First, picture your typical run of the mill Chinese buffet; now, add to it roughly 20 pieces of obsolete 80s electronic items, store-bought snack cakes, and leftover Chinese food; AND an earthquake. The end result is Grand Buffet Restaurant.
Upon stepping into the door, the first thing that caught my eyes was a giant plastic gorilla swinging underneath pink neon lights and above a fountain. My first thought was: "is this a Thai jungle-themed restaurant?" I was then brought to my table by their unenthusiastic server/cashier. Behind my seat was a stack of antiquated CRT TVs & ink jet printers, the wallpaper showed signs of deterioration, and there were various nation's flags plastered along the walls. The dinner area was big and could easily fit a 100+ but there were only 20 or so during the night on which I went.
Onto the food, the dimsum section looked like a ravaged war zone. The bamboo cases in which dimsum were served in were half empty and it felt like a game of picking-the-right-case. Even worse, the shrimp dumplings were stale and dried. The discolored salmon sashimi resting under a warm florescent light still had bleeding veins in them. Crab was mushy on the inside. They have an icecream section with EMPTY ice cream containers. The best part of the meal was the store-bought snack cakes and the laugh I got from watching my friends eat their food.
My bill came to roughly $17.50 BUT they expected tips....for a buffet! -

My first time there and will be my last time there. HORRIBLE!!!! Time that I was there was at 11:30 am on a friday. A few customers ( probably regulars) were eating.
First thing that clued me in that this place was not going to be good at all is that the Buffet Steam tables did not have steam coming out of them. All the food looked great in presentation but getting closer to the the table, there was a problem. I touched the metal food trays to feel for some heat. I could actually put my whole hand on in the steam tray. Barely noheat. Very very cold food. Tried some food and everything was like if it was just warmed up like if at home. Advised the waitress and she didn't even look concerned. She told the cook and he turned up the steam table temperature. On top of this, the music was very biblical! Actually words of the lords prayer being in a song.
Paid the bill, 24.00 and didn't even leave a tip. Horrible experience for a few days afterwards. Was very ill.
SORRY BUT NOT GOOD!!!!
