As I walked in this place, I knew I was in for a treat. This is like a sophisticated candy shop, with different candies in jars sold by the weight, and lots of very unique candies/ chocolate from all over the place.
There's no generic gummy bears or kit kat bars, instead, you will be offered fresh jams and jellies, sweet spreads, and sweet delicacies. Hammond's candy, Fentiman's soda, Truffle Pig chocolate....Simply a great place to purchase anything unqiue & sweet! -

The store's tagline is sugar and spice and all things nice. It is located right next to Cafe Artigiano on Broadway. The window display is attractive. All looks promising and I can't wait to enter. Alas, the inside this store bears a resemblance to a really high-end designer clothes boutique, lots of floor space with just a few garments - except this is a candy and spice shop.
I pull for places like this to succeed. You can tell that the little store is lovingly planned by an eager owner with a dream. Unfortunately to me, the dream is a little unfocused and definitely understocked. High end European candies are interspersed with spice mixes. Tiny packages of French bonbons are meticulously hand tied with ribbons but carry lofty price tags. The one treat I looked for that would be a natural in this store they did not have, nor did they have anything similar. Maybe as the store matures and they start generating some revenue they will get more stock and I will have a more compelling reason to return. -

This story is pretty and a nice alternative to other candy stores. I'm confident that it will get better and better as more people catch on. It's a nice addition to the neighborhood and I really hope it does well. I plan on doing most of my Easter goodie shopping here.
