Review from Chelsey H.

You pay for what you get. I have frequented here recently and I always get the bento box special, consisting of tempura, california rolls, chicken or beef teriyaki, a side salad and a spring roll for $6.35.
The tempura is fairly delicious, but if you're one of those people who pick away at the batter coating, you'll probably be disturbed as to how much you'll find on your shrimp tempura! I, on the other hand, am one of those people who love deep fried things but try to avoid them at all costs.. EXCEPT IN THE FORM OF TEMPURA (and deep fried bananas with ice cream...)
-Chicken teriyaki is a little on the bland side and the portion is fairly small.
-California rolls are pretty decent. Cali rolls are cali rolls.
-Salad is good when it's evenly coated in the dressing, but I find they don't dry their lettuce leaves enough, so any dressing on top just rolls right off and the dressing ends up being watered down when you try to dip your lettuce leaves in it.
-**Spicy sauce -- on request. I think there may be a small fee for a little dish of it, but it makes your california rolls taste even MORE delicious!
The servers who work there are sisters (the ones who always seem to be serving me, that is!) and are very polite and sweet, always asking if you need more water or anything else. Great service. Food came quick. Food was just.. average.. and will fill you up. -

Being a sushi lover and being totally out of reach of sushi places in the North Shore, I decided to check this place out.
The restaurant is dark with decent condition furniture with some parking on the street.
The customer service here is not that great. One time I was really hungry and walked into the restaurant and no one was there to greet me and seat me at a table. Mind you, I'm patient and I waited for a good 15 minutes. I was really miffed so I walked out of the restaurant and into the Korean restaurant next door, which had really good Korean food.
I've eaten here numerous times and find that it gets disappointing every time. The fish aren't fresh, as you can tell it's frozen. It's mushy and disgusting. Sometimes I find my salmon and tuna smelling a bit weird. I've been a number of times to get clam miso soup, but they say they don't have it or it is sold out. Um.. your restaurant just opened and you're sold out?!?!? Take it off the menu!!!
For the times that I went, I hear one of the waitresses (or she's the boss lady) shrieking/yelling at each other or talking smack about the customers behind their back. It's not nice!
This place is disappointing in all aspects. I rather walk down a block to a much better sushi restaurant instead without hearing the boss lady/waitress demean her workers and customers behind their backs. -

They can go back up to 4. The last handful of times we've been they've been back to their good old selves.

I go hear because its inexpensive and tastes pretty consistent.
There is definitely better sushi in town but this place isn't so bad if you're looking for a quick bite on Lonsdale.
They have really decent priced Sushi box specials and their beer isn't too expensive either. The rolls are good too, they've got a very interesting spicy salmon sushi roll with tasty sauce.
The service is friendly, but not always consistent. Sometimes it takes a while to pay depending on how many take out orders they have.
So far my favourite meal here is the Beef Teriyaki Rice Bowl. Delicious! -

This is one my favourite Sushi Restaurants in North Vancouver. The sushi is good, the meals are always consistent, the prices are great and the service is good. My 6 year old always chooses Haru over other places!
** The spicy sauce might also be a factor in me retuning ~ it's great! -

We come here often enough that they know I order the same thing all the time. Tonight was not udon weather, so I had an Alaska Roll and a Yam Tempura Roll with a side of spicy sauce. Their spicy sauce is so amazing that I try to re-create it at home. My fiance ordered a beef teriyaki box. For $15 bucks, good enough.

Cheap but not very good. Finding any good Japanese food in North Van is next to impossible!
