  Stayed at the hotel from Feb 29th through March 3rd for a medical conference.  I'm not 100% certain as to what the normal rates are, but for the package deal the rates I paid were $209 a night.  Considering I lived in Providence and Boston for over a decade the prices were much cheaper than many of the hotels in my region.

The hotel is situated nicely in what seems to be in the center of everything.  I was in close proximity to the seaport village, the Gaslamp district and to Horton Plaza.  I didn't go but the staff informed me that I was pretty close to the zoo (which I should have tried) and a few other amusement areas.

Room was clean, staff was great and very accommodating.  Unlike another review I thought the beds were fine.  There is a Starbucks located in the hotel which is a plus for me and the room service was tasty.

I'd go back again if I can.  Hopefully the conferences are held here more often!

    Stayed here on business (convention).

I have to say, I may switch to Marriott after several business stays with Hilton.  One of my colleagues is getting TWO FREE NIGHTS vis a vis Marriott Rewards for this trip.  I got TWO FREE BOTTLES OF WATER.

The hotel itself it nice, clean, comfy and the service is friendly.  But, I will say the logistics of getting to the Starbucks every morning is a little inconvenient.  You have to go outside - there is no entry from inside the hotel - and in March, it's kind of cold here.

Also, even though its "right next to the convention center", the convention center is 5 city blocks long and most of the events occur at the end opposite of the Hilton.  That necessitated some long walks following some long days on my feet.

Finally, at 10pm one night, I wanted a snack.  No such luck.  I had to either belly up to the bar at one of the crazy crowded restaurants for an appetizer, or walk all the way to Gaslamp (and who knows what the closest store is to pick up a snack).  I went to bed hungry.  But I did have my two bottles of bottled water!

Really nice hotel! Stayed here on business and had a really enjoyable experience.

Right on the water, steps from the Gaslamp quarter and the convention center, nice rooms and good room service.

This is a REALLY busy hotel...the lobby was all pandemonium all the time. Service was fantastic all the way through, even at peak busy periods.

All in all I highly recommend!

I'm rating this hotel 4 stars because it was clean, had great views, is within walking distance of the San Diego convention center and the historic Gaslamp District.

I did not give it 5 stars because it was not a great value for the price (and Wi-Fi was not free). I ordered sorbet from room service and it was $12 + $4 (in-room dining charge) + 20% gratuity and it wasn't even very good.

Pros: Onsite Starbucks, salt water pool, excellent views, comfortable beds and modern decor.

Cons: Expensive and a bit noisy with the trains nearby.

I gave this Hilton 3 starts only because it was clean and in a good location.  I really wanted to give them a 2!  I have to agree with a previous reviewer who expected more, especially considering the price.

I was here recently for a Convention.  The Hilton was the "convention hotel," but was sold out before I could get a room.  Since I was traveling alone, I preferred being at the assigned hotel, so I booked a room on my own for a rate that was $200 more per night than the other conventioneers.  While I was willing to live with that for the sake of convenience, I did expect that when I checked in, I would have at least been given a AAA or AARP discount. The desk clerk was young and appeared new on the job, so he went into the GM's offce to request if he could offer me some kind of discount. He slunk back in and said because they were full (with convention goers paying MUCH less than me), that they would not be able to offer me a reduction on my already exorbitant rate. The new guy did, however, give me a corner room since I was paying so much to stay there, so I did have a wonderful view.

Little did I know that because I Valet Parked my car upon arrival, I would be charged $40/night, even though my car never left the garage.

When I got to the room, I was shocked to learn there was no mini-bar or fridge at all.  The room was comfortable enough, but I've stayed in much better places for much less a night.  Additionally, it took until 7:00 for the hotel wireless and internet connections to be in working order.  That left me away from email and work for 4 hours.

I decided to stay in my first night and watch a movie on demand.  I paid the ridiculous charge or $16.95 and chose my movie.  During the two hour movie, the signal hesitated or stopped at least 15 times, and that was just from when I started keeping track.

