Love this place. This is probably the only place I'll eat downtown if I'm choosing. Delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, rice bowls and sides all with fresh healthy ingredients plus a calorie count so you know what's what.
This is absolute proof that healthy is also scrumptious and yes, I used the word, scrumptious. Never has the classic soup and sandwich combo tasted so good and been so good for you. Meats can be char-grilled, not fried. The to-die-for sweet potato fries are baked. You can add a side of asparagus and dill. Ginger and carrot soup has zing and heat. Rice bowls, brown rice - thank you very much, can be subbed with tofu. Every menu item has a calorie count so you know exactly how much you're taking in and how much time you need on the treadmill to deal with it.
There is a distinct Mediterranean and Asian take to the flavours and spicing so don't fear that taste is sacrificed for nutrition. There is very little to complain about. I look forward to a day when all restaurants can be this transparent about what they're selling you to eat. -

There are few things I enjoy more in life than: lunch, Asian-fusion food, and healthy goodness. HealthFare has all of those things. Yahoo!
I had walked by a few times and the bright green walls, big open space, and healthy-sounding name had gotten me curious.
The food here is not just healthy, but really yummy, too! I love that the calorie listing is right up on the menu beside every price. I ordered a rice bowl kind of dish that was full of beef and veggies and brown rice. It was nice and flavourful and filled me up for lunch indeed.
Staff were nice and friendly and cleared up our dishes and everything.
Can't wait to come back and try the clubhouse.Listed in: Four-Stars, Lunch Break

HealthFare is great!
One of my favourite places to eat on Jasper Ave, the food here is delicious and affordable.
Try out the spicy but delicious sweet potato fries, a filling smoothie, the melt in your mouth peanut lemon chicken rice bowl or beef orange rice bowl, or the quinoa and chicken salad for a satisfying and extremely healthy lunch, dinner or snack.
Best thing about HealthFare is how you'll feel after eating it - completely recharged and feeling as light as a feather! This is food that honestly makes you FEEL healthier after you're done enjoying it.
HealthFare does phone orders and take out for those days you're in a rush, but if you don't have to run, sit down and enjoy the ambiance of this corner-located shop: The floor-to-ceiling windows and open modern arrangements and brightly painted walls are great for helping soothe away your stress as you enjoy your terrific and healthy treat! -

Bright green broccoli, crispy veggies, brown rice and chunks of chicken. A selling point for my peanut lime rice bowl might have been it's heart healthiness, but I don't think that matters as much as its freshly-freshed-freshness.
HealthFare might be conveniently located in downtown Edmonton for all you nine-to-fivers looking for something delicious that won't have you nodding off at three pm, but it could just as easily be located in SF or Vancouver with it's minimal-streamlines, bright green and wood/cork counters and extremely on-the-ball service.
Well priced, health conscious and above all delish - yup, you got me... down to the last hearty grain of rice!Listed in: Where to Eat in Edmonton

I really like the idea of this place but the execution has been deteriorating to the point of being disappointing.
Healthy options for takeout, designed for purposeful food choices - this I love. Knowing the caloric content and rice or noodle bowls that have more veggies than starch make me happy.
Bland, inconsistent dishes have moved this place down on my list of places to grab a healthy meal.
The decor is bright, and includes use of materials that reflect the owner's commitment to sustainability. Good ideas all round, but sadly falling flat. -
Review from Paula K.
HealthFare offers healthy and economical dining options that also taste great. I had a peanut lime chicken rice bowl. The bowl seemed small at first, but I found that the ingredients were focused o the ample amount of chicken and vegetables, rather than piling on the rice and skimping on the proteins, like in so many other places. The chicken chunks were large and tender with the perfect proportion of brown rice. The peanut lime sauce was not very distinguishable though - it tasted like a pleasantly tangy stir fry.
I made my meal a combo, adding a side and a drink for a nominal fee. I chose the baked sweet potato fries, which were large, soft wedges of sweet potato lightly grilled and spiced, served with a mild garlic dip. It tasted better than other orders of sweet potato fries I have had.
On the other side of the table was an orange beef bowl - again, while the sauce was not as flavourful as it could have been, the amount of beef was great.
My appetite was quite satisfied after I was done eating, and I stayed full for most of the afternoon. At $8.99 for most of the mains (which include other kinds of bowls, salads, and sandwiches) and around $12 for a combo, the value is decent as well. I would also be tempted to drop in here for a smoothie or frozen yogurt.
The restaurant itself looks more like a cafeteria - very open, wide spaces. It was sort of cold though, and lots of empty space and hallways. I was impressed that most of the furnishings were made from recycled and environmentally-friendly materials. I also appreciated the calorie counts beside the menu choices. -

