Been here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both times excellent meals(surprisingly good quality and presentation), cheap and served by waiter with a fun personality.
We were offered some kind of voucher or coupon for bowling after our breakfast. We didnt have time but next time we will take them up on it.
Homemade potato chops are awesome:) -

Well, we've been to the Highstrike for a few times now and have been more than satisfied! The restaurant is part of the West Seattle Bowl and the decor is "upscale diner" ... lots of spacious booths, recently renovated!
The service has always been pleasantly attentive without overbearing and the food is *very* good for american/diner fare (though "diner" conjures up images of Denny's ... the Highstrike is in a completely different league). The menu runs the gamut of sandwiches (hot, cooked), salads, pizza, entrees, hot dogs, etc.
We've had several items here including the chicken breast panini, jerk chicken sandwich, Seattle dog and personal pizza. The food is fresh, carefully (and properly) prepared and downright delicious (and filling). The homemade potato chips (straight out of the fryer) are the best I've *ever* had (for homemade ones). Mind you, the pizza was decent, but not as awesome as the rest of the grub!
The Highstrike is a winner, in my opinion. Delicious food for a reasonable price in a relaxed (but pretty) atmosphere. -

hubby and I stopped by for lunch here after reading all the great reviews - especially about their fries and potato chips...we were not disappointed.
He had a ginormous bacon cheeseburger with fries and I had the salmon BLT (which was actually just as tall as the burger) with potato chips. My sandwich was terrific and I loved the fresh, still warm, crunchy potato chips - seasoned perfectly.
We kind of flubbed up our drink orders, they had "bloody mary shrimp cocktail" and we both read the title and assumed it was the beverage with a nice jumbo shrimp slinging over the side and not "shrimp cocktail" = it was a spicy shrimp cocktail - very tasty, just not what we were expecting.
After lunch here, we were able to skip dinner! Prices were nice too.
We will be back! -

When I was a kid there was a bowling alley near my house that had a chinese restaurant. My mom accidentally burned the rice for dinner and decided we'd go give it a try. My entire family got food poisoning. So I'm not a big fan of bowling alley food.
But this place is pretty good. Except for the occasionally distant cheers and the bowling specials on the TV screen you don't even know where you are. They've done a nice job of giving it a cozy family diner look and the service and food are good. The french dip had decently cooked roast beef, the bread was a little limp and not toasted enough. The apple crisp desert topped with Husky Deli Vanilla Bean Ice Cream was delicious.
Not awesome but a solid family diner/coffeeshop. A good replacement for the gone but not forgotten Charlestown diner. -

The burger here is exceptionally good, and the steak salad will keep you coming back. There were salmon sliders as the special of the day, and these were perfectly cooked. Yes, it's attached to a bowling alley. Don't let that dissuade you from eating some honest, thoughtful, and well priced meals in the neighborhood.

Man, what a huge upgrade to the restaurant that was here before. You'd hardly know it was the same place. And despite the obvious connection o the name and the space to a bowling alley, there's nothing here that would say "we just threw in an eatery b/c we had space".
We went for brunch on a Sunday and there was plenty of space, including some nice large booths which helped since we had a party of 6. Service was speedy and the prices were excellent. It's not the widest brunch menu but there were enough choices for my taste (french toast, eggs benedict, scramble, waffles, etc.).
The waitress told us they were having free mimosas, so we were all "RIGHT ON!" Then later she said she was mistaken, but comped us the mimosas anyway, which is the right thing to do, but I appreciate that she wasn't annoying about it (yes - we made sure to leave a really large tip).
Physically the space is really nice - modern looking with all new furnishings and seating. They even have a semi-private room if you wanted to (say) have a party here or just sit sequestered from the riff-raff (although it's a bowling alley, you are the riff raff, so shut it).
Plus, if you prefer to bowl and eat at the same time, you can order and have food delivered to your lane (all without leaving the bowling alley, I might add).
We'll definitely come back for another pre-bowling brunch, esp. on Saturday when they have a "get a free game of bowling" with brunch special.Listed in: Good for Kids in Seattle

Had breakfast/brunch here before bowling this past Sunday (03/6/11) and was "bowled" over by how good the food was. Even better, how reasonable the prices were!
Our server made a mistake and told us there were free mimosa's that morning, but when it turned out she was incorrect, she gave them to us anyway (THANKS!).
Average price for breakfast menu item was $6-$8. Me and the kids had the french toast w/ bacon, my BF had the waffle w/ bacon, and our friends had a scramble/omelet dish and an Eggs Benedict, both of which also looked delicious.
The decor has been beautifully updated from the Chinese restaurant that used to occupy this space. Service was attentive & friendly. Portions were hearty. Drinks were strong and tasty. Apparently you can also order food from their menu from the lanes when you're bowling, so will definitely try that next time. -

I've finally found a comfortable place to have a meal, a great brew & quiet enough to actually have a conversation. The service has been excellent, the hamburgers are so good. It's remodeled & clean. Great prices.

