Great for picking up groceries if you're short on time, don't feel like going off campus, or if you're just missing an ingredient for a meal.
They have a good variety of fruits and vegetables, but the prices of their bottled and canned items are a bit more pricey than your average grocery store, mainly because some of the brands that they carry are on the high-end gourmet end of the spectrum, though they do carry several brands, which is no small feat for a store this small.
I've also been able to find more specialty Asian ingredients (such as udon noodles) that I couldn't find at Safeway, which is great if I don't feel like dragging myself all the way to T&T.Listed in: From Kitchen to Table

Staff are unbelievably rude and helpful - my son had been picking up groceries today and accidentally got too many things. I went to help and offered the clerk that I could go through the bags and pick out what we needed (around $30 worth of items). She refused because "he has wasted my time enough" and so off we went. Since when does helping a customer count as wasting your time?! I've been going there since they opened in 2003 but this is the last straw. If you do continue to shop here always check your receipt - they often key in the wrong (more expensive) item or enter items twice.

It's the same Granville Island Produce from Granville Island, but it's now on UBC Campus. This is very convenient place for students or staff at UBC to buy fresh fruits, especially locally grown apples. They always have their apples and most of their fruits stored outside. The prices are very reasonable and the fruits are always fresh and sweet.

This shop is a cute mini-grocery at the back of the UBC Village. Is Granville Island really the last word in produce quality? I'm personally not convinced, but whatever, lots of fruit, looks like pretty reasonable prices. I'm actually allergic to raw fruits and vegetables (yes, it's true), so I can't comment too much on freshness and quality... sounds like the previous reviewer had some sour grapes, though. ;p
BUT they also have an actually good selection of canned and dry goods, and a whole bunch of frozen Chinese dumpings etc.: NICE. If you're looking for a can of tomatoes or some buns to steam with your leftovers, look no further. Their selection of Japanese groceries surprised me; they have dry soba noodles, for example, and a shelf full of other stuff I wouldn't have expected to find at a Chinese corner mart.
One of my favourite signs ever hangs behind the checkout counter: "NO MORE THAN THIRTY COINS PER TRANSACTION." Must have happened one time too many...
I've run out here at lunch to buy ingredients for dinner before, and I'm guessing I'll do it again. Granville Island Produce On University, it could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. -

I had gone to this place before and liked them for their variety of Asian snacks and some produce of reasonable quality.
However...Their scale must have been broken this time because the oranges I bought were definitely less than 3lbs, which is what I was charged.
It wasnt busy but the cashiers were too busy chatting with each other to notice me or the serious overcharge. I also looked at my receipt and the change they threw across the table at me--they shorted me by almost a dollar. Were I not running back to work I would have stopped and asked them about it.
I'm sure they'll stay in business because they stock some nifty stuff and they're an oasis on the UBC isle. However, I can no longer vouch for it after being treated poorly and ripped off twice in one visit. ISadly, I'll never go back. -

Good place to get groceries in a quick fix on campus, when your options are slim. It's definitely not a Save-On, but it's easier access if you're on the North side of campus. And on the plus side, you're supporting a small business. I like the selection of brands they carry like Nature's Path, Island Farms, Mario's gelato and Dan-D Pak.
They also have a decent selection of locally produced fruits and vegetables when they're in season. And a small quantity of frozen meats.
This place works, and is much needed in this area of UBC. That's why they've been around for 7 years, whereas most new places in the Village close down within a year or a couple years.