The room service was good, but the pizza I ordered tasted like lavosh bread with a can of tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni.  To make things worse, the food we had at the convention banquet was downright awful.  I blame the planners of our event a little for the bad choice of short ribs for dinner.  However, the hotel should have convinced them that something more "normal"  should be considered.  In addition, my tablemate ordered a vegetarian meal, and waited almost 90 minutes to get her dinner.  That is inexcusable!  While the banquent manager was apologetic, there should have never been a delay between regular and vegetarian meals.

When I checked out, I told the desk clerk about my movie experience, and he did remove it from my bill.  When I told him I was less than impressed with my stay, he offered to buy me a cup of coffee at Starbuck's to try and make it better.  Really?  A cup of coffee???

If you go to San Deigo and absolutely insist being on the water, I suggest you choose the Marriott.  The Hilton doesn't seem to be too concerned about customer satisfaction.  Or better yet, stay at the Del Coronado and experience history and customer service.

I've stayed at the Hilton Bayfront on two different occasions, so this review combines my two experiences.

To start, I love this hotel. Location, location, location. How can you beat looking out over the bay from your room, to going out and within minutes enjoying the restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp.

Both times that I stayed here I had a great view of the water. It is such a gorgeous view that you will never want to close the shades. Bed was nice and comfy, which was perfect after long days and nights.

They have service down to an art. From them valet, to check in, to room service....it's all impeccable. Everyone is super friendly and they are very attentive.

After two great stays here, hands down, I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else if I needed a hotel in this part of San Diego!

I LOVVVVVE THIS PLACE! The hotel was hosting the Big Night NYE Gala here so my husband and I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful and its location is perfect near the water.

    The front desk:
A very nice lady. We drove for 8 hours from SJ and we wanted to check in early and sleep. We didn't even have to tell her our sorry, she just checked us in early at 10:00. Also, we didn't have to wait for the room to be cleaned.

    Valet:
Gary is awesome! He helped us with our bags in our room and he was very friendly. He gave us the code for the free wifi and a coupon for one of the restaurants in the hotel. Yay, Gary!

    The room:
We declined the upgrade for $25 but the room we got still had a  pleasant view of the Dole plant, the city, and a little bit of the Coronado bridge. Not bad at all and very spacious. The bed is tremendously comfortable and the pillows are supremely soft... it was so hard to get out of bed.

    Gym:
It's filled with so much gym stuff. Each machine (like the treadmill) had a TV so it was fun to watch Food Network while I jogged my ass off, and a towel ready for you to use. They have weights, mats, balls, etc. They have a free water machine and cold towels inside a towel fridge (?). The gym is very clean, very spacious, and you can kind of see the view outside. The windows are tinted, though, unlike what they show you in the hotel website.

    Housekeeping:
Out of 3 nights, they only cleaned the room once. We did have the Do Not Disturb sign on the door until night time. We had to call them to remind them to clean the room and no one still came. But then I saw the cleaning lady in the other room and she finally cleaned our room. I'll still give them 5 stars, though. When we needed towels and other things, they quickly dropped off the stuff in our room.

    Big Night NYE Gala:
Freakin' awesome party!!!!!! We were really impressed with all the food, especially the bacon wrapped scallop. The mini burritos were really good, too. All you can eat and all you can drink... WOW. So many dance floors. So much fun. I hope this hotel hosts this party again next year.

Thank you, Hilton Bayfront, for an extraordinary NYE weekend!

As a loyal fan of Hilton and their hotels, I have to say this is one of the top ones I have stayed at.

The location is awesome. It is right on the water, and very close to shopping and restaurants.

The hotel itself is very nice and the grounds are well kept and clean. They offer valet but also have a structure you can self park in for around $15. The rooms have nice decor and the beds (I believe it's the sweet dreams collection) are awesome.

