All grocery outlets have different stuff. This particular grocery outlet has small appliances so I was able to buy a toaster oven that I've been wanting for over a year. And at a smoking hot price! I am so happy...

They also had about two aisles of cleaning supplies and lots of great foods at cheap prices. I only wish they had more organic produce. Typically bananas are the only thing they have in organic.

Who doesn't love the Groce Out? This place is seriously awesome. I can hardly believe that Erin V. gave out only 2 stars with such a rave review. Come on, hash browns the size of a sleeping bag, that's worth at least 4 stars right there.

The really funny part is that my friends and I consider Burien Groce Out to be pretty classy compared to some of the others. The late Rainier Groce Out for example was a gold mine for amazing discoveries. Once I found $0.50 pints of vegan ice cream, a whole isle of $1.00 Toms of Maine natural toothpaste, and Amy's Vegan Pizza's for $3.00 each.  (I miss you, Rainier Groce Out...)

Yes, this is not your average grocery store. Yes they have cans of mackerel -mayo. But it's also a great place to find awesome organic and vegan items that didn't sell in the south or whatever for bargain basement prices.

It's like the island of misfit groceries.

Grocery Outlet is a large, chaotic, slightly grungy repository for failed foodstuffs.

If you are looking for a tidy layout and predictable staples, you have come to the wrong place. Much like Big Lots, the inventory is a constantly rotating litany of overruns and discontinued items. The merchandise is haphazardly arranged and unkempt.

If, however, you need a few cases of synthetically-flavored chocolate pudding in a tube, or perhaps fish sticks coated in brightly colored confetti jimmies (the disturbing disclaimer "Not sweet - just fun!" is permanently seared into my memory), then this is the place for you.

Lookout for expiration dates - they vary from the recent past to the frighteningly distant future. But if you're feeling adventurous, and can't pass up a package of frozen hash browns the size of a sleeping bag, then you're in luck.

Points for being a great place for adventurous (and humorous!) browsing.

This is the only place that I do my bi-weekly grocery shopping.  It is the best place in the world to fill your freezer.  Plus, I can afford trendy lunch snacks that my kid wants without having to pay the trendy price.

Thanks for being a budget saver in messed up economic times Grocery Outlet!  Please build one in Renton now so that I can stop driving to Burien!

We have been going for years or it seems.  This is the first place you should go before hitting Safeway, QFC, FM etc.  Then what you cannot find here fill in with the others, but you must go here first.  Love this place.

I love the grocery outlet. I think some of them are tidier than others, but in the long run, it's like shopping at Big Lots or an Army PX or any discount place. You get what you get. I've gotten really good deals on name brand things- I once bought a Fischer Price Toy for a friend's baby and saved a ton of money on it.

The Grocery Outlet used to just sell canned and frozen stuff. Slowly they've branched out to having some fresh stuff. You can save a lot of money on salad fixings and other produce (limited menu there but it's better than nothing) and on meat, milk and dairy products.  I've bought a lot of really nice gourmet type things. Sometimes they have frozen bone in hams that are excellent.

When I shop at the Grocery Outlet, I start out there, and then go over to Saar's (very near there) or Trader Joe's (also nearby) or to a regular supermarket for everything I couldn't get at G.O. Usually I don't have to buy very many other things elsewhere- some, but not too many.

I LOVE the Grocery Outlet.  If you like those fancy, all natural. or organic lotions, soaps, shampoos but don't wanna pay $9 plus for 'em - go to the Grocery Outlet.  I have found all sorts of cool stuff in their personal care section.  Beats Big Lots or places like that.  You never know what you're gonna find!  Often I can stock up on basics like Tom's of Maine toothpaste for about $2.50 each.  Those run upwards of $5 @ Target.  It kicks ass.  Ain't fancy, but no bargain huntin place is!
