Must try the spanakopita and tzatziki from here, along with the red pepper spread. The tzatziki is so thick! Love stopping here to pick up goodies for a quick lunch/snack.

I don't know any other Greek food stores in town (haven't been to any, at least), so I don't know if Hellas Foods is as good as it gets. But it is pretty freakin' good. As others have mentioned, they have fantastic spanakopita (sp?) and a good selection of olives. In addition to their homemade tzatziki, they also have a fantastic hummus, as well as other yummy spreads. They also stock my favourite cheese - halloumi (cheaper than at Save on Foods), which is a salty and squeaky cheese, not unlike cheese curds, but the coolest thing about it is that it can withstand high temperatures - you can grill it and it melts but holds its shape, and you can serve it alongside your Greek chicken, pork, or whatever. Soooo good!

At Hellas, the spanakopita, hummus, tzatziki, olives, olive oil, greek coffee, baklava ....and, god, did I mention the spanakopita ... are to die for! I'll pop in sometimes to this authentic Greek grocer when I'm starving and in need of a filo pastry fix. Their crispy pie is filled with a savoury, moist mix of spinach and feta goodness. I've honestly never tasted better! And it's a dirt cheap lunch at $3.49 They have a little toaster over to heat it up for you right there. It doesn't work very well, but even luke warm it's still the best I've ever had. This is a great place to pick up crackers and dips for appetizer plates if you're entertaining and want a little something different than cheese and crackers. The baklava is sweet and sticky and it's impossible to have only one, so beware!

This Greek grocery store has been up and running for a long time, so I guess despite the fact that the selection of food here is limited, the business is going great. I don't shop here regularly but I occassionaly stop by to purchase spanakopita (highly recommended!) and their home-made tzatziki. On the shelves you will find olive oil, various sauces and Greek style desserts such as cakes and cookies. The fridge houses olives, several kinds of meat and feta cheese. As you can see, not a lot of food is sold here, really. Italian Centre Shop is way better than this little store. However, I think that if you live close to 124 street where Hellas is located, this grocery store is convenient to have nearby.