I was lucky enough to stay at this hotel during the summer, and was able to enjoy the pool. The pool is on the side of the hotel facing the bay, so you can lounge or swim while overlooking the water. Awesome view. They also come around with free yogurt cups for guest from the store located within the hotel.

I also used the fitness center while here and was moderately surprised. It is rather large (compared to most) and has a good handful or cardio and weight machines. The center also overlooks the bay which is nice.

At night I dined at the grill downstairs in the hotel (It was either espn zone or fox sports) The service was great and the food was tasty.

While this hotel can get a little pricey, I would definitely say its well worth it.

We are going to the Navy Ball at this hotel and when went to make our reservation not only did they want to charge us over 300 a night when the other families were paying around 175 but they told me the Navy didnt book enough rooms and that they had plenty of rooms but that the Navy underestimated the amount of people, after speaking to the Chief in charge of the event he explained they tried to book more rooms and were told they couldnt.  So I called the hotel back and spoke to a supervisor who said she was sorry and that the representative shouldnt have said what she did and would get back to me about discounting our room.  Days have gone by and still no call so I booked another room and wont be doing business with the Hilton.  Too bad they couldnt be more friendly to the Military who I am sure is paying them a huge fee to host this ball!

This place would be perfect if not for the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

But first, the good: what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.

My husband, his parents and myself stayed here midweek in mid-October on vacation and it was a wonderful treat - we booked our stay of 2 rooms for 3 nights ENTIRELY with my husband's airline miles! It was a big bonus to be staying at such a nice hotel for free, excluding the $27/night parking fee.

The hotel is beautiful and grand, as would be expected. The location was superb. Though we weren't given the "best" view (not that we required that at all), our rooms were astounding. We got a great view of the bridge leading to Coronado and the bay was just serene to look at, even with the constant marine fog.

We were just a hop away from the Gaslamp District, and while walking over for a casual stroll was just a hair too far, it was always fun driving through the area while on our way to do touristy things (Sea World, San Diego Zoo, etc.).

The rooms were nice, spacious and clean, and I loved that the bathrooms were the same. On a side note, the one detail that I really appreciated in the bathroom was that the shower head would not automatically engage when you turned the water on. Even if you pulled the plug that would route the water from the bath to the shower, the water would only come out through the bath faucet first, preventing you from burning or icing yourself unexpectedly. Good job, Hilton.

The gym was decent. Small, but it had a plethora of machines and I liked that they had complimentary fruit, though it was just your basic apples and oranges. No pun - I meant that literally. However, I LOVED that they had free shots of acai outside, though. That went above and beyond my expectations.

The pool and hot tub were amazing. I was surprised that there hardly anyone was taking advantage of the amenities, but it made it our own intimate playground.

There was a $10 burger and brew special going on during happy hour at the in-house restaurant downstairs, which the other 3 took advantage of. (I went off to visit an old college friend that night.) They praised the deliciousness of the burger and the craft beer, and that is one thing that I was sad to have missed.

The stay here really was pretty wonderful and you couldn't help but feel special and fancy while residing at this Hilton...

...until you had to interact with any human element.

Good god. I do NOT think I'm being too high-maintenance in expecting top-notch customer service at an establishment like that. Granted, maybe they weren't HORRID, but to be completely SUB-PAR at a 5-star is mind-boggling.

When we arrived, the guy at the front desk checked us in for ONE room. My husband went to do this while I dealt with unloading our suitcases and figuring out where to park the car. When he came back, I noticed that we were missing our whole second room...which wasn't my husband's fault because why would he assume they'd f-up like that?

Yes, sorry, my angry tone is pretty obvious, but I'm not upset because a mistake was made. I'm upset because once we went back to the front desk guy to point out his error, he refused to acknowledge it, and tried to convince us that this was how the reservation was made. Untrue, of course.

