Hibbards is heaven on earth. Can anything be this delicious?
I moved away from Niagara Falls in 1981 and come back each summer for a month. Hibbards is the required first stop from the airport. Just plain vanilla or plain chocolate, don't need any of the special flavors, except maybe creamcicle once in a while.
I hope there are plenty of little Hibbard's to keep this place going forever. -

Went for a cone last night after a concert at Artpark. I was craving something sweet and, YAY, I found a place that actually stays open after ten midweek in Western New York. WONDERFUL special flavors in addition to the usual chocolate and vanilla. And, this is REAL custard... hand scooped. I had the Chocolate Nestles Crunch (!!!) and my snacking companion had Kahlua. I (of course) had a taste of his (just in the interest of full disclosure for this review). The Kahlua was good, creamy, with a wonderfully balanced flavor, but my Chocolate Nestles Crunch was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Great chocolate custard with LOTS and LOTS of candy crunch. An extra 15 cents for my sugar cone (while usually a little annoyance) didn't really bug me this time because first of all, it wasn't stale. And second, how can I find fault with ANYTHING that held that custard?

"SUPer TASty CUStard in Lewiston.
-Excellent choices (I had Amaretto Custard; AMAzing!)
-KNown for Pistachio Custard and an array of original flavors
-"Cute" small town feel - but would be a lot cooler if it were a half mile father down the road!
a.) Yes, Kelly H., Parking leaves a lot to be desired, but worth it in the end.
b.) There are "kiddies" working there, but again, the custard/ice cream is good enough to by-pass the semi-ridiculousness
c.) They don't "price-gouge" for being in an up and coming area.
i.e. One Medium custard with peanuts and one small custard total-ed exactly 6 dollars.....
Good stuff. -

I love Hibbard's more than life itself. After being to many different custard places in New York and California, there is NOTHING that is as good as Hibbard's.
Every winter we would count down the days until Hibbards would open for another summer season... man, those were the days. -

Lewiston, NY
Good choice of frozen custards, frozen yoghurts, milkshakes, etc.
Lining up to order from one of the two small serving windows amidst a bees nest is always fun, as swatting the bees away keeps the kids from getting too bored or docile.
Parking is adequate for a dozen cars or so, which seems to be enough most of the time. And there's always street parking adjacent if a 30 second walk isn't too much exercise to suffer in order to get your fix of ice cold fat and sugar.
I don't see what the problem is with the parking unless it's
"the inconvenience of having to avoid hitting people on the way out, while really needing two hands... but one's occupied holding the ice cream that shouldn't be in your hand while driving in the first place"
Yeah, that could be it...what a bummer, huh?
Saw in a previous review the comment about Lewiston being an "up and coming area" which I found interesting but inaccurate. There is just not the development, growth, or expansion going on to justify that comment. Yes, compared with the depressing remnants of the decaying sewer pit of a city known as Niagara Falls, NY, just a few miles to its south, it is easy to see why people would rather choose Lewiston as a place to live. With such a lot of WNY being so grim, gray, and rotting away, the more decent surrounding places like Williamsville, Clarence, Lewiston, Youngstown, etc. tend to look so much brighter in contrast... but overall the area is far from up and coming...to think otherwise is frankly just a local delusion. -

How can you mess up ice cream? Well, you can't. It's just the atmosphere here. It's basically a free-for all, with little kids and old people rushing the two small order windows. Then, you see all the kids that you graduated with working at the place. And there's bees everywhere in the garbage cans. And the parking is a bit of a headache. Well a lot of a headache. But they have a wide assortment of flavors and there's always a custard of the day.