Decided to try it out since it has gotten such good reviews. The reviews don't lie! Excellent meal. I got the chicken tacos. The chicken was really good and it has a sauce on the tacos that was sort of a mix of tangy salsa and ranch. It was delicious! I got fries instead of the chips and salsa it usually comes with. The fries were tasty and seasoned really well. My boyfriend got a cheeseburger and it was really good too. Service was good and the prices are reasonable! I saw a sign on our way out that if you eat breakfast there you get free bowling. That will be my next trip here - to try the breakfast. I really enjoyed this place.

We recently ate here because http://restaurant.com had a coupon and we thought we would go bowling afterwards. Now let me just tell you this is NOT your typical greasy spoon bowling alley restaurant, it was absolutley AMAZING!!! Our waiter was friendly and attentive, excellent service followed up by an incredible meal! I had an amazing sandwhich called the BLAST with really good french fries, then others ordered fish and chips, chicken strips an amazing walnut/apple and grape salad and the mini sliders. Everything tasted amazing and we will defintiley be back to dine here whether we go bowling or not! I would highly recommend checking out this restaurant, you're in for a real treat!!

I have been hearing some good things about it, so I thought I'd try it out and took my sister there for lunch today. It was WONDERFUL! In fact I don't usually write reviews for places, but I thought this place was great and wanted to give them a good rating. I work in a pretty popular West Seattle diner and let me tell you, I'm surprized that this place wasn't packed! The service was great. The menu had great selections, and the place had good atmosphere AND it was super clean! LOVE IT!
I had the the Chicken Jerk Sandwhich...totally awesome...super juicy chicken, with pineapple and avacado. I got the fries and a salad with bleu cheese dressing, amazing bleu cheese chunks. I read the review below about how disappointing the salad was and I really don't understand why...its a side salad...not a new creation...but a nice side salad with mixed leafy greens. My sister had the Cheezeburger with fries...burger was topped with pickles, tomato, onion, and mayo. I don't even eat red meet, but HAD to take a bite. It was so good, it was EVIL. We were both super stoked that the table Ketchup was free of High Fructose Corn syrup, the dressing container was compostable, and the "toothpicks" were made of Bamboo!
SOLD! I'm a fan. I would recommend you go there for a good time with good eats...It's diner food with more care than your used to...
I'm looking forward to trying their brunch! -
Review from Marcy N.
The steak salad is the best thing on the menu! And at $11.00 it's a great value.
I was a little worried that this restaurant was going to be just burgers and fries. I am completely surprised by how tasty the food is and there is something somewhat healthy to order.
The fried potato chips are served up hot and fresh. The first few times I had them they were still a little undercooked but now that the restaurant has been open a few months they have gotten it down.
While I'm sad to see the chinese restaurant gone (yeah for small family run businesses) I'm glad to see there is a good alternative in its place. -

I went to this place with an open-mind, even though the menu looked a bit bland - the same food that everybody serves - no real twists to make it interesting, but we decided to give it a try anyway, hoping that something would make it stand out. We were sorely disappointed.
We ordered the homemade hummus to start. It was nice that it was homemade but it was missing a lot in the flavor area. Not awful, just nothing special. I liked that it came with big slices of cucumbers and tomato as well as the pita, since I avoid bread.
I ordered a side salad to get me started. Essentially it was bagged lettuce thrown on a plate with a little bit of tomato, red onion and some olives. It was way more lettuce than I needed or wanted and not enough tomato and olives. The tomato that was there was good though. The ranch dressing was just ranch dressing - nothing special.
My boyfriend had the soup of the day, which was like a vegetable soup or something. I don't know. I had one bite and wanted to spit it out. Very watered down and just did not have a great flavor to it. He managed to eat it but I'm not sure how or why.
Entrees - he had the High Strike burger. We had high hopes for this burger - it looked really good - big, juicy and messy. BUT, it was really salty and again, just not anything special. I like a good Johnny's Seasoning Salt on my homemade burgers but this level of saltiness was ridiculous. We finally broke it down to the cheese - but why cheese would be the salty part is beyond me. If it were my burger, I probably would've drowned it in ketchup and mustard in order to get it down.
I had the flank steak. Not great but not horrible either. The sauce was good. It came with snap peas. That snap peas were cooked really nicely and that was the best part of the entire meal for both of us.
I never went to the restaurant that was there before so I have nothing to compare it to, but this meal was pretty much what I'd expect from a bowling alley diner - was just hoping for something better. Bowling afterwards was fun though! -

