I also had gotten a groupon for a cut and color. I came into the salon, above the broadway pharmacy and was greeted immediately by Croft. He looked at my hair and told me he had an idea for my hair and that I should hear his before I told him mine. His idea sounded great so I let him go with it.
My hair turned out amazing! The best color and cut I have probably ever had! It looks amazing.
My only complaint was that there was an extra 49 dollar charge for the organic color he used. Whether that was legit or not I'm not sure but, regardless, I am very happy and will be going back at least for my next cut! -

I also purchased a groupon for a cut and colour by Harlingten of London Hair Design. First off, trying to make an appointment took several attempts and much more effort than is warranted. Croft Harlingten does not have a receptionist and generally returns his calls at the end of the day. We played answering machine/voice message tag for about a week -- I found this very frustrating!
As far as my cut and colour is concerned, what I wanted was completely disregarded. The stylist must always take the desires of the client into consideration, but this was not the case at all. I did not feel heard. I had to negotiate with Croft in an attempt to get something close to the colour that I wanted, as he refused to dye my hair the shade that I asked for. This was very unprofessional and I felt that Croft behaved in an immature and juvenile manner. He had an idea in his head and simply would not budge. I was left with no options. Thus, I reluctantly agreed to a compromise between the two shades. Needless to say, I was uneasy the whole time in his chair.
The cut turned out decently, but I felt that I looked rather old and matronly. And I did not like the colour one iota, but I couldn't do anything about it at that point. I also had to pay an additional $50 for the "organic" dye, which I think was totally bogus. And I had to run to the credit union down the street to take out some money, as Croft only accepts cash.
All in all, this was not a pleasant experience for me, and I was not happy with the results. I felt misled/deceived and was not impressed with the unprofessional way in which the appointment was conducted (I should not have had to reluctantly agree to a hair colour that I did not want because I was given no other choice in the matter). I rarely (if ever) write reviews, but I do not recommend going to see Croft Harlingten to get your hair done. I am merely writing this to spare someone from having the same experience that I did. Don't get "had." Haha.
I am off to Ethos Salon bright and early tomorrow morning to get my hair fixed. I should have gone there in the first place. Haha. -

This is a joke! I recently bought a groupon coupon for this salon and had a hard time finding it to start with. I was very confused when I walked into a different salon thinking maybe it had a name change that hadn't changed yet but no, he chair rents there. I felt ripped off and lied to by this Harlingten guy. Next I waited for what seemed to be for ever while he finished up his client (whom I must say when finished looked very dated with her feathered hair). Once it was my turn he gave me a consultation and showed me what color to color my hair. It was not what I had wanted and asked to see other colors and he refused to show me more. So I went with his idea feeling a little uneasy but thought well he is the so called hair magician so I will go with it! While my color processed I had to sit under a HOT dryer for 30 mins (which I've been to the salon a million times and never for a solid color did I have to sit like that) Once my color was done he put a highlighting cap on my head! I couldn't believe this! A highlighting cap? I could have done this myself! It seemed a little unprofessional and after all as I looked around the rest of the salon there was women with foils in their hair and their hair was the same length as mine! At this point I'm getting worried. Once I was finished up I owed extra money for my "capped highlight" he told me he forgot to mention he only takes cash but yet at the front of the salon there is a till and a debit machine. Needless to say I left very unhappy and would not recommend anyone to go there. I deeply regretted going to him and wished I would have seen one of the stylists at the salon he rents from. My hair was over processed, dry, and I feathered. Big mistake!
