Thanks to all the reviews from other users, I checked out this place first.
Making a quick call in the morning lead to a nice welcome when I walked in later that day. SUPER friendly and awesome staff. They even lent me the shop car to go grab a coffee and run a couple errands!
The mechanics explained what they were doing and showed me everything in the shop.
I'll absolutely be coming back here to service my vehicles. -

All my friends in Marpole go to this place. There are 2 men that seem like they are in charge, and they always explain to me what has been done to my car and what possibly needs to be done, and why they didn't go ahead and do that more costly procedure this time.
They were recommended to me as trustworthy, and the first time I experienced it for myself was when I had a tire leak and (silly me) didn't know there was such a thing as patching it. They were the ones that told me don't have to buy a new tire.
Also, when my "check engine" light kept coming on, they showed me with a diagram how the belt may be a tooth off or something. I was impressed that they dignified me with a real answer, though I am not a car person.
Recently, my husband went to one of those quick oil change places, and they told us we had a leak that was going to take hundreds/thousand dollars to fix. Granville & Avery said 'Hey, look, a loose gasket. Nothing wrong'.
I admire Granville & Avery for their sincerity and professionalism, not just in the garage but with customer service in the office.Listed in: FTR (or Second or Third)

Thanks to all the 5 star reviews I too found myself going to Granville and Avery Automotive. I had a couple problems and was short on time. First one, a burnt out bulb, was fixed on the spot and at no charge. (I had brought the replacement myself). The second, a smashed up windshield gauge would take more work but I was given a quote on a used one within minutes. Would go back here in a flash.

These guys are great. Family friend sent me here and I couldn't have been happier with the service. I had gotten my car inspected (out of province - so I could plate it here) and they charged me the $100 or whatever, meanwhile they fixed a burnt-out light for free and told me how I could clean off the battery posts with a solution to make the contact better. I'm sure if they wanted (or were someone else) they could have charged me for each. Instead, they won a fan for life.

Thank you to all who reviewed this automotive repair shop, I had taken these recommendations to get my car repaired here too.
What I was happy with was that Jerry and his coleagues was able to properly diagnose the problem with the steering column in my car as opposed to having some inspection done by some auto dealer technician.
They got my car repaired in a day, they even drove me to the skytrain station so that I can get to work downtown.
Honest, forthright and reputable auto mechanics seem to be in short supply everywhere, I'm happy with taking my car to Granville & Avery Automotive and would recommend them to others. -

Jerry was my mechanic for almost 14 years - even before he moved his business to Granville & Avery - in the days when he owned the Jericho Esso station. I first went to him because he was just down the road, but then discovered he was an honest, trustworthy mechanic who always did excellent work. He'd give me a quote on work, and often the final bill would be lower. How often does that happen? There was another reason Jerry earned by loyalty...He had a nice fellow on staff that was 'physically challenged' which many businesses would have relegated to a position in a backroom for fear of offputting customers. But not Jerry, he had this fellow working the front desk, and to me this demonstrated Jerry was man of integrity, with a good soul. It was one of the reasons he earned my business (and other folks in the neighbourhood felt the same way). When Jerry closed his Jericho location and moved to Granville and Avery, I drove way across town to still do business with him. And when my 20 year old car started to need major repairs, instead of seeing it as an opportunity to make a stash of cash off of me, Jerry very honestly said 'Its time to send it to the junkheap'. Yup, the guy is one honest mechanic. He was always conscious of your budget and didn't look for things to repair. I don't have a car anymore (I'm a member of the Canadian Car Cooperative) but was at the Social Media Unplugged conference and someone from Yelp showed the review for Granville & Avery Auto and I boldy yelled out 'They're awesome'. And they are. So even though i no longer need their services, I'm still writing a review. If I could rate them more than 5 stars, I would. Jerry is a great mechanic. Good person. Honest guy. He deserves your business.
