Definitely solid burgers, and around the same price range as The Works. Avocado spread on the burgers is recommended.

The burgers are really good. Love the toppings and flavour combinations that they provide. Big fan of the Bleu Deux

Gourmet burger places have been the norm in Toronto for some time but I finally had a chance to try Harper's during a visit last weekend.

    Good burger albeit slightly overcooked.

Decent amount of options for the burgers but some are just novelty.

This place loses points for the side dishes. Fries were soggy and shapeless and the onion rings tasted like frozen standard fare.

For Kingston, this place is a step in the right direction but there is definitely room for improvement.

Are you tired of the same old burger?
Ginormous patties that ooze grease from every pore to make them taste good?
Standard toppings like pickles, lettuce, tomato, and mayo?
The stereotypical apathy of workers at fast food joints?

    Then stand up for change!
Stand up for sliders.  Whether they're actually healthier is up for debate, but elections are won psychologically, anyhow, right?
Stand up for funky toppings.  Onion rings, soya sauce, Thai curry sauce, avocado, and eggs?  Chyeaa.
Stand up for the option to put sriracha on your burger, because democracy is all about choice.
Stand up for good deals, like 3 sliders for a reduced price (only $11.5 before HST ... I still don't really know what HST is lol.)
Stand up for spiked milkshakes.  'Nuff said.

Stand up for change.  Stand up for local businesses in Kingston.  Stand up for Harper's Burger Bar.

Not really.  At least not until Stephen Harper actually eats here.

And in all seriousness, the burgers were great and the patties, even though they were small in diameter, were quite thick and definitely worth the money.  The food here was more substantial, yet cheaper, than at its sister restaurant, Atomica.  Stephen Harper would be impressed.  It's quite popular, and I don't know if they take reservations, so be prepared for a wait!
