Okay. So I work directly across the street from this place, so I've been there a couple of times. A lot of my coworkers are regulars there and eat maybe 2-4 times a week there for lunch and stuff. Often it lasts them for two lunches.
I've been there twice, both during dinner. The people who work there give quick service and are understanding if my coworkers are short of cash sometimes, they just leave a tab and pay extra next time they go in. It's a great deal for the price you pay.
At night, they give you soup, small bowl of fried rice, and these really yummy flaky biscuits. You pick your own foods (noodles, meats, veggies, sauces) with a chart of different flavours you can make with the sauces there. The cook there by the huge round stove? pan? (not sure what to call it) is usually quite friendly.
My boyfriend doesn't really like this place that much, he says it gave him a stomachache last time we went. But I've never had a problem like that and neither have my coworkers.
This place is very filling and gives quick service! Would recommend if you have friends who are picky about what they eat. -

Food is nothing to write home about - its a simple stir fry you could just as easily make at home - but the Great Wall Mongolian BBQ is a sure bet if you're in the area, and want something quick, cheap, and filling.
As with all the other Mongolian BBQ joints in town, you fill your bowl with your choice of vegetables, noodles, meats, and sauces. You then take it to the "chef" at the front of the restaurant, who cooks your chosen ingredients on a giant, flat pan. It's quite entertaining to watch the cooking process, then to see your food collected back into a bowl with some flair (you'll see what I mean).
The best part of this restaurant are the specials: $7.95 lunch special which includes a bowl of stir-fry and complementary rice, soup, and spring rolls, or just $9.95 for all-you-can-eat stir-fry. You won't leave this joint hungry. -

I'm a big fan of the "make it yourself" style of food preparation, although it makes me think I should do it at home -- but I don't have a big cool flat cooking surface to cook it on there. It's as much fun for the experience as the food, and really, you have only yourself to blame if the food is terrible.
It can get pretty busy on weekend nights, I've had a few evenings where I spent more time in line than I did eating, but it's always a fun night out regardless. -

Totally mediocre Mongolian.. and frankly a bit dirty.
Also, I couldn't actually find a sign with the name of the restaurant, all I found was "Mongolian BBQ" written everywhere and shredded carrots on the floor.
But it did the trick, it was satisfying-- just remember to add extra sauce to your concoction or you will be greatly disappointed. -

2 stars is a little harsh, I'd give 2.5 if I could, especially since Great Wall isn't trying to be anything flashier than it is. No nonsense, just heaps of frozen shreds of meat for an insanely low price.
Still, I suppose it does grow dim in the shadows of Mongolie Grill. It doesn't help that everything just seems duller and dirtier.
For $11.95 folks line up to pile on limitless amounts of veggies (mushrooms, baby corn, bean sprouts, zucchini, broccoli, bok choy, spinach, cabbage) fried noodles and meat shavings (lamb, chicken, beef, pork) to be stir fried at the end of the line.
Warning: when you get to the sauce section, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, improvising will likely leave you with an almost inedible dish.
Limitless soup (egg drop and recycled meats), rice (re-fried rice with egg) and mongolian biscut (dense pastry with sesame topping) accompany your meal.
If it's your first bowl, you're allowed to pack it up and bring it home, if it's your second, you better be ready to finish it or pay a fine! -

I really can't write an objective review of this place. It's my comfort food. I always load my bowl with noodles, beef, spinach, courgette, tomato, tofu, carrot. I try out different combinations of seasonings and sauces, but ALWAYS put on plenty of garlic, and shake on some sesame seeds at the end. It's nice when they have the pineapple cubes too.
Yes, it gets grubby towards the end of the day, but the food is really cheap. Nothing you couldn't make yourself if you got the ingredients and have the right equipment to stir fry. And yet... it's so good.
I think the staff have changed recently too. I remember them being friendlier and more attentive. -

Pretty grubby spot staffed with very friendly, cool people. Nothing particularly stuck out food-wise, but it's all you can eat, and there's enough variety for at least two bowls. A nice alternative to the American-style buffet. I had never had a Mongolian biscuit before (think: extremely smashed croissant) but found it delicious. They should concoct some dessert using those suckers.

The lunch buffet was very popular at under $10 CAD. However when I returned for lunch another day, my friends were not enthusiastic about the chemical cleaning spray that the restaurant was using. The smell mixed with the smoky food smell and was unappetizing.
