Excellent meal on the outdoor patio this afternoon with a good friend.  Surprised to see the dining room was empty and only a handful of customers on the patio.

Suggest this speaks to the large crop of restaurants in the area, including Hawksworth, Black and Blue, Cactus Club and many others.

The seafood Cannelloni was excellent and my friend`a fish and  chips passed the test.  Prices were very reasonable and portion sizes were generous.

Great easy to spend a lunch hour in the sunshine with the entire staff of the Shore Club...thank you and we will be back.

The historic Gotham Steakhouse is now open for lunch, just in time to enjoy its outdoor patio. Now attached through a special doorway to the St. Regis Hotel (from the same ownership), things are ramping up for the upscale steakhouse.

I toured the special dining rooms including the basement club room, reserved for special events and private meetings. I must admit, fanciness aside, they were pretty cool.

Of course, there were ample appetizers and lunch dishes to sample, including sun-dried tomato purée in pastry shells and vanilla battered deep-fried prawns with sweet chili sauce, both of which were smooth and delightfully crisp.

These salmon sashimi crostinis were quite tasty. Everything was classy and delectable with a fine attention to detail and presentation. I absolutely love both lamb racks and tuna tataki. They were delicious and did not disappoint, cooked just right.

The desserts were mighty tasty featuring lemon and coconut tarts as well as Bourbon chocolate brownies with a hint of mint and white chocolate. They packed a refreshing punch.

Gotham's side street building is striking piece of architecture and provides a great dining experience in their loung and dining hall.

I came here for a friend's birthday. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. He knew the dishes backwards and forwards.

I had a cocktail (In the Pink or something of that nature) and the smaller rib in steak cooked rare. I split a side of broccoli with a friend.

The steak was amazing. Possibly the best I've ever had. It was flavorful and buttery and tender and melted in my mouth. The broccoli was perfect. It's so hard to have good broccoli (in my opinion at least) since most places that steam it, serve it that gray-green color. But the broccoli at Gotham was vibrant green and delicious.

My cocktail was the perfect combination of tart and sweet. I wanted a pitcher more.

I had a bite of the Chocolate Bourbon dessert and that was equally on par with the rest of the meal.

Definitely the place for a celebration or a great steak, if you're willing to splurge.

Its been a few years since I tackled the 24oz Porterhouse steak... and it was just like I remembered, the flavours are the best... the side orders of potatoes nuggets fried in duck fat are so so tasty and a great compliment...

The chef did under cook my steak (as expected) so it had to go back for more heat... but the server felt bad and promo a dessert as a result... The G. Mgr also dropped by to make sure it was right the second time.. We watched the Canucks and ate at the bar it was a fine dining atmosphere with the game on .. The over all experience is what I would expect from a high end steak restaurant.

It should be a 3.5 star rating.

I've been here a number of times. The first time I was here for a company's x'mas party. It was more of a cocktail party with open bar, so didn't really get to try an actual meal there. Second time, I was there for a Vancouver dine-out. It was good, but quite frankly, I only remember the New York strip was very tender and juicy and the rest of the meal was not memorable. Over the past weekend, I was there again to celebrate a special occasion. It was my first time to read their regular menu and order something. Wow, that's when I realized how EXPENSIVE it is. The entree doesn't come with any sides, and to add a side, you'd need to pay at least like $7 extra. I definitely took away 0.5 star based on their pricing.

No doubt though, the steak was very very good. I had the petite filet and asked for medium. It was cooked perfectly. The steak was so tender and juicy, and it had just the right amount of seasoning. We ordered 3 sides to share - mashed potato, steamed broccoli and french fries. The mashed potato was very garlicky and that's how I liked it. Was it worth $7? Not in my opinion. The server told us their french fries were house made, but seriously, it's nothing special. The steamed broccoli was simply steamed broccoli, but it cost $8!! I was very impressed with the main entree, but was extremely underwhelmed by the sides. If they are charging $7+ extra for the sides, at least produce something out of ordinary.

