Yum yum! We're novices to Filipino food so the server explained what the food names were and recommended certain dishes. We got Shanghai lumpia (small chicken? egg rolls), sisig pork (fatty and delicious pork on a sizzling plate) and canton noodles. All of it was very delicious. The pork was even better with a little fish sauce on it.
Total was less than $25. The server was helpful and friendly. It's one of those very casual places where they bring out the food as it's cooked so we got our lumpia after we got our noodles and pork. Water was self served - a water cooler and Styrofoam cups - and we paid at the front.
We knew we made the right choice when large groups of Filipino family/friends came in and we had to move to a smaller table to accommodate them. :) -

Vancouver, BC
Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant in Vancouver, and I've eaten at a lot of hole-in-the-wall joints to put it into perspective.
We ordered fried chicken and the BBQ special. They said the BBQ was sold out, so we figured we'd just get the fried chicken to go. We waited for a long time, and eventually got our box. Got home, opened the box, about to dig in... and realized that the fried chicken was two pieces of very burned chicken. So burned that they were black in colour. It's downright disrespectful to serve that to anyone. They would not be able to put that on a plate, serve it and look at the customer in the eyes. Yet they wrapped it in a box and gave it to us to take home. It was an insult, whether it was intentional or not I do not know, as everything seemed OK when we were at the restaurant, despite the fact that the servers didn't pay much attention to us.
There are restaurants that, even though the service is not good, still have some sort of respect for their customers. This place has none. -

Worst Filipino food I have ever eaten.
I was flip flopping between giving this place a 1 or a 2, but I decided on the 1.
My husband and I passed by this restaurant and since we were starving, decided to try it out. We entered the place and the cook and server were standing behind the counter chit chatting. I saw their eyes look at me and I smiled, but they just went back to talking. Finally the server walked over with the menus. I felt awkward, but decided to give them a chance.
We decided on 3 things and the cook brought out the sizzling plate first. He walked away without giving us any utencils. We waited for 2 mins, but nobody came over to give us napkins or forks. I finally walked behind counter and grabbed a set for each of us.
Fried chicken with pickled vegetables and rice:
1 chicken thigh deep fried with no flavour. I felt like I was eating a fatty, oily chicken thigh. The worst dish out of the 3.
Special Pork Hot Plate:
Fatty pork with onions, egg and rice - it was pretty oily and bland. There was again... no flavour except oil.
Pork Dumplings:
This is 4 pieces of Chinese Dim Sum pork dumpling. This was the ONLY thing that tasted good. It also cost almost double the price than of the pork dumplings in a Dim Sum restaurant.
The server didn't come by to ask if everything was ok. We reluctantly finished our food because I hate wasting food. I went up to the counter to pay and promptly left.
Maybe it was a bad night, but I won't be coming back.Listed in: No thank you, ma'am!!!
