Harlings is a family owned business since 1964. They have three locations - Vancouver, Surrey and Victoria. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, fun, and friendly. I didn't feel pressured at all or feel uneasy walking around the store. They treated everyone equally with full attention and care to what customers needed. They can find that stone you want and custom make any jewelry you dream up.
The Downtown location could be a bit tricky to find as you have to enter the building and go up to the second floor. You have to ring the bell for them to unlock the door and let you in once you find their office. It might look plain and normal from the outside, but once the door opens, the interior is very professional and welcoming with many display cases. They even have a lounge area with TV and water. Individual private offices line the perimeter of the place for consulting one-on-one with their professionals.
Harlings is the way to go if you want to get genuine, high quality jewelry. They even have an in house appraiser for insurance purposes. You can't go wrong here!

History
Established in 1964
The Harling's Story is one of integrity, drive, hard work and family. Since our founding in 1964, Harling's has grown from a tiny operation on the west side of Vancouver to a recognized leader in the Canadian jewellery and insurance replacement industry, while always maintaining the intimacy and personal service of a family-owned boutique.
With Harling's now in our fifth decade as a family-owned business, Harling's founder Mel Battensby and his wife Pat decided to retire, but their son Chris still leads the company. In 2003, we opened another location in Victoria, BC, and in 2006 we introduced a radical new store design and concept we call the "upstairs boutique." Under Chris's guidance, Harling's Jewellers continues to grow, expand and move forward, while always staying true to the principals that the company was founded on: integrity trust and courteous service.

Vancouver - In 1990 Chris became the second generation of his family to run Harling's Jewellers, following in the footsteps of his father, Mel. Since then, Chris has been the driving force behind the Harling's family and brand - building our insurance replacement services, increasing our buying in international markets, opening two new locations and introducing a radical new store design and concept we like to call the "upstairs boutique." Chris is well known in the jewellery business for his passion, his love of fine jewellery and his genuine rapport with every one of our clients.