Onto the service. Our server was very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu items. However, on the whole, the service was quite slow. We made a reservation at 8:30pm, and yet we didn't get seated till almost 8:45pm. The food didn't come out as quickly as I'd have liked as well (perhaps it just seemed longer as I was starving).

Would I come back again? Probably once in a blue moon to celebrate a rare occasion. However, in my opinion, I definitely prefer Hy's steakhouse over Gotham. The meat was equally great there (from my distant memory), and the price was a tag more reasonable at Hy's.

Great ambiance, fun knowledgeable wait staff, superb porterhouse,  extensive wine list- selected an 08 Blue Mountain Stripe Reserve Okanagon pinot to complement steaks and we were not disappointed. Arrived at 6:30 on a Tuesday and when we left 2 hours later the restaurant was full so others apparently agree it's a great venue

I welcomed in the new year here..
party of four, we all left happy.
I am a vegetarian, and still found many options. Had a huge salad, and veggies
    Fresh ingredients.
    A very friendly waiter
My friends enjoyed their prime rib, only complaint was there wasn't any au-jus with it.
The tuna appetizer was really nice apparently....

I'm not a huge meat eater but will crave for a good steak once in a blue moon. When the rare occasion calls, Gothams is the only one to go to. Don't waste your calorie on mediocre steak houses. I only eat filet mignon, and can be rest assured that it will be served just how I like it to be. Good quality meat.

The crab cakes are one of the best I have tasted for an appetizer.  Oysters was just ok.  For my steak, I had the porterhouse medium rare with the bone.  It was excellent and so filling.  Sides were the cream of spinach which were good and not too creamy, the spicy sautéed mushrooms, and the mashed potatoes.  I also like the bread with the garlic butter.  For dessert the toffee sticky pudding was the best.   Food was excellent and the decor was nice and class.

The service was excellent.  For a steakhouse it was very casual service, the server was not a typical older gentlemen, there was some genuine chit-chat but not too much or over the top like you would get at a bar, but I felt the place was very manly but yet class enough to be fine dining.  Hope you got some bank because the prices are up there but it's worth it for fine food and service.

This is a great steakhouse.  The other and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner here. We started at the bar with manhatten and a Martini.  The music from the piano was very enjoyable.  The guy playing is great.

We were then seated at a great table in the dinning room.  We enjoyed a very nice bottle of wine with our steaks.  I had the bone in Rib eye, the other had the bone in new york.  They were great steaks.  Our server was helpful and spot on with service.

We ended the night back in the bar listening to that great piano and enjoying a Sambucca.

We look forward to our return to Vancouver BC, as we will be having dinner again at Gotham.

Took the boyfriend here for his last birthday, and what a meal we had. Right off the bat, service was exceptional. Hostess was sweet, apologized for the noise (there was a group of loud ppl in the bar pre-drinking for a night out, but they left shortly) and offered us a quiet booth away from the bar. Our server was awesome; No 19 yr old bimbos dressed to maximize their tips here! He was hands-down the best server I've ever had in every aspect, plus his crumb sweeper razor thing was pretty cool ;) Both steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection, and were just fantastic. The waitor told us before we ate to flip the steaks over to let the juices run back down into the meat, and lemme tell you, I've never had anything as delicious as the steak from Gotham. I don't remember what cut it was, maybe the Petit Filet? Whatever. It was exceptional. The bread that comes before the meal was up to par with the rest of their offerings, and the sides we had were sensational. I can not stop raving about this restaurant.

3.5 stars, with the extra half to service.

As far as steak houses go, this one is supposed to be one of the pinnacles.  It's definitely up there, but I don't consider their steaks to be exceptional enough to warrant anything above 3 stars.

Maybe my palate is not sophisticated enough for the various delicate nuances of steaks?  If it ain't rubbery, it gets my seal of approval. That said, I have had steaks at home BBQs that were much more tender than any of the steaks I've had here.

