Good Vietnamese place with a really clean and beautiful menu.
The salad roll was one of the best I've had.
Everything we had was great. Too many things on the menu which we are going to go back to try. -
Review from Larry L.
This place used to be great. When they first opened up, I loved it!
I sitll like it alot, but the last time we ate there it seemed it was getting tired.
We had a group of 7 of us. Just after the Tsunami that hit Japan we had brought family there to try Vietnamese food since it's not as popular there as it is here.
I had the Papaya salad, which I always have. This time however, it didn't seem as fresh as it used to be. And of course this time I was more concious of the sugars in the food so I had to drink alot of water and tea to compensate for that.
The Papaya salad I had always thought was their signature dish.
I still think it is.
The rest had ordered rice dishes in a combo with lemon grass chicken or beef and some soups for the kids. The kids liked the meatball noodle soup.
And for the first time, they had the Vietnamese coffee. They loved the idea of it having to drip into the glass with ice and patiently wait for it before they could stirr it up and drink.
Another neat thing about this place is the condiments that are on the table.
You get pickeled jalepeno peppers. Yes!
If not for the sticky tables and the cold corner that we had to sit in, we probably would have enjoyed it more.
So food, 4 stars in general.
My salad dropped to a 3 star.

Not as good as the Kingsway location (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) for three reasons:
- Bo Luc Lac ('Shaken Beef') - had it at the Kingsway location before and it was awesome. Here - the rice was soggy and overcooked and not much tomato flavour. Portions seemed bigger though - but I rather have better rice.
- Service is not as good as Kingsway location - took us a while to flag down the waitress to grab our bill.
- Dining room is not as clean and inviting as the Kingsway location
Odd fact: For some reason, there are three chairs placed in the men's restroom facing the toilet bowl. Storage overspill? Waiting room? Audience seats? Who knows...
Overall, I guess not bad - but it unfortunately has to live up to its' Vancouver namesake -- which I'm very fond of.Listed in: Nam-couver

I used to go to Kingsway's one and found it has another shop at Richmond. This is the first time I came here, however, I found quite disappointed.
Menu was the same, however, the soup base and taste wasn't good as Kingsway one.
The service was slow and bad. The waitress was passed over the hot bowl of noodle to me instead of put on the table. -

Until now, eating Vietnamese food for me only consisted of pho, pho and more pho. Despite the fact that the other Vietnamese restaurants I have been going to had other dishes on their menu, the eating environment sure did not inspire any confidence in me to try anything not in boiling noodle soup. Hey, at least it's been boiled right?
Lemongrass is like a refreshing perspective on Vietnamese food: Fresh and clean. Portion size and taste is proportionate with the price you pay. No more funky fishy smelling sauces -- food here is authentic.
If you are a stickler for pho, Lemongrass has just as many different varieties of pho on their menu. But for those who are interested in seeing the other side of Vietnamese cuisine, their Basil Beef entree and Green Papaya salad is definitely a must-try. Spring rolls is definitely a good appetizer to start if you have a party of more than 3. One order can usually feed 3 to 4 people -- unless you've got someone who's a fried food lover (in that case, get two orders just in case). The Avocado shake is another must try -- filled my appetite halfway even before the food arrived.
Great place, great food. What's even better is that after eating pho here, I do not get the lingering smell of beef in my clothes, which always make me put the clothes through the washer right away when I get home. -

Cool little place for Pho in the center of Richmond. Limited parking, but there's ample street parking around. In its own little house, Green Lemongrass feels different than other Vietnamese restaurants.
It's a small place, with about 40 seats in total. Tonight, being a Monday, it wasn't too busy and we got a seat quickly.
Menu has quite a bit of selection-the usual pho, vermicelli, rice, and they also have entree dishes. They also have satays as well as this papaya salad, and grilled shrimp on sugarcane that I've always wanted to try, but still haven't.
We got an order of the Vietnamese spring rolls-filled with pork, carrot, jicima, mushroom and onions. As usual, this was served with nuoc mam. I love that sauce! I got a lemongrass chicken with rice, and I add an egg to it as well. He gets the large Pho noodles with rare beef.
For drinks, I get my favourite avocado shake, and he gets a Vietnamese coffee.
The drinks and spring rolls arrive first. I love the avocado shake here! Smooth, creamy, a hint of sweetness with the flavour of avocado taste.
Spring rolls are yummy, light crisp shell, with a tasty filling.
The lemongrass chicken on rice is not the best I've had, but it's still not bad. It also comes with soup and a small side salad. Chicken is juicy, and flavourful. The plate is also just the right portion.
Another good pho place in Richmond. Try the avocado shake here! -

For years I was fooled by the name of this restaurant. "Lemongrass" - there's no Vietnamese word anywhere on the sign, so how authentic can it be??? How wrong I was...
Let me tell ya, this place is AUTHENTIC. I was in Vietnam recently and every time I go to this restaurant, I feel like I'm back in Vietnam!
They have options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. If you don't like something in a dish, you can ask them to leave it out or sub it (most Viet restaurants will do this if you ask). I love ordering their rice dish with a fried egg on top of it - then drowning the dish in their special sauce. Yummy!
I particularly like this Richmond location because of the decor, and the staff is soooo friendly.
I highly recommend this restaurant. -

the spring rolls are to die for, but the noodles are really so-so... it's quite expensive for a large, but small portion, bowl.

I have been to this restaurant several times since February 2010, and each visit leaves me anxious to return! I would highly recommend the vegetarian pho, vegetarian spring rolls and fried tofu on vermicelli, any chicken dish, and definitely the sub sandwiches! superb quality and value. Staff are friendly and attentive from beginning to end, and will make sure that you have a constant supply of complimentary hot tea and excellent service. I love you, Green Lemongrass!

not a bad place for PHO. been here several times as it is close by...limited parking, food is good, price is right. i gave it 4-stars because it is above average (7/10), better than most PHO places that pump out quantity and not quality.
