Review from Arun S.
I would have loved to go on one of their lantern tours with the Groupon I purchased, but I was unable to do so, because of their poor customer service. If you want the long story, keep reading. The short story is that their manager, Bryce Jackson, is incompetent, unprofessional, and a poor communicator.
I purchased a Groupon for a Lantern Tour in mid May for my trip to Victoria in early June. The day after purchasing the Groupon, I tried to call and email Hidden Dragon to book a tour. I was eventually able to talk to Bryce Johnson, the manager, and told him that I wanted to book a tour for the night of June 4. I was very clear that we were only available on June 4 (b/c of our travel plans). He said he had me signed up and that the tour was very full, but he would be able to squeeze us in. However, just before we ended the call, I realized that he had signed me up for May 4!!! (let me remind you that I was calling in mid May, so he had signed me up for a tour in the past). Once I corrected him, he assured me we would get to go on a tour on June 4. He asked me to call the day before to confirm.
I then called him the day before we got to Victoria to confirm the tour. When I called, he said that they would not have a tour on the night of June 4. He asked if I was in Victoria when I was calling since he could get us on a tour that night. I said that that would not be possible because of our travel plans. When I asked why there would be no tour on the date we had been guaranteed a tour, he said there was not enough interest to bring in a tour guide. Basically, they were not willing to pay a tour guide to give us a tour we had already paid for. Anyway, I was super-pissed about this. As if Bryce hadn't been enough of an idiot, he then called us at our hotel on June 4 (the day we had wanted to go on the tour) to see if we would be interested in going on a tour the following night (we were not going to be in Victoria the following night and I had already told Bryce this many times). This was pretty annoying and just added insult to injury.
I was unable to use the Groupon and will be trying to get Groupon to give a refund. Anyway, I strongly suggest others stay away from this business.
