Paris
This boutique is the World headquarters of Hermès, and the largest store of the brand. Two expansive levels allow you to meander through the different departments of merchandise and carefully select your luxury purchases, and all the while admire the décor and the building which is a classified monument. Hermès has been at this location since the 19th century, and this is where they used to make all of their merchandise, but they now have ateliers outside of Paris as production has grown quite a bit since then! ;)
You can find the classic and emblematic items such as their hand bags and silk scarves, but you can also find what the French call fantasy jewelry, or the real stuff, perfume, agendas and small leather goods, belts, gloves, and shoes (designed by Pierre Hardy), a womens' prête-à-porter collection designed by Christophe Lemaire since the Fall collection of 2011 (before it was designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier for about 10 years), there's also a mens' department with a clothing line designed by Véronique Nichanian; silk ties and mens accessories, you can also find home goods such as linens, table ware, silver ware, furniture, items for home décor and of course you can find everything you need for equestrian activities, this being the first area of expertise of the "maison".
This "house" represents a quintessentially French style and puts much emphasis on the quality of their products, the nobility of excellent workmanship, the idea of a search for inspiration through travel, design and a great love for long-lasting products that you can keep for years and pass on to those who come after you. It is a family run business, one of the few remaining large family enterprises in France.
For a truly chic shopping experience come and explore this magnificent store. -

Can we say best Hermès in the world?
First and foremost it's massive, there is the widest selection of goods out of any Hermès store I've been to. The Beverly Hills location is often out of merchandise and you're left with few choices, I have found this out on multiple occasions. I'm not the kind of person who likes to wait around for a certain color belt or bracelet so I've had to settle for my second choice a few times in Beverly Hills, in Paris? Not the case, they are stocked.
The customer service exceeds expectations. They are extremely courteous and helpful here and seemingly enjoy their jobs. They have a wide product knowledge and can help you find whatever you're looking for. -

"Je n'en reviens pas!"
I am in love.
I walk into this place and literally fall into a trance when I visit the handbag section. I already have too many Birkins, but I can never leave the Paris store without another tote for my arm. This store also has fantastic finds in their jewelry department, and the scarves and shoes are to die for. Very good salespeople, I always leave with something when I am here.
Probably my favorite Hermes store. -

I believe this is the store that famously turned away Oprah. I mean damn.
I've visited twice, once with my mother who actually bought a bag, and once with my boyfriend, to gawk like a proper tourist should. The place is gigantic and loaded with some of the most expensive designer goods in existence. After a minute or two in Hermes, you start looking at the cute little leather animal keychains and being like, "Wow, only three digits on that price tag? Not bad!"
The bags and wallets are absurdly priced, and other than the timeless Birkins and Kellys, of which there are very few, mostly very boring. If I had a billion dollars I wouldn't shell out for most of the bland designs. My mom bought a brown Birkin, which was a nice find. She hardly wears it, though - it's pretty heavy-handed, as status symbols go.
The Hermes store isn't just purses, though, and not just clothes and shoes and jewelry either. If you do some wandering you can find things like golf bags and saddles and all manner of frivolities stamped with the Hermes name and the Hermes price. It's definitely worth a browse, no matter what's in your wallet.
It's also worth checking out other patrons - there's a healthy mix of buyers and gaspers, many of them Asian. Customer service is very good when needed, but if you're not interested in buying anything, the staff will leave you well alone. I'm sure they're used to casual browsers. Oprah, I would assume, did not fall into that camp. -

two words:
BIRKIN. PARADISE.

This place was like a museum for shoppers. There was a large group of Chinese shoppers all having orgasms as they were handed their pumpkin colored shopping bags. They "ooh"d and "ahh"d over the diamond buckled Birkin that was handled by the sales rep wearing white gloves.
Wearing sneakers and slacks, I felt a bit underdressed. Every other shopper was wearing a suit. Some patron looked me up and down almost as to say that I was some bum that crawled out from the gutters. Seriously? At least I have all of my teeth!
Despite how busy it was, we were able to manage to get some eager gentleman to help us. It was an epic experience...for the wifey. -

The sales people are good. Very good. Insanely good.
A mothers day shopping trip turned into "my dear, this would look lovely on you"
A watch, a scarf and a bracelet later for me, and nothing for Mum, I walked out a very happy American girl in Paris! -

Packed! Packed with people trying to score a Birkin. I thought that they would have them, too. But, no. It is just like every other Hermes store. No Birkins. I suppose you have to stalk it everyday to get one. I have better luck with the Hermes store in San Diego, CA. It is like a museum and it is worth checking out if you are nearby.
