I have to say, I love this place. I got there at 8 pm on a Sunday, and although it was empty, there were still plenty of food choices.
A great salad bar, and everything that has dairy is clearly labeled. I chose a variety of cooked vegetables, quinoa salads, and tofu dishes. I also couldn't steer away from their samosas! Vegan, and loaded, these were some of the best samosas I've ever had. Delightfully deep-fried, without the hard thick dough layer, they were flavourful, filled with mashed potatoes, peas, and great spices.
They also had a display of vegan cakes a pie. I couldn't help myself, and decided on a piece of their blueberry dairy-free cheesecake. It was interesting, and good. I've had better, but I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to have a piece of the pie.
About pricing, I honestly found it quite cheap. I loaded my plate AND got 2 huge samosas for under 16 bucks. The service was alright though. The till guy was very sweet, but spoke terrible English, so when he ran out of soy milk, and I told him to bring my Chai tea without, he had a hard time managing...
All in all, great place. I honestly can't wait to go back. -

Okay... something about paying for food by weight takes all the fun out of a buffet table. That and by 8pm all the food under those lights looks tired and old.
My friends were eating so I decided to try a few things--just to nibble on. I grabbed a small bowl (and we're talking about 3/4 to half the size of of a regular bowl) and put small samples in. I figured this over-heated vegetarian food would taste average at best. I was happy to be proved wrong.
Though my tiny bowl came to over $8, everything in that bowl tasted incredible. The standout was the coconut pasta. I need this in my life on a weekly basis.
The atmosphere? Woodsy, granola, felt like a retreat centre at a remote camp. Now if I was at a camp I would have loved it, but the high price for the poor presentation and rustic-cafeteria feel isn't a big draw. The taste of the food is worth saving your stomach for if you're coming for a Semperviva yoga class. Great way to wind down after a relaxing session.Listed in: Vegetarian Fav's, Kitsilano, Cafeteria Gems

I'm not a vegetarian, but when my vegan friends took me to this restaurant I was tres impressed. It's a nice, cozy little place that's just above the dollar store (at least, I think that's what's on the lower level) in Kits.
The lighting is just dim enough to make the atmosphere even more cozy, and they have big wicker chairs at some of their tables by the large window. Sit there, it's more fun!
It's basically a green buffet, so you just choose everything you want, they weigh it, and then you pay for the weight of your food. It's best to pace yourself, and make sure you don't take too much because the pennies for the weight can add up.
The food was delicious; everything was crisp and fresh. The best part was the yams! The service was also very warm and friendly, and they explain how it works to you if you've never been here before. -

I love eating here! They have the BEST samosas with the mint chutney! LOVE IT! All their items are healthy and taste great. I will keep coming back again and again!

I used to go there often. One day, instead of playing the usual music, they played rap music with F words. Since I needed to wait for my mom to come back from the washroom, I suffered for the duration of the wait. So, I avoided that place for years.
This week, I decided to try it out again. It was a pleasant surprise. Same dishes as years ago. However, enjoyable music for a change!
The buffet is by weight. I really like their vegan dishes. It is good that there are enough tasty vegan options so you don't have to eat just one or two items. I think you pay a bit more than at a food court, but it is not expensive when compared to what you get. -

Cozy space (formerly Woodlands) is so much better than their old spot across the street. Delicious aromas as you enter. We dropped our kids off for yoga in the room beside and decided to come back to eat because it smelled so good. Salads, pasta, eggplant moussaka, dahl, etc. etc. Desserts were yummy too - blueberry pie, strawberry cheesecake, soy rice pudding...and really good coffee. Nice vibes too.

All of the options here are at least veggie friendly, which makes coming here a treat. I'm not generally a fan of all veggie restaurants, because flavour is always lacking, but this place goes all out with being creative.
The buffet service is great, but you do buy your meal by weight, so be careful - don't get too greedy, cuz the $$ does add up. I'm always a victim of that and end up buying too much, but leftovers never hurt!
The favourite part of the meal for me is their vegan blueberry pie. Definitely save room for it - super tasty!! -

mmm, who doesn't like a buffet style kinda food... but wait! you gotta watch how much food you wallop onto your plate since you pay by weight!
my friend who LOVES this place introduced me to this place. at first, i was like, WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN A VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT?! so if a meat-lover like him likes this place so much, it can't be that bad.
its very chill, relaxed...you come in, pick your plate, pick your foods (all labeled with names and tells you whats in it...very good), then pick where you wanna sit. you basically serve yourself.
i must say, the 2 or 3 times we went, i really enjoyed myself. i really piled my plate high with almost everything that looked good (i like variety! so getting to sample a little bit of everything is a HUGE bonus for me!) and downed every last bit.
definitely not your fancy-schmancy place to eat. -

This must be one of Vancouver's original Vegetarian eateries, and although the food is tasty, it's not nearly as elaborate and flavourful as some of the more modern restos in the city. You pick your food from a buffet here, and pay by the weight (I agree, it adds up quickly!). Once you sit down with your meal, you can enjoy the quiet atmosphere and marvel at a place that is down to earth and not about selling you a lifestyle with your meal, how novel!