After standing there and waiting while he unsuccessfully tried the first few times to relocate our reservation, he FINALLY discovered it...and THEN made the excuse that my husband's name was what threw him off. My husband has one of those "first two names" deal, but seriously...that was a poor excuse for the employee's incompetence. Again, it wasn't that he just made an honest mistake, it was that he was just so freaking obstinate about it.

Later on, I wandered off downstairs by myself, and I got a little lost trying to find my way back up to my room. There were apparently two sets of elevators I wasn't aware of when I walked down, and I didn't notice the second set that actually would take me to my floor. I located someone in a Hilton uniform, and even though he looked like he was more maintenance than hospitality staff, I thought he'd be able to help me out, no problem.

This guy stared at me like I was stupid as he rudely pointed and curtly replied, "Over there." Again, I hadn't realized there was a second set of elevators, so I was a bit confused and I asked him again how to get to my room. Then he GLARED at me and pointed again. I then just backed off and walked in that direction, realizing only then what he meant. Sure, I was a little spatially incapacitated then, but there's no reason for the blatant condescension I experienced.

My last point is the reason I will never stay at this hotel again. EVERY FREAKING MORNING as early as 8AM, some girl BANGED on our door because she was conducting a survey on behalf of the Hilton. Okay, I don't remember exactly what she wanted, but IT WAS BLOODY EARLY AND I WAS STILL ASLEEP!!!

Gah, I'm out of complaining space.

Nice hotel, but will NEVER stay again!

Among its class, its a 4 star. Hilton's arent really 5 star hotels but to be fair and compare this hotel to other "Hilton's" it deserves 4. Nice convenient location, near the convention, gaslamp, train, and the marina. Dog friendly!!! They have parks outside with doggy stations. The pool is decent, the spa is average, the service is great. I have stayed here several times and this last time, i was slightly disappointed because they couldn't give us a king bed room.  They charge for petty upgrades (view and the rooms certainly arent as comfortable as many other places i have stayed. It is NOT a luxurious resort-like experience which many expect because of the price. It is a Hilton and it is the location you are paying for. Overall, this hotel offers cleanliness, dog friendliness, great location, and great service.

This hotel has fantastic service and great perks for HHonors gold members.  I received a room upgrade to a corner room with 2 views, and every day there was free wifi, a free appetizer at the bar, and free starbucks breakfast and pastry.

The parking is a little steep ( 27 self/ 36 valet), but the location is great and the service is amazing.

I was here for a conference so I'll also mention that the conference snacks were above par though our gala dinner for 900 ppl was a little underwhelming.

Love this Hilton! I am a diamond Hilton member and this is one of my favorite properties in the US. It's huge, new, modern.... There is a spa which was very nice (coupon for hotel guests in the welcome booklet), a gym (gorgeous... brand new equipment, spacious), outdoor heated pool, jacuzzi, starbucks, hotel bar which was nice for pre or post dinner cocktails and an onsite restaurant. self or valet park option (some people are complaining about the parking costs but thats the standard in downtown SD).

love love love the hotel... our new go to hotel in San Diego. Now, if only all the other Hiltons will take note and follow suit...

This is my favorite hotel in San Diego. Convenient location across from Petco Park and Gaslamp district. The hotel is modern, the rooms comfortable and new - and the hotel is spacious ith plenty of amenities. Great views of the bay. A nice pool. Helpful staff.

The views are spectacular - just make sure to ask for a room facing the water rather than the city.  The rooms are clean, modern, and medium in size - just cozy with two double beds.  The lobby is majestic and spacious - you don't mind hanging out there rather than just passing through.  Pool is great year round with plenty of seating to lounge around.  There's two higher end bars/restaurants and the FOX Sports Grill for a more casual bar and restaurant.  My advice is to grab drinks at the lobby bar and head to their semi-circle balcony - you'll never want to leave that spot ever for the rest of your life.

