Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toe is a lovely store that sells clothes, shoes and accessories for children and young teens. This place is owned by three sisters, with one of whom I had the pleasure to converse. She explained that she is always on the hunt for the latest children's fashions, and recently came back from New York where she found amazing styles that will hit the shelves of her store in the spring. The lady was lovely and very friendly.
As I browsed store's selection, I was impressed with how beautiful most of the clothing items were. Did you know that 7 for All Mankind make jeans for children? They look just as sophisticated as jeans for adults and...well...cost about just as much. Also, I was surprised to see Juicy Couture items for children. They very cute, and, again, rather expensive. There are clothes by many other brands in the store. As I browsed through children's sweaters, jackets, outerwear and dresses (sometimes very fancy once), I kept thinking what it would have been like to have this kind of fashionable items as I was growing up.
The shoes section of the store is nice too. There are booties, rain boots, casual and dress shoes for all occasions and at all price points. When I was in the store, there was a buy one pair and get another one half off even going on. The owner couldn't stress enough how important it was to clear out the inventory to make room for new arrivals in the spring. I will make sure to check back because I do have a little person in my life for whom I can shop at this store. -

If you ever want to feel your maternal clock jump into high gear, go to this shop. It's filled with the most darling shoes, slippers and booties for kids. The first pair I picked up was a little rubber boot covered in iridescent red and pink hearts. When I looked at the price tag my jaw dropped - $67! For two tiny pieces of rubber the child would grow out of in six months. And yet, it's hard not to go ga-ga over their adorable collection. Names from all over the world like Stride Rite, Vincent, Tsubo, Decibel, Stanz and LIttle Raggio - the shoes from Brazil that Angelina Jolie dresses her kids in, apparently because the company supports womens rights with some of their profits. There are also adorable PJ's, mittens and hats, stuffed animals made of the softest coats, hair barrettes and a variety of baby clothes and accessories. If you want to give your child a taste of designer fashions this is the place to shop, if you can afford it. But buyer beware, you're setting the bar high at a really young age. Value Village ain't gonna look so exciting!