Service was certainly up there in terms of attentiveness.

Atmosphere?  Dimly lit, white tablecloths, dark wood, private rooms are available that are also......... dark wood.   I swear, it's like a man cave in there.  There were the odd times that I've seen, hate to use the word, but....older BIMBOS, hanging onto the arms of older grey haired men. Could  it have been just a bimbo night?  Maybe the more hipster term today is SKANK, but I digress.....

It's worth a visit or two for the experience of just trying it out.

Absolutely amazing, was here for a work dinner which was good and I was also trying to do work downstairs in the bar between courses or when I received an email from overseas. Rebecca, our waitress downstairs, was attentive and friendly without encroaching.
Really enjoyed this meal, wish I could have done it without the continuous interruptions from workmates overseas.

We back there for dinner 8 months after.  I found a bit disappointed this time, the waitress was not professional at all.  She asked us if we have any question about the menu or steak.  She gave us 2 glasses of champagne then forgot to give us the water.

The appetizers were ok, just a bit salty on my crab cakes.  The filet mignon was very salty as well, She didn't came and ask us about the food.

The porterhouse steak was fine but the portion much smaller than used to be.

Made reservations for my honey's birthday here at Gotham. Service friendly, a romantic setting for fine dinning with your loved one. With a pianist in the background to help set the mood.

    The menu

    Fresh oysters
    Beefsteak tomato and red onion
    Sautéed mushrooms
Roasted Prime rib - Alberta beef

Oysters are fresh which melted and dissipated in my mouth.

Salad beefsteak tomato and onion was my favorite. Succulent and juicy tomato mixed with crumbled blue cheese and beefsteak with a vinaigrette dressing.

A recommendation to taste their Alberta beef. The bite and taste is very smooth. No taste of grain. A fresh taste to Alan's palate.

I bet Batman loves steak. Yeah, you know the caped crusader can devour a porterhouse, no sidekick necessary, But would Bruce Wayne, darling of high society, eat at this Gotham?

Would he entertain friends and foes in the private clubhouse room? I could recommend him Ryan, the knowledgable server with a patience for patrons grilling him over steak cuts and sizes. Would he enjoy a starter of garlic grilled prawns with a tomato and cream sauce?  Not even the Dark Knight could resist ordering extra, freshly baked bread to dip and lick his fingers in delight.

Maybe his date ordered the petit filet, did she find it initially delicious but then disappointingly fatty too? What a shame. Hopefully he saved the day by ordering one or two very drinkable bottles of wine.

A real superhero orders the cauliflower gratin, a cheesey decadent dish of food seduction. After a meal like this, well, dessert is back at the bat lair.

It's okay if you're not a masked avenger, but you might need the trust fund of a playboy to pay for this dinner.

What a disappointment.  What I was told by locals is not what was delivered at Gotham Steakhouse.

What I experienced was mediocre service at best.  In fact, I would say that the table next to us received better service as the waiter actually smiled with them, and not with us.  What, because we're all guys at the table?

The steaks, and there was a gamut of stuff put on our table.  A bit of everything from the menu was ordered by the 7 of us.  Again, all mediocre.

The bone-in ribeye was not the best, not even great.  Okay flavor, quite a bit of fat around the edges and on the bone making a good portion of the steak inedible.

The lamb chop disappointing, not the strong lamb flavor I'm used to or even any good seasoning on it.  Other than some salt still on the bones themselves.

The grilled tomato misleading, should have called it garlic and balsamic resting on a tomato, as that is all you could taste.

I could go on...  But as Yelp goes, "Meh. I've experienced better."

I would have loved to see other types of meat on the menu, you know cuts that have more  flavor...  Hanger, Flank, Skirt.   Or some odds and ends like sweetbreads and tongue.  I would have liked the quality of the meat to improve some, the seasonings punched up, and the sides revisited and refined.

I wont be going back there.  Nor would I recommend it to others for a while...

