We had brunch/lunch here and were pleasantly surprised. The interior of Grains is bright and airy. The food was excellent for the price. I had a cajun chicken sandwich - the chicken was perfectly done, served on fresh focaccia, and the side greek salad was good and fresh. The menu isn't extensive - sandwiches, salads, soups etc. for lunch - but the items have a little inspiration to them that makes the choices interesting. The service was a bit slow - they needed to go to the back office to print children's menus after we asked, although they had a bridal shower going on so the restaurant was probably busier than usual.
This was a pleasant surprise in suburban Thornhill - we'd like to go again.