You would never expect a restaurant attached to a bowling alley to be so good! My wife and I love to come here for dinner, and we have never been disappointed. The fish and chips are great, and they have a good beer selection. One of their specialties is the in-house made potato chips, they're great!
Stop in for a good meal and then bowl a few games, you've earned it. -

Good restaurant - Very good if you consider it's connected to a bowling alley.
This is not a bowling alley restaurant. Compared to the disgusting food served at other area lanes, this place is a 5-star restaurant. Also, remember the ungodly restaurant they replaced, the same comparison applies.
The food is great, they worked really hard on their menu and it shows. I would put High Strike above the pale across all the non-specialty (not ethnic, not fancy) restaurants in Seattle. The people that work there really seem to have fun, and they did a nice job turning the outdated Chinese place into a spacious, airy, well-lit atmosphere. There's no hint that you're inside a bowling alley, which makes it a nice place regardless of its affiliation.
The best thing I could say about them is, if you were taking someone on a date that included bowling, I would just assume eat here rather than hit a separate restaurant. Unless you were making a night of bowling, tons of drinking or whatever, that's nothing I could imagine suggesting for any bowling alley past or present.
Bottom Line:
They did a great job with the place. I think it's a great addition to the neighborhood. -

Pretty decent food for a bowling alley of all places! The caesar salad dressing is quite tasty for restaurant food. Also dug the calmari and aioli.
Who'd have thunk you could get steamed clams at a bowling alley? Or a salmon BLT?
Prompt, friendly service and the place is empty at lunch. No worries about getting in and out in an hour.
Stop by and grab a bite!
Gets a five star review for good service, nice menu and good value for the price. -

Who would think a bowling alley restaurant could be this great?! I had heard rave reviews, but was doubtful. But then I ate here once, which quickly became twice in a week. My husband declared it was one of the few properly prepared steaks he has ever had in Seattle. Steak?! At a bowling alley! The chicken, bacon, avocado sandwich is delicious and comes with homemade potato chips, yes I said homemade! And they are seriously addicting. On another visit I had the Highstrike salad, which I have to admit was a better salad than I have had at restaurants for three times the price, with pecans, chicken, goat cheese, cranberries. It was perfection. And on both visits our bill was less than $20, which is unheard of these days. I think I found my new favorite West Seattle restaurant!

Nice place and very unexpected for the bowling alley restaurant. Ordered the chicken sandwich, grilled romaine salad, and homemade potato chips. All were very good, thought the chicken sandwich would have been even better without the cheese. Also ordered a long island ice tea from the bar which was great with plenty of alcohol and flavor. I love the casual and comfortable atmosphere. Great spot when looking to eat out with little effort in a fun environment. Waitstaff was very attentive and friendly.

Great restaurant. We choose to eat here based on a http://restaurants.com coupon and review, and boy are we happy we did. The place happens to be a bowling alley and we did not know this until we showed up. Amazingly enough the place is very nice looking and while eating you never hear any noise from the bowling. While the menu is not huge it is very well done with good ingredients, good pricing, and good quantity. The service was phenomenal and we were amazed by how attentive they were to the customers. Added to this they were very quick to clean up after people left their seats, even going so far as wiping down the chairs. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants some good food at a reasonable price to try this place.

At first I didn't even want to try this place because I was so bummed about the Chinese restaurant closing. But I'm glad I did, because now it's also one of my local favorites. The food is a cut above most casual place. Love the Highstrike Burger, linguini with clams, and the fish and chips. The Highstrike Salad with apples, grapes, goat cheese, and pecans is a great option if you want something lighter.

Though the review "best bowling alley food I've ever had" hardly makes this place sound appealing, it was great food, served by pleasant attentive people, and we'll go back again! The homemade potato chips were great, the ribs were the special one time (yummmm) and the specials we've had have been excellent. And the burgers above par!! There were more people in the restaurant both times we've been there than there were bowlers!

Our sever Matt was terrific and made our night so much better. I had the Mahi tacos and my friend had the steak salad. Both were cooked to temp and fresh. I only wish we finished the night with a round or two of bowling!

This place was great for our birthday dinner for eight/big bowling party for later! The prices are terrific, the portions ample, and the food quality is evident. Our server was friendly and accommodating. It was tastefully decorated. I hope that the neighborhood supports this restaurant so we can continue to have a brunch place within walking distance. Oh, and you can bowl and have a cocktail too! What's not to like?
