I'm the queen of shisha...this is the only place in Vancouver that I can actually say is decent. Let's just say the best of the worst.
Nice atmosphere and good service but CASH ONLY.
If you guys have hung out in shisha cafe's in the Middle East or anywhere else you'll know exactly what i'm talking about.
Shame that Vancouver's stupid laws do not allow others to open more cafe's yet they will allow drug injection sites. -

A little bit isolate, Hafez sits on the Burnaby side of Hastings (phew). It is pretty big for a teahouse and they also offer hookah in a variety of different flavors (mint and double apple are the 2 best!). They have a selection of games and cards to amuse you as you smoke the night away sipping on your tea.
The owner is usually the one that is there, and is very nice. He's always able to give you his opinion on what the hottest flavors are at the moment... although most people have their own favorites, sometimes its nice to try something new. On weekends though, you want to try to get here a little early, because it gets full fast!
