Fresh Homemade tortillas and chips!
I found this market when I moved up here living in West Seattle 2 years ago and it's as closed as it can get for handmade tortillas and fresh carnitas!
There deli has some big tortas and some pork chicharones with a good variety of dishes but most of them are gone by noon. The carneceria's got some good marinated meats my favorite's there chicken.
So you ever down in South Seattle be sure and stopped by, ohh I forgot to mention there homemade tortilla chips and salsa really take me backed home!! -

Probably my most favorite places to shop for Mexican goodies. The fresh meat selection is great, the bread selection wonderful, and the cakes are delicious! Oh and the fresh made tortillas, to live for! Only drawback is the restaurant is attached to the market in a strange way. You have to order, get in the grocery line to pay and then get your food. It makes so that you don't want to order any pre-made food. I shop there frequently and will continue to do so.

The deli or cocina or whatever you call it is dreadful. Just dreadful.
Also, a bit of chilango picoso attitude at the meat counter that might rub you the wrong way, at least it does my Mexican spouse.
As far as the rest of the grocery store goes...it's fine. Too bad, it's not PC to stock "Negritos" in Mexican supermercados in the United States. I have to be in Mexico to find them. A negrito is a doughnut shaped liked a little hot dog bun, with chocolate icing and a chocolate filling. Negritos are made by a company named, ahem, "Bimbo". -

This place is our Seattle tamale headquarters. They have good prepared masa and it was amply stocked on Christmas Eve...a minor Christmas miracle. They also have a wide dried pepper selection: New Mexico, Pasilla, Ancho and Chipotle. They also have dried corn husks, big kettles, and the other basics. If you're making tamales, you'll dig it.
Beyond the wide world of tamales, many folks appearing to be going there for mexican pastries of which they have a wide assortment. -

I was throwing a surpise party last month and I really wanted to find a pinata. I searched West Seattle, and then headed south. Stopping in lots of places in Burien, I looked and looked, but no Pinata.
Then I found Lady Guadalupe--- Pinata Heaven. I got a giant bear pinata, wearing tan pants and a big smile, for 20 bucks. Perfect. (I resisted the giant pink kitty pinata somehow.)
I also got a nice bag of fresh tortilla chips, some lovely cilantro for cheap, and good jalapenos. Love it!!! -

The carnicería is alright. I've bought some well prepared chuletas adobada and carne asada from 'em and they grill up great. Burien is a pull but as long as I'm living in West Seattle the run down south is doable.
There's a subtle pinche gabacho subtext to the place. Don't get me wrong, it's not overt and doesn't stop me from coming back. My Spanish sucks, figure if it was better than I'd be able to swing a different dynamic compared to both buyer & seller using a secondary language. -

Great prices, lots of sweet breads, a taqueria, it's a great place! It's a bit odd that things like seeds and pepitas are hand bagged in zip lock bags. Nice staff, very helpful and friendly. They make fresh tortillas and chips there, which I bet are very good, I didn't try them.

After all of the reviews of the homemade tortillas I got excited, but really they are only corn and all corn tortillas are about the same to me - decent, but nothing spectacular. I wish they made fresh flour tortillas. I need to try the tamales, but they are only open on certain days of the week.

I like this store for the candied fruits up front by the counter.I tried the flan it was ok.The tortillas are too expensive IMHO.Looking forward totrying the tamales from the deli recently was $12.99 for a doven.Might get them cheaper in White Center somewhere. My only complaint so far is that everytime I go there the prices are different,I don't know why,it might just be the cashier, but I'vee seen others cringe at the final total too so check your reciept.