I'm disappointed in myself for not reviewing this restaurant earlier than now because it's been almost over a year since the last time i dined here.

My first experience at this restaurant was during the Winter Olympics last year (2010) and I was VERY impressed! I may be biased because we knew our server personally, but he wasn't the chef or the interior decorator and i was loving everything about this place. Dark romantic lighting, spacious yet intimate. We ended up waiting in the bar and enjoyed a couple drinks before being seated in the main dining area and I would have been just fine staying put. The live Piano player and large cushy couches were very inviting and set a nice ambiance.

We got the royal treatment from our server, Chris, who is fabulous!! Steak Tar Tar (to die for), Prawns, Asparagus, Broccoli, Mashed Potatoes, Lamp Chops, Filet Mignon.. it was insane how much food we got, and you better believe I licked my plate clean! One of the best steaks I have yet to experience. Every cut we were served was juicy, tender and delicious!!!

The only thing, and i mean the ONLY thing that i didn't care for, was the location for the restrooms. Even though it's kind of a fun adventure walking down the spiral staircase that's set up next to the kitchen that leads down to the bathrooms, it's a little risky in heels, nonetheless after a few glasses of wine. But that won't stop me from ever going back.

Highly recommended for a romantic date night!!

    1.  The most overrated steak house I've ever been to.
    2.  The service is very good.  It is old school steak house service.
    3.  The room is a very nice space.  Overall, the ambiance is very comfortable.
    4.  The steaks are poor.
      - The quality of the meat does not meet the expectations of high end steak houses.
     - In general, the steaks I've had there were salty.
     - Something in the cooking process leads to a oily tough steak.
    5.  None of the sides are particularly good and I've tried several.
    6.  Considering the overall quality of the food, it is very overpriced.
    7.  Wrap up - good service, great ambiance, expensive but very poor food.
    8.  Honestly, in San Francisco, Chicago, New York or Toronto, Gotham would not last a year.  Yet for some reason, it is a staple in Vancouver.  I would suggest saving your money and just get the Baseball steak at the Keg.

Gotham was great the first time I went. Back in 2003. It was a Wednesday, and everything was done perfectly. I dreamed about my buttery steak and the beefsteak tomatoes. Since then, they have never been able to match that experience. I was welcomed back time and again with mediocre steaks, poor quality sides, and unpredictable service.

I've had much better steak and overall experience in other cities.

But, one night a few years ago it took a turn for the worse which made me never go back. Reader discretion is advised. A friend in from out of town, special occasion, let's spend some money, you know the drill. We were 8 strong and seated in the lounge because we did not have reservations. That's not a problem. It was comfortable nonetheless. Somehow my girlfriend's necklace broke and beads spilled on to the floor. It was dark and the waiter came over to offer help. He returned with a flashlight and left. Bad mistake. That flashlight opened a window into a world more suited for Mike Rowe. Mouse traps, dead mice and other bits of unknown things lurked under the couches. Chilling. That discovery didn't seem to matter too much to him. We were too shocked to stick around and complain. We paid our hefty bill and vowed never to go back.

I've only been to Gotham once and the quality of the food was fairly good.  Even the service staff were friendly enough and yes, the cheese bread is a great way to exponentially boost the calories that come with the dish.  But for me, the tragic part of Gotham was its clientele.  I suppose if you're 27, love Ed Hardy, and plan on hitting the Roxy after dinner, Gotham is your step up from the Keg.  Perhaps I'm far too disconnected (read: old) to get it but I'll join Father and step over to Hy's for my Angus vittles.  Not only is the food and service exceptional, Hy's patrons are slightly more dignified.  And by 'dignified' I mean to say that you won't see them wearing Tap Out gear.

I almost never go for high end steak while home in Vancouver. Usually I prefer the steak from classic independent steakhouses while traveling in the US. If I get the craving while here at home, it's Gotham if I want something special.