The location has some drawbacks - the biggest being the $27 for self-parking (free parking starts around J St and 13th St, although it's a shady area).  There's nothing next door other than another hotel and their own bars and restaurants.  The Gaslamp District and the nearest light rail station is a $10 taxi ride or a 5-block walk (Take a walk across the unique bridge between the parking lot and the ballpark).

The staff was friendly for the most part with a few hitches.  We had a king bed and a wheelie bed the first night despite booking two double beds.  The security department wasn't great at following up on a lost item, which I could see being a problem if the item was more valuable.  There's NO FREE WIFI (FOX Sports Grill has free WIFI), but you get the fee waived if you're a HHonors Silver or higher or an AT&T DSL customer (bring your login).  Room rates are higher, but that's expected for the location and the niceness.

Im writing this review at 3am sitting in the most uncomfortable bed ever.  Yes this place is clean, pretty and a great location but if I can't sleep because they buy their mattresses from a cardboard factory, what the point of a room.  I actually contemplated sleeping in my car...never again...

We could not have been happier with our stay here Saturday night! We were suppose to have a reservation here from a "friends and family" discount through a sister hotel, but apparently they never made the reservation when they said they had!

This hotel was very accommodating, especially since it was our 1 yr wedding anniversary and a special celebration.

The rate was very good, especially with the AAA discount. We were on the 28th floor, with a great view! The room was very nicely appointed with modern/contemporary furniture. It was clean and spacious.

The pedestrian bridge was gorgeous at night, and a very easy walk in to the Gaslamp Quarter.

The only problem we had was with the air vents and fan. The room was very stuffy even with it on. We ended up with stuffy noses and extreme thirst all night.

The pool is salt water and large. The front desk staff very friendly and nice.

We will definitely stay here again. They compt the parking due to problems we had with the "other" hotel! How nice. Thank you Matt!

Nice lobby and I love all Hilton's.
Great views and very nice bedroom.s.
Our room was next to the fire staircase. We heard everything like footstep and odd noises. Fire alarm went off so it was security checking the staircase I'm sure.
pretty boring overall except the views. They had a huge event with a motorcycle stunt in front of hotel at 8pm that evening and the front desk failed to advise us of this.  I would have loved to watch that.  So they staff is not so knowledgable in terms of knowing to share exciting events at hotel. I might have given another star or two if so.
It feels too much like a corporate hotel catering to business travelers. That's my biggest downfall for this Hilton.
For the money I would rather stay at Hyatt Grand Manchester.

Spent 3 days and 4 nights here for a conference.

    Pros:

Great Staff-- Very helpful. Very informative. And the usual excellence that can be expected from a great hotel name like Hilton.

Great Location-- Right alongside the San Diego convention center, the nightlife of the San Diego Gas Lamp district, and within striking distance of SD Zoo, Balboa Park, a bunch of excellent beaches, and other fantastic bits and pieces of San Diego. Pretty nice place to spend a few days relaxing (er... i mean for a conference). The hotel is very modern looking and modernly furnished, they have lightning fast elevators, and everything smells like daisies here.

Great Room-- Room I was in had two excellent queen-sized beds. Very modern and clean furniture. A 36'' flat screen. A bay/city view (floors ten and up get this I believe). Lots of towels. Two desks. Sparkly clean. And the best of all, the rooms are pretty sound-insulated so you sleep pretty soundly throughout the night.

Great gym-- Don't know if this matters to anyone, but they have a pretty nice fitness facility. About a dozen treadmills and ellipticals for cardio, Two benches, DBs to 50s, a leg press machine, kettlebells to 60s, a buncha fitness mats, a multi-use cable machine.

Restaurant-- In-house restaurants were pretty OK. I ate breakfast at the Vela restaurant on first floor, and dinner at the Odyssey on floor 2. The Breakfast buffets in the Vela were standard stuff, nothing to write home about, and the upstairs Odyssey restaurant was much the same. However, there are hundreds of restaurants within a 5 minute walk if you don't enjoy the venue here.