Oh yeah - HealthFare rocks. If you like eating out or you often grab food on the run, but you don't want to compromise healthy eating, this is a great place for yummy, delicious food.
With floor-to-ceiling windows and a modern, spacious feel, HealthFare exudes a vibe of well-being. The electronic menu at the front counter lists all of the wholesome and tasty offerings: artisan sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, soups, breakfasts & snacks, smoothies and a great variety of side dishes.
Right away, two things were apparent: the prices are very reasonable and there's full transparency on the content and calories of food.
The baked sweet potato fries caught your eye? This side dish has 178 calories, comes with organic ketchup and low-fat garlic dip. Hallelujah! One of my biggest pet peeves is that most places don't offer low-fat versions of sauces ... for obvious reasons, of course - lard makes things taste better! But more people today want to feel better - and not have to take a cat nap after a fast-food meal.
This is fast food without the bloating and lethargy afterwards! The Charred Med Veggie with Herb Goat Cheese Artisan Sandwich on multigrain bun is my new Happy Meal. The sandwich was just $8.99. I felt full, sated and content that I didn't derail my healthy eating regimen today, just because I had to grab dinner on the go. Kudos, HealthFare!Listed in: Green lifestyle

This is the first place I have ever actually enjoyed turkey bacon (I'm a purist - no bones about it). Turkey bacon appears in Healthfare's clubhouse sandwich, which uses large slices of roasted turkey as well as crisp bacon. The bun is a bit too crusty...less crust, more fluffy insides, please. The quinoa salad is a tasty side - nutty, fresh and tangy with cranberries and green onions. It is well-lit, but a pity that the view isn't much more than a dismal parkade. I will admit that I haven't been to Healthfare often, but when I have I've been most pleased. Except for their background music...too loud and it drives me nuts!

HealthFare Restaurant promotes healthy eating. They provide quality food options that are nutritious and delicious.
The menu has tons to choose from and the options range from rice bowls to sandwiches to salads. They also offer a healthy breakfast menu. The restaurant itself is of the fast food style but it is put together much better. It's comfortable and has the feel of a cafe.
Don't be surprised to find people hanging out here and enjoying a meal or students sitting and studying. It's a welcoming environment. -

I visit Healthfare quite often when I am running around the city. Their downtown location is convenient and a comfortable space for a quick snack or lunch. The service is always friendly and fast and the food is consistently good every time. I usually go for the Chicken Peanut Lime rice bowl which comes with fresh chicken and veggies in a heavenly peanut sauce. I also really like the beef rice bowl, the Healthfare Club Sandwich and their asparagus with dill. Check this place out whether you are watching what you eat or not....it's delicious and just happens to be healthy too!

This place is awesome! Very clean, bright, and modern. Even the choice of bright green in its interior reflects it's earthy feel and is a smart choice. The staff have always been very nice and give the place a semi hip vibe.
Choice of meal today??
A beet and onion salad: bright, simple, and tasty
Baked sweet potato fries: semi charred to give it a smokey taste offset by the refreshing accompanying dip. A light dill/yogurt
Tuna melt sandwich: grainy dark bread, fresh vegetables and light tuna
I have read on here someones opinion stating they found it to be expensive, I find my opinion to be the complete opposite. The sandwiches are about $8.99. Not only are they extremely healthy, but are freshly made and not pulled out of a showcase where they have been sitting all day like the usual booster juice. Definitely my pick when paying the similar price. The salads are extra low cal and about $3.99. pretty great considering the ingredients. The sweet potato fries are about the same price and definitely have an up on the typical deep-fried choice out there.
The fact that it's conveniently right on Jasper ave and situated steps away from world health are two more bonuses.
If looking for a healthy dessert and have a sweet tooth I would recommend trying the mango frozen yogurt.. If they have any left! The last 2 times I have attempted to get some for myself they have been out. Truly disappointing.
Choice of drinks are also wonderful. They offer those aloe drinks that many seem to enjoy. For me, not so much. Besides that a refreshing choice their calypso juice.y favorite would be the tropical mango lemonade.
If you have the luxury of a few extra minutes to grab breakfast in the morning, they have a few breakfast options available as well. Definitely hits all my points for being 5 stars in their 'fast food' health category. Cleanliness, quality, taste, and service with a smile to boot. -

Great healthy food. It's so rare to find guilt free restaurant food (they even have quinoa!).