The steak there is very good, the service is top notch. On my last visit there with my 10 year old daughter, the server suggested that we share a New York Steak & Lobster. It came perfectly cooked medium rare and was split onto 2 plates for us. It was just enough food for the two of us with the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. The perfect way to finish a night of hectic Christmas shopping.

    the service was phenomenal.

the place could use a little more light (although i'm sure the darkness has something to do with why it's called "gotham", adding to its ambiance or something) - luckily our server carried around a little pocket-light (note: amazing service), which allowed my poor, old dad to see his menu properly.

the food was pretty good too. i had the lobster and fillet minion, and at those prices, you can't really fuck it up too badly, or else you'd be out of business.

we were able to order smaller portions of the sides at a cheaper price (again, amazing service) so we could try more than one side.

i had the belgian chocolate bourbon cake for dessert, with a scoop of ice cream (which the server especially added for me), which was to die for.

I like nice steakhouses, and Gotham is one.

    Dark lighting, nice furniture--check.
    Uniformed, professional waiters--check.
    Solid wine list--check.
    Oversized Caesar Salad--check.
    Oversized Spinach Salad--check.
Warm, tasty housemade bread that you stupidly fill up on while waiting for your food--check.
All your favorite shared steakhouse sides (garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, grilled asparagus, saudade mushrooms)--check.
Ridiculously oversized but exceptionally tasty 24oz. Porterhouse--check.
And a really good red Spanish wine I forgot the name of.

All around a solid, enjoyable classic steakhouse experience.

One odd thing though about the done-ness of the steaks. Don't know if this is a Gotham thing, a Canada thing, or what, but our group of American, Australian and Japanese carnivores all found the steaks to be one level of done-ness above what we expected, e.g., I ordered medium rare, but got what I would usually call medium, etc. Would recommend asking them how they interpret various levels of done-ness when you order.

I was in Vancouver for about five days on vacation, and we went here for dinner twice.  That should say a lot about this place.

The service was good, although the waitstaff are subject to rather unfortunate white uniforms that make them look like a crew of mad scientists (or, as one of our waitresses described them, "doctors or fun").  Everyone was attentive and friendly.

Not surprisingly, the best part about Gotham was the steak.  I had the petit filet the first time and the standard filet the second and I ate every last scrap of both.  They were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned, and they've been my measure of a perfect steak ever since.

The sides were good, but they were definitely overshadowed by the meat.  The hashbrowns were alright, but not great (or maybe I was just spoiled by growing up with homemade latkes).  The potatoes lyonnaise were quite tasty.

I've always felt places with Euro-faux names like Oné or Vomi (it's not hard to make them up) are a bit out of place in Vancouver. If we all lived in Zoolander's world as supermodels with names like Shaniqua deBauvier or Chastity laFontaine, they would be more fitting.

Oh, would that glorious fantasy become reality! Until then Gotham serves up high quality food with hearty class- just as its name suggests. Everyone, from the suave greeter to the sincere servers to the stylish piano player, enjoys their work and it shows. There's no kowtowing or forced cheerfulness here.

The food quality is top drawer and the bartender is world class. My friend and I stuffed ourselves on salty, bubbling cheese toast (I suspect the same recipe as at their sister eatery, Hy's),  piles of crisp calamari, a half bottle of wine, plus a martini- on the house! Our bill came to just under $60.

One star reluctantly omitted because I haven't tried their steak yet. But oh, I shall be back soon. And on second thought, call me Shaniqua.

Wow, I've never been more glad to be a carnivore than I was when I had the rib eye here. Grilled and seasoned perfectly, the steak was of a magnificated gloriousity that only Don King can adequately describe. Perhaps most awesome of all was when a friend at the table sheepishly and discreetly requested a bottle of ketchup from the waiter, he replied, "Don't worry about it, sir; we get asked for that all the time!"

This place is tops. Best steak I've had by far, and that includes dinners at Ruth's Chris (a very close second) and Harris' in San Francisco, and The Keg in Yaletown.