Ample Parking (but ridiculous... i'll explain later)-- Lots of room in their 5 to 7 story enclosed/attached parking structure.

    Cons:

BAD Address--The address they have listed online is actually not the address of the actual hotel... I spent a good 20circling in the wrong direction, and once I called the hotel, I was informed "O... apologies... we've been meaning to get that fixed" WELL FREAKIN' FIX IT GOD DAMMIT. Why would you do that your guests? Ridiculous.

No ventilation in the restroom-- Restrooms did not have a ventilation shaft, so that was a little uncomfortable at times (if you catch what I mean).

No cell phone signal-- Not sure who this would matter to, but there was absolutely no reception, even though I had a 23rd story room outward facing room.

Ridiculous parking-- something like 35 dollars a day? yeah... no joke. You've got to be kidding me. Kinda surprised they didn't ask for me to sign away my first-born as well.

Restaurant-- I left one of those protein blender bottle at the restaurant... came back 10 minutes later and was informed that they had thrown it out... I mean seriously... I'm a guest at your hotel, you would think they would try to be more courteous about other peoples' belongings. This definitely left a rather sour taste in my mouth.

As far as I'm concerned-- Excellent hotel, but for the price and all the extra dings that they made me go through, I'd rather stay somewhere else if I was paying.

First & foremost I wanted to give a shoutout to Chris M (Front Desk Agent).

My birthday was this past Saturday and my boys & I decided to live it up in San Diego. I booked my hotel on Thursday and called in that night and spoke to a gentleman named Chris :) WORKING IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY I have learned to always be courteous when you answer the phone, smile as if the guest is in front of you and deliver the BEST customer service to everyone! Chris absolutely did that! I had  27 minute conversation with him about my life story and my birthday. Well we ended our conversation with "im looking forward to meeting you on Saturday :)"

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!! SATURDAY CAME! we finally arrived in SD and well straight to the front desk I went and there he was. Greeted me with a smile and a welcome we engaged in our conversation and once AGAIN EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! He definitely made my birthday a memorable one; from our rooms, the floor; and the breakfast. I gave him a hug and said thank you! I was in room 2365 and BOY THE FREAKING VIEW WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!

CHRIS YOUR FREAKIN AWESOME!! RODRIGO THE CONCEIRGE TOTALLY HOOKED IT UP AT FLUXX (NO COVER BABY!!!)

I took the liberty to go downstairs and speak to Anita and tell her about her staff! Incredible employees here!

The hotel is amazing! Beautifully decorated and very precise interior! The elevators are prompt and clean. The lobby was spotless NOT TO MENTION THE FREE WHITE CHOCOLATES IN THE FRONT! The valet staff was quick and polite. Every staff at this hotel greeted my friends and I everywhere we went.

I AM COMING BACK! Hands freaking down! I partied up at FLUXX and was pretty hammered but I would like to say THANK YOU CHRIS, RODRIGO (Conceirge)  & ANITA (Front Desk Manager) FOR MY EPIC STAY!!!!! love love love love love it!

I picked this place because I wanted water view and access to downtown. I nailed it.. Very new and very nice. I have a room wit partial view water view and it was really nice. Room was kind of small, 2 queens and nothing remarkable about the room itself. The hotel is very nice and right downtown on the water. I would recommend it.

To start off I have stayed at several Hilton's in the past few months, from the Conrad in Hong Kong to the Hampton Inn in Tampa, and I had great expectations for the San Diego Bayfront.
The Good: As a silver member of the Hilton Honors club I received my nights stay for free, so the price was well within my price range. The location was nice with a picturesque view of the bay from our 19th floor window.  Setting up my little get away online was remarkably simple and checking in was a breeze, probably all based on my Hilton Honors membership. The buffet was outstanding as expected, and the wait staff was helpful without "hovering". All of the hotels facilities were excellents to include the heated salt water pool and the yogurt shop.

