Located in a tranquil part of Rmd's Terra Nova, a bit posh area w/ its own plaza: Save on Foods.
anyways, let's get on w/ the food. Ordered the spicy tuna roll w/ its own house sauce, nice and high, yet not too big, and fresh avocado. that's the secret. Highly recommended, their signature roll. 8 pieces too, so should fill you up for lunch.
Like the seating by the window..
Richmond yelpers will be lucky to have this one here, it's downtown quality. -

This place certainly looks quite a bit more inviting and cool from the outside.
The food here is kind of a disappointment. I honestly was pretty excited because I always have positive emotions before going into a restaurant. The food quality was ok and the prices were average. I guess I was underwhelmed when we went inside and were finally served. Not a favourite...maybe the management has no idea what people really think. I sincerely hope they can match the inside ambiance and food quality with the catchy outside.Listed in: Japanese Food, My Two Cents…

We had to meet with someone out in Richmond and found out there was a shopping center right near her house. We grabbed a bite to eat before the meeting at Hananoki. It was decent.
The service was quick and friendly, they had our food to us extremely fast and it was pretty tasty. I saw the mango california roll on the menu and it looked so good I had to give it a try. It was delicious! The california roll was coated in nice juicy ripe mango slices as well as a tasty mayo sauce.
We also had the Beef Teriyaki rice bowl with prawn tempura. That was pretty good too. The portions were a decent size and we left there with full stomach's and didn't have to drop a ton of cash. I'm sure this place is popular among the locals who live there. -

Average overpriced food-salmon was overcooked-too much sauce, overcooked rice, overcooked veggies. sashimi ok. What is with the sushi chef screaming at the top of his voice in Chinese at kitchen staff?
