The local joint for Hillhurst Sunnyside, trust in the Grassroots. No ripoffs, they sell local products quite a bit (IE Fisherman and Monkey-paw, along with glass sculpture), have people working who are aware of the reality of their surroundings, and have a fine range of books for sale. The skins selection is wide-ranging, and backed by demand. If you prefer hemp cloth products, Grassroots should be the first place you go. The styles are less fashionable, more timeless. This place understands all that is right about subtlety, being demure, and providing face to face assistance with any desire or problems. More companies should use these guys as a template.
Trust me, you will return to there. -

Simply the best head shop in the city. Situated in scenic Kensington, Grass Roots offers the best selection, the best prices, awesome staff, and everything a hemp enthusiast could ask for. Hemp clothing, incense, and other paraphernalia are draped creatively around their small retail space.
Steve at the counter is one of the most knowledgeable dudes I know. His insight and warm smile are always a warm welcome.
Seriously, there isn't a better place to buy pipes, bongs, or papers in all of Calgary. -

Grass Roots hemp store is a happy little slice of Hippy heaven in the heart of Kensington. It's home to a host of hemp related products, including a nice selection of hemp clothing, incense, how-to books, and yes, even dreadlock wax. They also carry a great selection of pipes, bongs, papers, and paraphernalia. Grass Roots is a holistic hemp experience. Inside and out, the Grass Roots has got your hemp needs covered.
So don't just sit around waiting for next year's Folk Festival - the time is now, man. -

For being a "hemp store" there wasn't very much hemp to choose from. Maybe out of season? I don't know. I was a little disappointed but they had some other goodies and nice glass to look at. It's a little over-priced though.
