I had an extremely surprising chicken Caesar salad (minus the gluten-croutons) for lunch from here.
I've grown accustomed to receiving sad excuses for Caesar salad from most little cafes in the downtown core, so when I was presented with my salad at Green Mango that was twice as big as expected, with about three times as much chicken as I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was also really tasty, not just ordinary deli chicken. And when I requested some Louisiana to spice things up, they gave me about 1/4 cup of it! On the side of course.
I recommend this place because of the friendly service, nice sized portions, and a chicken Caesar that doesn't look or taste like every other cafe's Caesar salad in the area. -

As I feared, the Green Mango has been sold. The disinterested service last month provided by a young woman who was busy on her laptop tipped me off along with the dirty dishes sitting on tables and now the news has been confirmed. Many of us will miss the owner who was a fixture and knew his customers. For some of us, food was part of the equation and the congenial and sophisticated owner was the other part.
The service as of mid-May has improved and the suppliers appear to be the same as before. But so far the aura is somewhat flat. Though the small fish tank is a nice touch.1 Previous Review: Show all »

The window of Green Mango beckons passersby off the street, encouraging us to "expect something different." So I let my imagination run wild with dreams of Vietnamese bahn mi or Thai goodies and all the tropical fantasies that "Green Mango" conjures.
Turns out, the cafe serves up traditional barista-ed brews, baked goods and the standard trinity of sandwiches, salads and pastas. So a half Ceasar, half linguini pasta special it was. Out I ambled through the quaint interior replete with comfortable tables and a single loveseat, to one of the deux patio tables.
The wi-fi was a win. I joined several other laptoppers in surfing while other patrons munched and conversed happily. The staff radiated an affable air of welcome, and brought my meal out with flourish. This is where the fourth star drops: the salad was overly dressed and the linguini was barely nukewarm.
Green Mango, where's my something special? Try out one or two simple ethnic dishes, and make that name proud!Listed in: Visting Vancouver!

Cute little coffee shop to go to for a quick snack and cofffee. They have sandwiches and pasta salads now that I didn't see before. The prices are fair and the manager is always super friendly and knows a lot of the regulars who comes in.
Ordered a mocha and it wasn't overly sweet like Starbucks does it. Milk was nice and foamy. The bacon eggers must be a favourite because they were one of the only things sold out in when we stopped in.
They recently changed their signage... I think it is because they now do catering which they do not do before... so it's something to consider for businesses if they are looking for a group lunch at the office.Listed in: World away from Starbucks..

I really like the name of this place- it creates such a strong visual. Though I didn't have anything with mango.
This cafe is open during the week to serve the working community in this area. They carry the traditional espresso drinks and a number of sandwiches and soups.
The staff is very pleasant and friendly, and you'll often see the owner working alongside them. -

The colors of this café drew my attention for the boldness of the tropical-hued orange and green. There is free wireless and a good selection of eats and drinks.
Smoothie options nicely balance the normal coffee and espresso drinks. I just had the house blend -- a JJ Bean coffee -- yet it isn't brewed nearly as well as the coffee at JJ Bean café location. While I'm confident I could pick a cup out of a line-up that's made at JJ Bean, the coffee loses it complex enchantment here. Too bad, but a nice effort to buy quality beans at least.
The barista seemed out of his depth: proceeding with a bumbling charm. He really wanted to be a good host and I appreciate that. After apologizing for the wait, he quickly served me by coffee.
I don't think I'll make the effort to return here, but once the summer sunshine hits perhaps I'll come back for a taste of those blended drinks. -

A classmate of mine walked into the computer lab with a divine cheesy scent one day. Enticed, I followed my nose to his computer and asked him, breathlessly, "What IS that?"
He said it was a baked cheese ravioli from the Green Mango cafe.
This was about one month ago.
A week or two later, I was in the mood for cheese and pasta, and I knew just what I wanted. I walked over to Green Mango and I saw the dish on the menu, twice.
So, I asked for it.
"Sorry," The dude behind the counter spits out nonchalantly, "We haven't had it on the menu in months."
WHAT? If you haven't had it on the menu, TAKE IT OFF THE DISPLAY! -

Friendly and clean, complete with JJ Bean! I was on-the-go, and they were fast (although I was the only one in line at the time) This would be a great place to spend a rainy Vancouver afternoon, quietly pecking away at the keyboard. My only suggestion would be, if you're a strong Americano kinda yelper like me, to either ask for a double shot or request the small size. Mine had too much water for my liking but the coffee was a decent flavour!

Found this place at random while out walking on Davie St. Staff was very friendly and food was quite awesome. Had the veggie sandwich and some type of thai-influenced soup with chicken and veggies in it. Great, complex flavors in everything. Next time I'm in Vancouver, I'll definitely go back.

I can't believe how incredibly rude the owner of this establishment was! I had an egg sandwich there one day and it was thrown in the microwave, the english muffin wasn't toasted properly, it was the worst I've ever eaten! The owner was obnoxious, rude and very over bearing, I live in the area and rarely ever see anyone in this place.... I'm not surprised and I wonder how he keeps his doors open.
He really needs to work on improving his customer service skills, not to mention his cooking skills.
Don't bother with this joke of a "cafe", there are so many better places just a few minutes away, such as the great shawarma shop just around the corner on Davie Street.
