So my husband booked a hotel through Travelocity one of their Top Secret Hotel deals where you pick the price and the Star ratings but they don't tell you what Hotel you will be staying at till you purchase it. Well we went ahead in a hurry in Port Angeles to book a deal before we lost internet/cell service... and what do you know.. Harbour Towers it is! Lovely hotel, right down the street from the ferry terminal.
The hotel was clean and comfy and total worth the price we paid, esp. since we were in Victoria.

Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites is an older hotel but is very clean and within walkable distance to all the downtown highlights of Victoria. Decent value for $119/night.

We stayed in a King Room Suite on the 11th floor that had a separate bedroom and a large living area with a mini kitchen. The balcony had a beautiful view that overlooked the harbour - it was fantastic. The suite was spacious and with ample room for running around and the kitchen was practical especially if you have small kids.

There was an extra $12+tax charge for parking in their underground garage but they did not push this on us also suggested free parking on the street as an alternative.

    Wi-Fi was Free.

Staff was friendly and the service was efficient. Their hotel restaurant looked nice but we didn't get a chance to try it.

I have to disagree with other reviews, and call this a two star. We paid quite a bit for our room on Priceline, although reading these reviews, I'm betting I overbid and got "lucky" at this property vs. something nicer.

The lobby is nice, and the location is pretty great too, although there are some more central (and undoubtedly more expensive) hotels available right in the middle of downtown. It's super close to the Clipper terminal, so walking with luggage is a block or two at most. But the room was pretty tired...very dated. No air conditioning, which wasn't a problem, as we could open the windows and turn on a ceiling fan and make the room very pleasant. Otherwise, very average.

I do want to comment on the bathroom. There was a switch, and it did seem to turn on a vent fan, but there was no vent in the bathroom (unless it was exhausting via the huge gaps in the ceiling around the central light fixture), and it took a good several minutes to spin up to speed, like an airplane warming up. For that reason, this goes on the dreaded list. Also - water pressure from the tub faucet is absurd - like, if I needed a water jet cutter for sheet metal? This would be a good spot to try. But turn on the shower, and it's below average from the shower head, which, by the way, is mounted at armpit height on me. Are Canadians, as a race, just really short? It didn't seem that way.

Their WiFi is free, and given that I didn't want to pay my US carrier's $10/MB rate for international data, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in almost everywhere in downtown from the hotel's WiFi. Gotta keep up the Yelp addiction. Staff were very helpful and polite, which was a bright spot, recommending the best way to get to the gardens and getting us a little bit of a rate on our transportation/admission package. So that's a plus. But on a future stay, I would hope to try some place else, quite frankly.

My wife and I headed to Victoria on a spontaneous trip aboard the Clipper.  Maybe the hotel has been renovated since some of these reviews were written, because we found the hotel to be very clean. The carpet in our room was ready to be replaced, but the rest of the hotel was very nice.

Also, though check-in is officially 4pm we were able to check in when we arrived at noon. This was probably possible because it was off-season.

We stayed at Harbour Towers because it was the cheapest hotel/Clipper package - $212 for 2 people with the Fall Color Special. Since the total was so cheap we accepted the offer to upgrade to a suite for $25 when we checked in.

Also, I know it's common, but it was great that they held our bags after we checked out on Sunday so we didn't have to carry them around town until out boat departed.

The only reason, I mean THE ONLY REASON, Harbour Towers gets a passable three-star ranking is because of the convienent location and subsiquent ability to walk everywhere you need. Other than that, I've stayed in cardboard boxes that are nicer than the rooms offered at this hotel.

This was another Priceline deal, so at $85 CAD per night, I can't complain too much. As I said before, the rooms are to be desired. Relaxing in the room felt like I was filming a bad 80's porno. The worst part about it was I had a view of the neighboring hotel (the Oswego) which seemed to be taunting me with better amenities and luxurious rooms. Damn you Priceline!

If you want great, excellent, fantastic location in a quiet neighborhood just steps away from the hussle of downtown, then the Towers are your place. If you want to feel like you haven't become a porn star, then I'd suggest you search elsewhere.

We stayed here for one night and loved it. We booked off of hotwire for an amazingly low rate (under $100), and checking in was quick. The front desk staff were very helpful and efficient, giving us some great tips on what to do in the city. Everything is within walking distance, as the hotel is located one block from downtown. We also got a free upgrade to a king suite with a kitchen!