After a long day at the bars with my buddy, and a short nap (in separate beds), we awoke to the ring of the telephone reminding us that we had a reservation at Gotham. We got up, got dressed and caught a cab there. We arrived and were promptly seated.

The decor and ambiance were great, nice low lighting, and from what I could tell, beautiful people! We were given a menu and wine list and ordered our drinks. We perused through the menu and I decided to go with the bone in rib eye. My buddy got a new york cut. We also ordered some creamed spinach and began our drinking binge for the night. The waiter came by a number of time to refill our drinks/water and also to enlighten us on the process they used to age their meats. He was very knowledgeable and very friendly, although he was a tiny bit creepy. He'd

When the food came out, it looked wonderful and delicious and the portion size was very generous. The steaks were large and thick, perfectly cooked, rare for us both and the meat was soooooo tender. We ate, and ate, and ate and in the end, had to take some if it back to the hotel.

Now, the reason I gave it a 4 was that it really doesnt differentiate itself from any other good $$$$ steakhouse. Great food, good service great ambiance. Overall a good experience.

The service there was incredible, the steak was DELICIOUS and mouth watering. Best steakhouse I have ever been to!

We ordered fresh oysters as the appetizer. It came in six small pieces - only because it really depends on the daily selection. Sometimes it's bigger, sometimes the oysters are smaller. It came on a iced platter with sides of Tabasco sauce, horseradish, and I think the last one was Mariana sauce? Overall, the oysters appetizer was good but I don't know if it's worth it.

I love their bone-in rib steak I went with the smaller portion and it was still huge, 14oz of good meat. I chose their bone-in rib steak only because I like a bit of fat in my steak. Not many people like that, but I think it's delicious! :)

For our sides, we ordered mash potato with garlic and sauteed mushrooms with onions, the waiter told us each side dish is good to share and he was right. Two steak entrees and two side dishes was more than enough for two people.

If you are craving for some good steak (nothing compared to The Keg, Earl's, etc) and you feel like doing some fine-dining in a classy environment with dark lighting, I highly recommend Gotham! Remember to make reservations before hand.

Worst steak tartare ever -- we think they made it with mayo instead of a fresh egg.  And it came with half a hard boiled egg instead of a raw egg.  There was a big piece of anchovy on top instead of mixed into the marinade.  Few capers and couldn't taste any onions.  It tasted like egg salad.  They should learn to make steak tartare from scratch.

The Alaskan King crab was spongy, rubbery (overcooked), and not fresh.

    Spinach salad was solid.

There were problems with the service.  The servers -- perhaps this is because we were seated in the bar area -- don't seem knowledgeable about food or the menu.   For instance, one didn't know what oysters are available.  And the salad, steak tartare, and crab legs were brought out at the same time, making the table cramped and us wondering how warm the crab would be after we finish the salad.  We asked why they didn't course the meal and their response was disturbing -- "we can take the crab back and warm it up for you later."  Er, no, you can't do that to crab.  At that point, we decided to skip the ribeye.

Iaf Gotham is Vancouver's best steakhouse, I'll stick to El Gaucho and The Met in Seattle for steak.

Being someone who travels for business a lot, and is generally on my own, I have a thing for restaurants which have bar areas which also make dining a pleasurable experience.

Gotham Steak House is definitely one of those places.  Too often bartenders are disconnected with the kitchens that serve them, not knowing the specials, or even having a good understanding of the menu.  My companion on the other side was a skilled expert in both the food and wine offerings.  He was able to offer tasting notes on many of the wines, both which were by the glass as well as those in bottles.  He also made a great Manhattan.

My appetizer was the Ahi Tuna, which was melt in your mouth goodness.  I would have preferred a little less Cajun spice, but the fish was of fantastic quality.  A smaller portion, don't look to share this appetizer if you aren't ordering others.

