Review from Haedis L.
Ahh Harry Jerome..
I forever mix up your name, thus calling you Ron Andrews a good 21 years. However that bears little importance on the fuzzy patch of warmth you've stamped on my heart.
I remember leaping and flying over bars during gymnastics here and being happy I found something I was good at.
I remember lining up behind dozens and dozens of kids wanting to bail down the (at the time) huge water slide.
I remember the birthday parties that were thrown here as a kid, teaming with bubbly soda and music. I wore that white tank-top without a bra (what can I say, I was a budding pre-teen) upon my mom's insistence that "no no you can't see anything," however 20 minutes into the dance there was talk that my, ahem, medallions were indeed showing through. The things you remember as a kid huh?
Now.. It's nice to go in the evenings, after the children have cleared out. They have a fantastic sauna- they seem to have perfected that rare steady and intense heat. I love how the sauna has four levels of seats, so you can chose how many buckets of sweat you want to disperse. There is also so much leg room, it can probably fit around 5 people very comfortably. No dimmed lights like at william griffin either, so it doesn't have that dark, dreary and almost perverted feel.
Can you afford to miss out on the $1 swim?
As I joked with the guys in the sauna, this is the poor woman's spa! -
Review from Christine R.

I love going swimming or skating here. They have great facilities. The pool, especially, is fun for either fitness swimming (i.e. swimming laps) or taking kids to splash around with them. Most of the time, they are set up for lanes, but at public swim times, the waterslide and diving boards are opened up.
There is also a nice big hot tub to relax in - although I've always been horrified by the many "No shaving" signs that dot the area. No running, no horseplay, but shaving? Who exactly is shaving in the hot tub? Some things are best left a mystery. I also like the authentic wooden sauna here, although it is kind of small.
The best time to go is during one of the dollar swim or dollar skate sessions, although as you might expect, these are the busy times. But not too too busy, and probably the best little fitness deal in the city. (Harry Jerome is just near the top of the Upper Levels highway in North Van, so rather close, actually, for you brave bridge crossers.)