The room was very clean and spacious. We had a decent view of the ocean, and the bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and didn't make us play the typical hot / cold dance most hotel showers do.  If I have one complaint, it's that the tub didn't drain as quickly as I would like, meaning I was ankle deep in water at the end of my shower.

Parking was underground and cost an extra $12 per night, although we could have parked on the street for free. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom Penthouse suites which we got for a good deal through American Express Travel.  It was glorious!  It was a three story apartment that had 1 1/2 baths and a full kitchen which saved us $$ by cooking a few meals ourselves.  The view was amazing, overlooking the inner harbour and Victoria central.

There was a running path across the street that went around the harbour and was a lovely run.  The walk into downtown was a short 10 minutes and took us by the Parliament building which was festively lit for the holidays.  Two blocks from the hotel was the stop for the horse drawn carriage rides and just beyond Parliament is the Museum.  Truly, the location of this hotel can't be beat.

The bar had good service and average drinks.  The restaurant was okay, but pretty generic.

The only bad thing I can say (hence the knocked off star) is that the maid forgot to come one day and it happened to be a day we were having a party in the room.  We  called down and asked them to send up the maid who showed up, changed the towels, made the bed in one room and left.  I had to clean the dishes and rest of the apartment in 15 minutes before the guests arrived.  Not what you'd expect if you're paying for a Penthouse, but I'd still stay here again because the rest of the experience was perfect.

Nice hotel, kind of dinky, kind of old. Really nice, helpful staff. The rooms (at least mine) had a balcony, but with a view of the back of another building, the TV was old. Pretty standard for a 3 star hotel.

Great location, about a 5 minute walk from downtown Victoria.

Pretty standard for what you pay. We were just there to sleep and shower, so it didn't really matter to us.

A passable three star hotel with solid service and huge rooms. My room had a tiny patio with a view of the legislative building dome.

Decor and TVs are older, but they work.

Take advantage of the shuttle van that goes into town by request. Just ask at the front desk.

Pretty nice hotel for the price.  We pricelined this place and for $15 more, they (the hotel) gave us a waterview suite!  The view was spectacular and the room was very spacious.  Will come again for the price!

Stayed here for our anniversary last year and loved it.
We got upgraded to a nice King Suite / w view.  The room was HUGE and great value to the money.

Overall cleanliness was good although it's an older hotel.
Lobby was good and I didn't eat in the restaurant.

I'd come back - so there is my recommendation.

The hotel is PERFECTLY located to downtown and everything is easy walking distance.

If it were 2-3 years ago I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars. These days it's just not what it used to be. The rooms are very basic, maybe it was because we were on a lower floor this time over, it was also not as clean (carpet needed to be vacuumed and bathroom still had hairs in sink).

The toiletries have been cut down to cheap shampoo/conditioner and soap that was definitely not hypoallergenic. You also can no longer smoke on balconies in Victoria (which I don't think is hotel policy, but city policy) so bring the nicorette or be prepared to go outside.

They have a great restaurant on site (only its rather expensive), and to get downtown its only about 10-15 minute walk. If you have a car they charge for parking.

I stayed at another hotel the second night and it was not only cheaper but surprisingly nicer. I would recommend staying here if your on business or only in town for a night or so. Otherwise pay the extra $10-$20 a night and stay somewhere ritzier :)

I can't speak for the hotel rooms themselves, but they sure did host a grand Xmas party. Their ballroom is a perfect size for a party of less than 500 guests. It's broken into two parts. A lovely reception hall where the food and bar are set up, as well as a coat check area. The main room has large tables that'll seat eight very comfortably, a small dance floor and the perfect lighting. The food they served fit into the theme, leaving me to believe they are fairly accommodating in terms of menus. The food was also delicious. It isn't very often I would describe a buffet as delicious, it's usually cold and bland, but the gumbo really had some kick and it actually contained okra. I would love to attend another event here anytime.

I stayed here for a 2 day conference recently. 2 days after I checked out my credit card was charged more than $1600.  I spoke to the desk clerk on a Saturday and faxed my credit card statement. No one called me back for 2 days and I had to call repeatedly finally reaching the general manager.  I had to cancel my credit card which has caused me an inconvenience.   The general manager could not have cared less.  I will never stay here again.
