Review from Jani B.
The bf and I ended up here after staying at the Sheraton (blah) and narrowly escaping a stay at the Hilton Suites.
Here's what I like: the King and especially the King Suite were spacious rooms (especially the suites!!!). The bed is firm enough so that if one of us gets up or flips over during the night, the other likely won't notice it. HD TV(s) came in each room we stayed in (the King suite wasn't immediately available the first night we were here), and the rooms smelled and looked clean and fresh.
Free wi-fi and internet access is a BIG plus, and the gym was clean and well-stocked with equipment that was either new or very-well taken care of. The pool area was small, but neat and relaxing. They also have a well-stocked pantry to buy snacks/drinks from.
The only "down side" (which isn't that bad, really) is that room service is only available at night for dinner (something like 5pm-9pm), and breakfast is only available in the restaurant downstairs. No lunch available, what-so-ever. Still, with so many restaurants across the road, food isn't ever really a problem. I totally recommend their Chicken Tortilla Soup, however. It's really good.
I would stay here again - hands down. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and in the restaurant and room service departments - staff were very eager to serve. There was always someone smiling and asking to help you out. -

I recently travelled with my parents to the GTA for a family function and stayed here at the HGI as it was the most ideal location for us.
This HGI was larger than most HGI's, as the lobby felt a little more upscale but overall, provided the consistency one would expect when staying at an HGI.
We stayed in a room with two queen beds. For three adults and quite a few pieces of luggage, the room was spacious enough. The room decor was slightly dated, i.e. floral motif, but on the bright side, the room did feature an LCD TV. As with every HGI, there was complimentary wired or wireless high speed internet, which was pretty fast and reliable; microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator, the three features which my parents loved having in the room. The bathroom was bright and spacious. Lastly, I liked how they had a safe in the closet.
During our visit, I used the fitness center, which was equipped with up to date equipment. In addition, I loved their pool and whirlpool, which was indoor and had a shower area to use before/after pool use. One morning while my Dad and I were still fast asleep, my Mom sneaked downstairs to have breakfast. She went for the Continental option which was about $8, otherwise the Full Breakfast Buffet was about $14. She said that she enjoyed it very much.
TIP: Self-Serve Coffee/Tea is complimentary every morning and is hosted in the lounge.
Service was friendly but most impressive was our room attendant who serviced our room three of the four nights we were there. She always greeted us very genuinely with a warm smile and was very kind and friendly. Not to mention, our room was always spotless!
Regarding location, again, it was ideal for our needs. The hotel is located in a suburban/business area, just off of Hwy. 7 and is within short distance to several dining options and highways. Otherwise, it just a quick drive to other dining and retail options.
Would we stay here again when in the GTA? Absolutely! -

Great hotel. I've stayed at this property numerous times. And each time I'm here, I absolutely love the customer service that I receive. One person in particular - Kerry D., an assistant guest services manager, really makes me feel welcome! She smiles and greets me all the time. She is attentive and ensures that I am comfortable at the hotel.
Thank you HGI - You deserve recognition for your good customer service! -

Stayed here for 4 nights in June 2010 for a short vacation, hotel booked via a flight/hotel/car package on Expedia. Its located in close proximity to Highway 404, and many other hotels. It was centrally located for us to reach the many Chinese businesses/restaurants in Markham and Richmond Hill, the reason for our visit, and still be a reasonable day trip distance from downtown Toronto. It was about a 20 minute drive via the express 407 highway from Pearson International airport.
Check-in went smoothly, and all our interactions with front desk staff over the 5 days were pleasant. Room is very spacious, furnishings seem new, very tasteful colors/decor, a Herman Miller Mirra chair at the desk, and very plush and comfortable beds and bedding. Neutrogena branded products in very nice bathroom. Top of shower curtain was mesh to let in light. Lobby has a dining area on one side for a restaurant and a seating area on the other, with many comfortable chairs, grouped for conversation, and arranged to feel cozy despite the open set-up. Free parking in lots around the hotel was easy to access.
Overall, this was a very clean and comfortable stay, and one of the best I've had in the hotels in this area. Will definitely return. -

Your typical business hotel. Small bar with filled with other travelers, a complimentary Financial Times newspaper, free coffee, and a decent breakfast. Located near the major highways, so you can get where you need. Plenty of options for eateries, and entertainment around hotel location too. AND- all the amenities are provided by Neutrogena, a nice touch.

As HGI's go this in a well established hotel with superior service. Being I am one of the only consultants from the US and actually working Christmas week I feel compelled to give them a review.
Being Toronto we had a lot of snow and they could have done a better job keeping the side walks open. That said I was very impressed with the service, value and quality of the facility. Far better than the HGI in Vaughan.
The owners here are Asian and are very meticulous in the delivery of their service. The staff was very friendly and professional. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The cleaning staff did a great job. The food service was limited to breakfast because of the holiday but the service was perfect. There was even free sandwiches in the evenings. The feel was that of a older grand Hilton's of the past. The bar was spacious and did not over charge.
Great value. Will stay there again!
