Review from Mercedes G.
Vancouver, BC
While I have come to know that any store that features the name of the tourist destination in its title and the word 'treasures' or 'trinkets' or the like, must be carrying stock that caters to tourists, I couldn't let a silly thing like that deter me.
Granville Island Treasures not only carries a number of touristy items including jade carvings, postcards and the like, but also quite a few unique local artisan pieces. Pottery and a the 'new Vegetarian' leather, cork, were the standout items, the latter being made into bags and wallets. There is also the beautiful if not ubiquitous (and bloody expensive!) Haida art in sculpture, carving and bejewelled form, as well as apparel ranging from all-weather jackets to dresses and stylish hats.
It is definitely worth a look through here, particularly for gift shopping! -
Review from Nadine N.
Vancouver, BC
Granville Island Treasures carries women's clothing, jewelery, and other accessories. Given the location right on the thoroughfare, this store is probably one that attracts a lot of tourists. They do have a cute selection hats and some interesting cork purses.
