This place is definitely quite decent - I always do come back, however, the food sometimes has been inconsistent. My date once felt a stomach ache after eating their spicy crispy salmon roll, while I ate something else cooked so felt nothing. Other times I have eaten sashimi it is quite fresh, but have heard from my friends that one time they went, they felt queasy about the sushi after. So I think that the fish can be a hit-or-miss in freshness.
What I recommend and tried to be rather good: Kalbi bento box, spicy ramen, dragon rolls (especially black and red), spicy crispy salmon roll (although I stopped ordering this, but another bunch of friends do), boats (generally good if 3-4 people, but I find them just a tad small if you have a party over 4 people) -

Love it. Calm atmosphere great service. The only issue I find is its a little small. So if you plan to go for dinner or lunch for before the rush hours.

I like Gozen, but my family members LOVE it. Two of them have each eaten at two different Nobu restaurants, but they both prefer Gozen.
The menu is large enough to accommodate divergent preferences and allergies. Favourites include the spider roll, the dynamite roll, the spicy crab roll and fantastic, light tempura. Bento boxes include plenty of food and come with miso soup and an iceberg lettuce with ginger dressing.
Price-to-quality ratio is excellent. The seating options include banquettes, tables and two-person booths. There is an outdoor patio, but I have not seen patrons eating on it. No problems with service. -

Surprisingly good sushi.
This place recently moved from its old location off Richmond row. The new space is pleasand and quite a bit bigger than the old digs.
I've been here 2-3 times now, and tried a few different sushi offerings. Each time I've found that everything tasted great. Sushi tastes fresh and nicely prepared/presented. Their lunch specials are hard to beat, with most of them coming in at the $12-15 mark for a full set lunch or bento box. -

I have been to a lot of sushi places, and as much as I want to say something good about this place... there really is not I can say.
We went there for a group lunch, I had a Gozen salad and a rainbow roll. The Gozen salad was tiny for its price, but the tuna was ok in taste and texture. The rainbow roll was surprisingly large and ok in taste. However, I got sick afterwards...
My friend got the maki set and found a earwig in her sushi. It didnt just fall in, it was in the sushi... The restaurant did ok dealing with the situation by not charging for her meal and bringing her a new set.
But I question the quality of raw fish from this place...
Overall, I will not return to this place again. -

I've eaten here at lunch during the week and it's always packed. Tempura is quality. Haven't had any of the dragon rolls or sashimi yet but plan to the next time I go. I'm not a fan of miso soup but do eat it here. Quick and friendly service too. Portions are perfect, not too big, not too small.