My only complaints at this point is the noise, what could be a quiet and relaxing bar is routinely interrupted by the blending of frozen beverages and grinding of espresso beans.  While not drinking bear on this visit, I'd also suggest to the establishment to find selections a little more upscale than Coors and Canadian.

Following up the appetizer was fresh wedge salad.  A simple choice, but Gotham executed this well with crisp iceberg lettuce, thousand island dressing, and blue cheese crumble.

Next up, the main event.  A great selection of steaks to choose from, as well as fish, pork and chicken.  I opted for the small rib-eye with a small side of asparagus.  While all sides are a la carte and meant for sharing, smaller portions are available for single diners.  It was  recommended medium, to which I agreed.  Rib-eyes being so well marbled, can take, and I believe need, a little more heat to help melt the fat into the meat.   It was good to see that the automatic programmed response of medium-rare wasn't in place for the staff here.

The steak was amazing.  I'm rating it the 3rd best rib-eye I've ever had.

While definitely not the cheapest option around town, Gotham Steakhouse is a place I'd return to in a heartbeat.

NB: my visit was on a Sunday night.  There is live music in the lounge on Monday to Saturday, which I hope to enjoy next time I'm in.

Seriously overrated as a steak house.  Gotham was great when it first opened but these days the value for the quality of the service and food is questionable.

Steaks really are not too terribly hard to do and many steakhouses do a fine job of selecting the right cuts and cooking them well.   If you're in the mood for a great steak I'd suggest saving a few bucks and going to a place like the Keg.

I am only giving this steak house 5 stars because being from the Midwest I can say that for this steakhouse being Canada they serve a pretty damn good steak. I had a 27oz porterhouse medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Their wine list is impressive too. I also loved the fact that the staff there was very polite and accepting of my three toddlers.

If you want a really great steak in Vancouver, this is the place to go.  It's no pricier than a fancy steak joint in any other city.  But be prepared for a healthy bill.  Great wine selection also.  And the staff couldn't be nicer.  We abused our waitress (we had a bachelor party table of 12), and she took it with great stride and joined right in, giving it as good as getting it.

Go for the Fillet, Chicago style.  It was cooked a true medium rare per my request(they grill it and char it on the outside). Oyster apps were wonderful.  Lettuce Wedge salad with Blue cheese was classic.  One of the best steaks i have ever had.

I love the interior, but I love all steakhouse interiors! Went here on a business dinner & glad I didn't pay! Started with a drink in the lounge & then went on to dinner. I still am searching for the perfect steak in Vancouver. I didn't find it here.

Started with oysters. Excellent! Really fresh & good. We both ordered steak & lobster (filets) with Bearnaise sauce. Also ordered lyonnaise potatoes & asparagus for sides. I have to say the potatoes were my favourite dish of the night! The steaks were just o.k. The best filet I ever had melted in my mouth, this was no where close to that. In fact, we both left a good size of the steak on the plate and trust me, those filets were small! The Bearnaise was good, asparagus good.

Bill came to about $400 with bottle & half of wine. I enjoyed dinner but have to say I was sorely disappointed in the steak. I would certainly give it another try - if I wasn't paying...

Expectations were high for this place.. .and they succeeded.

Word around the street was that this was the best steakhouse in Vancouver, so I had to check it out and I brought the troops with me.  It was the last meal for a great bachelor party weekend and it was pleasurable experience from start to finish.

Our waiter assisted us with a selection of red wines which were very good (but to be honest I am not an connoisseur.. so take as you wish)

As for starters, the steak tartar was amazing and the oysters were succulent.

Most of the group had the bone-in ribeye medium rare which was as delectable as some of the self-proclaimed best steakhouses (I'm from New York)  Tender, juicy, and thick.  Cooked perfectly.  I did get a glimpse of the filet mignon which I would have been happy with.

Sides (if you have the appetite): the standard creamed spinach and asparagus were great but the home fried potatoes were just ok.

Overall, a great steakhouse in Van-city which I will definitely return too.
