Review from Maria G.
I am giving this place a 5 star mainly because of its service.
Service is absolutely stellar and amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The food do get very pricey. Although I only ordered egg & bacon for breakfast and sushi for dinner, they did get me full. ($4 for one egg, $4 for one small glass of orange juice, $15 average per plate of sushi.) If you want cheaper options, you will have to go through security inside Terminal D and there are some fast food options. Otherwise, to enjoy first rate and class of service, do come here!
I tried its chicken noodle soup, it was so tasteless and bland! Do not order chicken noodle soup. I mean, its complimentary bread and butter make the meal a lot better, but it should not be the way it is. Too bad the soup was just not good. -

Located within the DFW, this restaurant offers a but of an oasis away from the airport. It's a nice atmosphere with a lounge area to relax and watch tv. However, our experience was not the greatest. We decided to sit at the bar...bad choice.
The bartender that day was so unfriendly and looked annoyed to have to serve you. She didn't smile, didn't say hello, barely registered our existence. When we asked for a menu to check out the food, she looked annoyed. When we ordered our food and drinks, she looked annoyed. When I asked for a napkin, she looked annoyed.
Seriously...it's mid-day, we're about to buy your over-priced food and drinks and you're not happy?
The Tuna tower that we ordered was actually quite tasty. We would've ordered more, but just didn't enjoy our experience with the service.
All you need is a smile and friendly attitude to make a person's day, but lack thereof can really ruin it instead. If you wanna hate life, hate life in private - or don't be in the service industry. -

For a 3 day period I was trapped at the DFW Hyatt taking an examination that everyone in my field (hopefully) only has to do once in their lives. The hotel is literally attached to the airport right outside the security gates. Surrounded by a sea of highways, there's no where to go unless to want to take a 10 minute shuttle ride to Grapevine. Dallas is a 30 minutes, $60 cab ride away. No worries, the Grand Met is right here to provide you with sustenance and punish your wallet in the process.
The Grand Met is supposed to be a coffee bar, lounge, and restaurant. It's really just a giant room with a bunch of seats that happen to have these 3 things in different areas. For an airport hotel, the quality of food is pretty good. One night I had a delicious braised veal cheeks appetizer. They also had excellent Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA on tap. There were some missteps. One morning I had eggs benedict and the eggs were cooked the whole way through.
The prices reflect the lack of dining options if you're trapped at the DFW Hyatt. Dinner for 1 can easily run close to $100. Breakfast for 1 is about $25. Way too expensive, but what else are you going to do?
For multiple reasons, I hope to never, ever be back. -

Wait?
What?
I'm at the AIRPORT?
Not possible.
The food (and service) is too good.
We wound up having approximately 30 minutes between our flights to meet our friends EKD and JTD here for appetizers and a cocktail, and the Grand Met (located in the Grand Hyatt at DFW's Terminal D) managed to impress me in both quality of food and service/ambience within that period of time.
Take into consideration that this was directly after a 10 hour flight and then dealing with the clusterfuck that is US customs, with the added fun of being diverted through agriculture after one of the baggage claim drug dogs sniffed out an apple in my purse. I almost ate that goddam apple in line, just to spite them, but my much-more-emotionally-balanced husband assured me that the holding cells at DFW are probably worse than the line for agricultural customs.
So basically, I walked into the Grand Met feeling like this:

...and left full of calamari, delicious chicken tortilla soup, and a guava margarita - feeling more like this:

So dude. I'm a fan.
I hope to be able to have a little more time to spend investigating the Grand Met during my next DFW layover. -

If you happen to be staying at the Grand Hyatt at DFW Airport or actually stuck for many hours at the DFW airport you don't have to worry about gross airport food. The Grand Met is located on the lobby level of the Grand Hyatt and it's pretty fabulous!
Based on the various tables of men in suits sitting around on the Monday night my husband and I dined here I would guess that this usually is a spot for business travelers (makes sense based on the location).
The service was fantastic- the waiters greeted us multiple times by our last name, which was fun for me since I had just gotten a new last name 24 hours prior to dining here!
And the food was terrific. The bread basket totally hit the spot after a long day of traveling and then we ordered the blue crab and tuna tempura, highly recommended by the waiter. Can't go wrong with this appetizer! My husband was full from eating airport food (ick) so he just shared the tempura with me, but I also ordered a tasty bowl of the Aztecan chicken tortilla soup.
After this delicious meal I don't think I'll be minding the next time my flight gets delayed at DFW! -

The Grand Met, located on the lobby level of Grand Hyatt Hotel at the DFW Airport, far exceeded my image of and expectations of a "hotel restaurant" (and an airport hotel at that). No doubt, its target clientele must be business travelers on expense account, thereby justifying the high prices of its menu items. The least expensive entree on the dinner menu (during my visit in June 2008) was the posole spiced pork tenderloin at $30 and the most expensive entree was the iron seared natural NY steak at $52. A variety of starters, soups and salads (between $8 and $14) round out the menu. Many of the offerings are creative and take liberal interpretations of international cuisine (Indian, Japanese, and Mexican, to name a few).
Our server, knowing that all of us are out-of-towners, recommended the filet mignon ($48). The filet of beef (grass-fed) was absolutely the most tender piece of meat I have ever tasted. The accompaniments to the dish, a caramelized onion tart served with mushrooms and mashed potatoes, provided nice variety of taste and texture. Overall presentation of the dish was also impeccable.
Just to make sure that the service was up to par, we gave the servers quite a test on a Friday night, as our group of 15 strolled in at 6 pm, and wanted to finish our dinner in less than an hour so we can catch our flights. The servers were very professional, and met all of our demands throughout the meal. As far as I know, none of us missed our flight that night.
Bottom Line: The Grand Met is a great place to for a unique dining experience if cost is of no object to you. -

Although I only had an appetite for appetizers, everything I had was quite good - white asparagus soup, pork belly, and a nice mushroom dish. I still had time to chill out, so I finished a nice pot of pressed coffee as well. The service was also wonderful, and I cannot wait to come back for a full meal. This place is well above most of what Dallas offers.

I have lunch here once a year before my flight home from an annual business trip to the Big D. It never disappoints. Friendly, caring service, nice decor, great location in the Hyatt inside the terminal.
Great lunch selection of salads, burgers, sushi rolls - all good. Delicious iced tea with choice of flavored syrups. Nice bread basket with addictive feta cheese spread. Much better to spend pre-flight time here than at the gate, for sure. -

San Francisco, CA
The restaurant service and food are very good. But can any of you believe that at this high end restaurant were charging me $53 tips when I just put $3 tips. It was double of what i spent,$22,I found out later on at my credit card bill. I called back to this restaurant's manager for more than 3 times and finally get hold of him. He said there is nothing he can do. Seriously I did not expect things will happen at this kind of restaurant. If you are going to there, make sure they did not over charge you.

No airport food here! A great selection of wine and a very good food menu. I had the Bento Box which included a nice piece of soy-ginger salmon, two tempura shrimp, california roll and small salad. Everything tasted just like it should...but better!
