Review from Yane Y.
This review of 5 stars comes after staying here at this hotel a minimum of 12 weeks over 3 years.
As the 3rd person who is reviewing this people, I'm not sure how many times the previous 2 yelpers have stayed here, but I have had an awesome experience here over the past 3 years.
So, let me explain why this place is as good as it gets!
Compared to fancy hotels like the Westin, Four Seasons, etc. of course this place would not compare -- maybe it still would. But as far as upscale decor goes, this is not that place. This is a standard business budget-friendly hotel. Some Hampton Inn's are nicer than otehrs. I would rate this as one of the nicer Hampton Inns.
The reasons why this is as good as it gets:
1) SERVICE: All the associates up front have been very kind. For their regular customers, they try to learn your names over a period of time. I would see the same people over the three year period. And the couple that I did would remember me each visit. If not my name, my face.
2) CUSTOMER APPRECIATION! Every single year I've stayed here (3 years now), they have a customer appreciation in the evenings from Monday through Thursdays. Between 5-7 pm, the hotel orders food from some of the local vendors and you can try some food for FREE! (Some of the foods that have been provided over the past three years are food from Boston Pizza, Mandarin, ....) Also, they bake cookies (oatmeal raisin, white chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate, chocolate chip, etc.) which are at the front desk. And what is my absolute favorite dessert? TWO BITE Muffins. Ooooh, I shoulod do a separate review for those, but they have some caramel in the middle of the muffins. So good.
3) VALUE for the money: This hotel is very reasonably priced. Compared to the other hotels around the area, this place is always a median as far as cost goes.
Have I ever had problems here? No, none that I can remember as being horrible. I'm pretty sure there have been times where I was in a room where the water didn't go down, so I would be standing in an inch or two of dirty shower water, but that kind of thing needs to be told to the front desk employees. If they DON'T do anything with what you've told them, then there's reason for marking them down. However, that sort of thing .. is a control that I'm sure they partially rely on their customers to let them know.
I am still here in my third year and will continue to stay here at this hotel in the years to come!!! -

Pulled into this hotel tonight after a very long day. This hotel was recommended by a colleague. This will be my first and last night here. I booked online directly at Hampton Inn's web site 48 hours ago.
When I arrived tonight at 7:30 pm Eastern, they gave me ROOM 207 which has to be the worst room in this hotel -- there is no natural light. The room is over the carport and the room window is blocked by the hotel's sign.
Supposed to be here 2 nights. Methinks not! I will find a different hotel for tomorrow night.
Too bad for the sales team at Hampton Inn in Kitchener! I will be in the Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario area 3 days per week for next 6 months, starting today. I was going to make this place my destination hotel. NO WAY.
In addition, restaurants around here are "C" quality. A decent cup of coffee is one mile away at Starbucks.
I thought Hampton Inn was a decent brand. I stayed at a lovely Hampton Inn in Williamsville, NY (outside Buffalo) two weeks ago. It was super.
Any suggestions Yelpers for better hotels for business travelers in Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario? -
