    Holy selection Batman!

This was my final stop on the hunt for new frames Monday afternoon.

At first I was a little put off by the sales lady creeping up behind me until I realized she was only checking the types of frames I kept trying on and actually just wanted to help. Hah. I thought she was spying on me.

I wouldn't say yes to anything until I had looked at every single pair of glasses to make sure I wasn't missing anything. She was very patient with me and didn't seem offended by all the frames I turned down.

I finally landed on a lovely pair of Guess frames that I carried around with me for the last 1/4 of my journey through Granville Optical.

The prices are great compared to some of the other stores I checked out. Mine were under $200 and I love them!

I was told they would be ready the next morning for me, and sure enough I got a phone call just before noon letting me know my glasses were ready for pickup!

I'll definitely be back! SO MANY CHOICES!!

I'm all for customer service and I usually complain for not enough... but what is too much? My hubby needs a new pair of glasses and I usually buy my non-prescription contacts here (because they don't require an eye test like other places hehe) so I suggested we check it out for glasses.

We literally just walked in the store and started looking at glasses and right away the guy walked over to us and started suggested glasses and asking too many questions before we even got to check out one pair. We felt smothered and just when we thought we were finally free to browse around, he came back and brought some other glasses for my hubby to try. He just kept following us around the store until we felt uncomfortable and left. We said "thank you" and he seemed kind of angry cause we did not buy anything.

Thanks to him my hubby was in a bad mood for the next hour, and I had to put up with it ha ha.

I'm surprised by all the positive reviews.

The store was empty when I entered and I took a call from my Mom when I was browsing. The salesboy told me to "keep it down" even though I wasn't being loud and even though the store was empty. I finished my conversation anyway.

While browsing, I looked at men's frames. My last pair of glasses were mens and I liked them very much. But the salesboy told me I wouldn't be interested in looking at the men's frames. When I told him, in a very friendly way, that I was indeed interested, he rolled his eyes at me.

He tried to give me advice about what sort of glasses would flatter my face but it was really just a thinly veiled insult. He wasn't attentive to the style of frames I was looking for because it wasn't his style. He was maybe in his early twenties but he acted like a moody teenager. He frequently rolled his eyes and he seemed irritated every time I asked to see a pair of glasses.

Anyone who has gone shopping for glasses knows that service really makes a difference. Even though the selection in this store was impressive, the salesboy I had was beyond intolerable and rude. Two friends joined me in the store, one who was also looking for a pair of glasses, and both agreed that this guy had a terrible attitude.

If anyone else out there has an eye wear fetish - please YELP out! When a friend or family member needs a new pair of specs, I'm the first to lend an eye.

I bought my last pair of spectacles here and absolutely love the sheer volume of frames they have. Please note this store is not for the type of eye wear shopper who gets overwhelmed easily. It's like an all you can eat buffet.

With a fairly knowledgeable staff, even if you are overwhelmed you'll likely still be able to pick out some frames. Once I had described my style a bit they showed me where to start out. Their broad selection would certainly satisfy any face shape, lifestyle and budget.

And if you forget your prescription - no worries. They will contact your optometrist themselves and have the info faxed over.

4 stars for a great selection and an extremely friendly, helpful staff!!

My friend had wanted new glasses for awhile but never really found anything while browsing in other optical stores downtown. When he wanted to go into this one, I thought to myself: "Yeah right!!" The exterior didn't look too impressive and besides, it's on Granville Street... We didn't even have luck with stores on Robson!

Well, it turns out I was very wrong. They had a great selection of eyewear, but what made the difference was the staff - warm, friendly with lots of personality! They were helpful but not pushy, and more importantly they were sincere. I never felt like they were just trying to make a sale, but they just genuinely wanted to help on the dreadful, quasi-impossible quest of finding the perfect pair. Plus, I thought it was a nice change from shopping in stores that try to be so ultra-chic and modern... This place is totally down to earth and laid back.

So with the help of great staff, my friend happily purchased a super sleek, awesome Armani pair - hand-picked and recommended by the staff, and we all unanimously agreed it was THE ONE. It was ready for pick up the next day! I thought the price could have been cheaper, but it was still a nice experience. I'm hoping to get my next pair here.

Crystal's got it right on these guys- they have a huge selection!  I went in there because they had some very cool handmade handbags/totes/luggage in their windows, and ended coming out with a totally adorable new pair of frames.

They give very good service and have a very quick turn-around- 24 hours for me to pick up my new glasses- they must be making them onsite.

I didn't get a new exam- hasn't been long enough- but I'd trust them enough to give them a try.  Nice people!

Best service in the city. They have a very large selection, but the staff is so helpful that your choices will be narrowed down very quickly. They are always ready to help you out with a simple repair, no matter how badly you abuse your glasses! It's so friendly that I wish I had to buy glasses more often.

    Love this place!

The staff is super helpful and friendly, and most importantly, laid-back. This is one of the least pretentious stores in the city, yet with an amazing selection of eyewear. I easily found a pair of glasses that I love and the price was reasonable, especially considering the lightening speed at which they were ready. I had my new glasses by that very evening and couldn't be happier. Awesome.

Classy, fun, sexy. Granville Optical will take care of you in every way. They care and it shows. They've also got great taste. I've had them help me with my glasses over the past few years and I'm stylin' because of them.
