Review from Dee B.
I love this salad bar mostly for the humus, taziki and shawarma. It's also one block from my office.
The guys that run this place are really lovely as well. I usually hit this salad bar up about once a week.
I give it a yummy rating, but if you are in there for longer than 3 minutes, you will smell like grease and garlic for the rest of the day. -

Dropped in to this spot on a whim with a work colleague. We were actually aiming for the sushi place next door, but the second we saw the appetizing pictures of the exotic food that could be ours we decided to check it out. What a great whim!
Neither of us went for the salad bar, but it looks great. Fresh looking ingredients and you are charged by weight. Instead we checked out the menu and both of us decided on the Vegetarian plate at $7.95 . What a treat! Three Felafel's atop a colourful array of salads with Humus and Pita bread. I wish I could name you all the different ingredients in our meal. As my colleague put it, "This is amazing! The flavours are just dancing on my tongue!" It really was a delicious meal...and filling! I'm writing this 4 hours later and I'm still feeling satisfied.
I wish I worked closer because I'd be a regular! But I'll be back! -

This super-cute little lunch cafe near Coal Harbour offers Mediteranean food and a salad bar. They sucked me in with a soup and sandwich combo offering a chicken shawarma wrap and lentil soup - now that cheered up my rainy day.
The place appears to be family-run (i.e., multigenerational staff bearing strong resemblances) and is clean, bright and cheery. Stumble across it if you're after a quick, cheap and tasty (and let's not forget healthy) lunch in a kinda soulless section of downtown.Listed in: Participation Ribbons: The…

Tried this place out this week as it is beside work and were I just moved to. The salad bar looks very appetising and includes fresh fruit that you can also have turned into a smoothie. Having said that I went for a chicken shawarma wrap and it was delicious, will definitely be a regular here.

Review from Mina B.
just went there and got a falafel sandwich and a salad from the salad bar.
the falafel was good and a great deal for $5.50.
my small salad cost me less than 3 bucks and was great.
i've been there before and had a panini and a soup. great food great deal but the owner must have changed since then. -

This is not actually a check-in, but I AM actually eating their falafel as I type this, and I CAN actually see the Green Leaf Salad Bar store front from my window. I haven't popped in there more than 2 or 3 other times but their salad bar looks fresh and the falafel I'm eating is pretty darn good.

I'm actually behind my computer eating one of their chicken shawarmas as I write this. I've been here maybe 3 or 4 times now, and I've always gotten the chicken shawarma - usually when it's crappy out and I have a craving for one but I don't want to make the trek to Babylon Cafe. There's absolutely no comparison, but that's not to say their shawarmas are bad, the BC is just a hard act to live up to. This place is the very definition of mom and pop cafe, with their daughter working behind the till as well, all of them coming across as very genuine and friendly. The first thing I will mention about their food though, is that each time I've gotten a wrap, it has progressively gotten noticeably smaller and lighter each time. I understand we're not living in the easiest economic times, and people are going to try and cut costs where they can, but this sort of thing irks me and seems a bit underhanded. I would much rather pay a bit more and get the same amount of food as before. Next is the quality of the food. The shawarma is pretty good, with just a few ingredients which can actually be a good thing, however the chicken lacks that delicious golden brown look from BC and is kept in a covered warming tray which gives it a slightly limp, gray, soggy texture. Still, I will probably come back when I'm hit with a craving, but definitely not the best shawarma in Vancouver.
