Seems like service is getting a bit slower and slower among the Firkin pubs.  I guess it isn't too bad as I am not in a rush because the traffic home is worse.

Anyway after getting over the sticker shock I decided to go for their daily special of Snake Bites for $8.95.

Snake bites are not actually made of snakes but are actually just boneless chicken.

I ordered it with the honey garlic sauce since that was one of the recommendations by the waitress.

So after it had arrived it didn't looked too bad there were eight. (Though I ate one before I took the pic. Sorry too hungry).

Tastes good but has a strong bite. Though it wasn't too strong that it bothered me. Their dill sauce reduced the heat enough for me to enjoy it.

The side of veggies also help. Though I would have preferred more to help me tolerate the heat more. Thankfully they have given me extra dip to absorb more heat.

Just finished the light dinner with a cup of coffee so I do not fall asleep on my way back from having a nice satisfying dinner.

They really need to lower the height of the dividers or at least organize it the tables in such a way that the staff can see the clientele more easily.

That and the price for what I got prevented this place from having a five out of five.

Yesterday we found ourselves hungry and looking for lunch before dropping me off at Pearson for my evening flight.  But, we did not want to eat at the airport because parking is ridiculously expensive.  So, I searched Yelp for places around the airport and even though this location didn't have any reviews, I have enjoyed other Firkin restaurants previously.

Using a GPS lead us to the opposite side of the building, so we drove around the whole block to be sure we weren't just going crazy.  It wasn't busy, just a few customers there to watch soccer - business types skipping out on work to yell at the TVs and drink beer (I'm ok with that!).

We sat ourselves and were greeted pretty quickly and given menus.  We weren't drinking since I was going to fly and my friend was driving, but you could tell the waitress was a little disinterested in us then.  It didn't take long to order, but the food did take quite some time to be prepared even though the place wasn't busy.  It was worth the wait though because it tasted excellent.  I really enjoyed my Turkey Melt with yam fries and my friend's half-chicken meal looked fantastic!

I quite enjoyed the atmosphere during the soccer game, but then again, I always enjoy watching sports at pubs and this small crowd was very much into the match.  Service for us was a little slow and it took forever to get refills on our sodas, but the waitress was pleasant enough.

So, I'd definitely recommend this place as a quick stop for a bite if you're heading to the airport.  It has free parking and is only about a 10 minute drive from the airport terminals.  They have great hours too, open 11am to 12am or later every day of the week, which surprised us considering the location is mostly close to a business park.  Either way, these Firkin pubs have made great pub food every time I've gone, so give one a try in your area!