The Bad: first off where is my robe? Seriously I have never stayed at a Hilton an not had their famous white terry cloth robe waiting for me in my room. It probably sounds like I am whining (and maybe I am) but come on, it's the Hilton not motel 6. OK, so I'm over the missing robe, but now I realize that there is NO mini-bar! What the hell? No robe and no mini-bar, at least they have a really cool Fox sports bar to grab dinner in right....WRONG! "Sorry sir, the entire resturant is closed tonight for a private party." Closed, on a Saturday night, of course it is.  My last real concern here is parking, while it was ample and close it was also $27 a night for self parking even though you are a guest of the hotel. This may again sound paltry but one on, did you think at maybe I walked here with my luggage?  It see,s to me that a hotel of this caliber should at least provide parking (they could always add $30 to your nightly room charge an no one would be the wiser).

The Ugly:  OK, so here is my issue: a dirty pillowcase on the bed. Noticeably dirty, on a big round decorative pillow. REALLY!!!  Can't they shuffle some of the money around from the parking charge and buy another box of Tide? People shell out big bucks to stay at places like this so that they don't have to worry about dirty sheets and missing mini-bars, while this is an isolated incident it goes down as an epic fail.

Want a great view and a nice room? Stop here.

This almost spankin' new facility is clean, beautiful, and close to the burning fun of the Gaslamp Quarter. A cab from here to anywhere downtown is $5 or less.

Our double queen room was standard size with a WAY above average view. We could see the entire downtown + the bay + Coronado Island + the ocean from the 22nd floor.

The hotel staff were friendly and always pleasant in interactions. The service wasn't knock-your-socks-off good, but it was more than enough to get us by.

Self-parking was a bit pricey, but was, as always, less expensive and less wussy than valet. The parking garage is nearly as tall as the hotel, so give yourself 10 extra minutes to get anywhere by car.

In the end, I can say I'd happily return here, though I prefer the Hilton Gaslamp Quarter.

this hotel is located among many with the same exterior amentites including trolley access, close to gaslamp, bay views.
it is new, so it is clean.
this is not a four star hotel experience.  asked for late check out due to extremely late arrival and was told "yes".  a maid came into the room while we were inside, as if there was no communication.
the hotel attempted to charge for an "upgrade" room which i expressly declined at check in.  it took a phone call and a visit to the front desk to straighten that out.
there are no services after 11pm, other than a bar that does not offer food. (found that out after calling the front desk and asking where a food vending machine might be.. there isn't one.  front desk said there would be "snacks" in the lounge ~ bar.  went down to the lounge and was told that there was no food.
quite rude staff, inattention to detail. if i had paid full price i would be demanding a refund.  i'm calling it a day since it was last minute "deal" booking.
but i would not recommend this at any price over $100.
absolutely not four star experience in any way, other than the view.

I used to never stay at a Hilton, as I had bad experiences at a few. However, this is a great hotel, in a great location. We had a wonderful, wonderful stay. They also let us bring our dog!

    LOVED.

I normally enjoy smaller boutique Hotels with more privacy but I do have to say, this hotel is amazing.
For the price, it almost shocks me! The hotel is only 3 years old and has the most beautiful view. Everything is brand new and squeaky clean just how I like it! The service is great and they have beer and wine tastings on the weekends (well, the weekend I was there at least). I have absolutely NO complaints about this place.

    RECOMMEND RECOMMEND RECOMMEND.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at.  It is clean.  Not just clean, sparkling clean.  I checked the mattress, and it was as white as snow.  I was there during a huge blackout (spread across southern California, Arizona and even Mexico).  It was not even a little bit the hotel's fault, yet they bent over backward for us.  The power had gone out around 3pm, so they gave everyone a complimentary dinner.  Even though the power was back on in the morning, they also gave us a complimentary breakfast.

I had scheduled (and pre-paid for) a massage and facial package in the spa, which happened to be during the blackout.  They couldn't do a facial during the blackout, so I went to the front desk, and they gave me the price of the facial in meal coupons I could use for the rest of my stay, PLUS said that if I had time, I could still get my facial.  Very accommodating for sure.

The views were beautiful, the staff was amazing, and the food was delicious.

This hotel is right next to Ground Zero for Geek Fest aka Comic Con . If you are going to Comic Con, this is the closet hotel to Hall H of the Convention Center. Each day I looked outside my hotel window, I saw the geeks camping out in order to get in Hall H to watch whatever panel that morning.

Lets move pass the geek talk and talk about the hotel. It is a pretty nice looking 30 story hotel right there by the water. You can see the Coronado Bridge and the famous Coronado Hotel right across the bay. It is directly across from Petco Stadium and there is a bridge that takes you across the street to avoid playing frogger. Gaslamp is also across the street.  It has lots of convention rooms, I believe 3 floors. There are 3 places to dine at and booze it up, a beautiful salt water pool, a huge lobby to lounge around and one of the friendliest staff around. We checked in on a Wed night and left the last day of , which was a Sunday. Even though we checked out at 12 noon, they allowed us to keep all our baggage on a cart in a secured room in the lobby and allowed us to keep our car parked in their lot till 4 PM. The Con doesn't end till 5 PM Sunday and this was very convenient.

This is how we rolled into Geek Fest. http://www.yelp.com/bi... Hotel guest after hotel guest would walk by and laugh with envy. They wished they thought about doing the same thing. After the bars closed, the party didn't with our stash. We pretty much rolled around the hotel with a drink in our hand our whole stay. We used the bathtub as our cooler. Each day my responsibilities were to fill the trash bag I placed in the tub up with ice to keep the beers nice and cold when we got back geeking out at the Con. The maids all stared at me as I made about 10 trips each day to the ice machine using the small ice bucket in our room.

What prevented this place from being 5 Stars. Although the hotel is nice in general, I found the rooms to be just decent and on the small side. Our room with 2 double beds ran about $300 a night. Also parking at this hotel was something like $27 a day.

And the best thing about my stay in this hotel was I ran into "Dexter" Michael C Hall down in the lobby after finishing his panel. http://www.yelp.com/bi... He was trying to go up to his room and got mugged by a bunch of autograph seekers.

Even though this place is on the pricey side, I would stay here again in a heart beat. It was a good 4 day stay for sure.

I am a tough critic, but all in all, this place is nice. Usually, I am a Marriott guy, but decided to try this place out. Gorgeous bay views from the large windows. I was able to see the sparkling water and rooftops throughout the city.

There is a Starbucks on site for coffee lovers and a large open lobby for guests. The rooms are clean and shabby chic. Plenty of clean towels in  the bath, good water pressure in the shower, and a bed that made me forget I needed to get up. Go head Hilton! Not bad, not bad!

Stayed here Comic-Con weekend and it was SUPER packed! Beautiful hotel, stunning lobby, gorgeous pool and friendly staff.

We got a great deal on Priceline ($120/night for 2 double beds with Coronado bridge view, on the 15th floor). The room was smaller than what I expected (and what i'm used to), but it was clean and well prepared. They have Peter Thomas Roth bath amenities, which I LOVE. I kept trying to spot the maid so I could swipe her stash (PTR is expensive ish, ok).

I am in love with the pool! Seriously, even if you're staying only 1 night, go check it out. It's open to 11pm and they have a great hot tub as well.

Only 4 stars because the rooms are small and the $27 PER DAY for parking is just rude *hmmph*.

Seriously beautiful hotel, with gorgeous landscaping and grounds for you to stroll by the water. Literally right next to Hall H of the Convention Center. There's a walkway that leads directly to Petco Park, and Gaslamp district is just across the street. Super convenient! Will definitely stay here again.
