This gym is filled with sexy people AND they know it!

That's because this particular GoodLife is a fantastic gym and conveniently located for the Bay Street working crowd looking to their sweat on after the 9-5 grind.

Clean, extremely spacious and well-ventilated; this gym has a great layout whether you looking to pump some iron, or run a mile.

There is a vast assortment of top-of-the-line equipment and one of the best working-Abs stations I've seen at any other GoodLife.  The cycling studio is large and temperature-controlled which is comfort for any rider.

What is unique about this GoodLife is the addition of a Hot Yoga Studio (**Warning - classes are an additional cost on top of your membership) and an open field-like training area called the 'Turf Zone'.

Whichever way you are looking to shed those inevitable extra Yelper pounds;  there is something for everyone at this location.

I've been to good number of gyms within Canada+US past few years (cause i moved a lot) and Goodlife is probably the best one so far. I believe it's been only few days over a month since the opening day so this is a very new gym. I know you go to the gym to work out but cleanliness is very important to me and Goodlife is always very clean.
I am not a crazy weight lifting person nor do I participate in their classes so I can't really make comments on that, but if you just want to jog and maybe do some
light weights- this is the gym for you. They have many different options for your workout and I guarantee there will always be a machine for you.

Location is very convenient and they have huge changing/washroom/shower/sauna downstairs. I can't say all the staff are friendly but few of them actually says hello and what not. 4 massage chairs in the corner are just added plus. They are the nicest massage chair I've ever sat in! Their busy hour (from what I know) seems to be around 5~7ish when everyone gets off work.

Also keep in mind that they are only 24hours from Monday to Friday night. Friday they close at 10, Saturday and Sunday they close at 8.

I had to try it really, especially considering the fanfare around the recent opening.  The hot weather and the lack of air conditioning in my home gym (McCaul-I swear it was hotter inside than outside) provided the perfect excuse to give this gym a trial run.

It really is lovely.  The front desk staff are friendly and the first impression is one of openness-the ceilings are high and the main floor is wide.  The locker rooms are a quick escalator ride downstairs and are very pleasant indeed-plenty of lockers, a few mirrors with areas to do make-up etc and showers.  The showers are actually clean with real doors.  I wouldn't even feel like I should probably be using antibacterial soap in them!

Downstairs also houses a hot yoga studio, aerobics studio, boxing studio, massage/chiropractor clinic and the turf zone.  I loved the idea of the turf zone and it's got lots of shiny toys to play with (including ropes, kettlebells)...but only if you've hired one of their trainers.  Sigh.

The main gym floor upstairs is expansive and crammed full of machines.  They have their GoodLife Fit Fix set of machines in one corner-I wonder if anyone will use them here?   Cardio machines are plentiful and have individual TVs.  They also have a nice selection of brands-Precor and Octane ellipticals, Cybex arc trainers, Stairmaster stairmills, Life Fitness steppers, Precor AMTs, spinning bikes, exercise bikes with games, rowers, Life Fitness treadmills.  Lots and lots!

Strength-wise they have many many machines as usual.  The free weights section is rather cramped and full of benches.  I was glad to see they'd included a glute ham raise though.  That could be fun!  I also saw a rope trainer which I need to try.  There's a separate stretching area which has lots of mats and is home to the stability balls and foam rollers.  A sizeable central portion of the floor is taken up by a TRX multimount station, weights and kettlebells.  This is cordoned off for personal training only.

Fun extras include massage chairs and computers.  There is a large selection of trainers so I'm sure you'd find one to suit your needs if you wanted.

    *Positives:  Clean and spacious
                        Lovely selection of cardio machines
                        Fun extras like massage chairs
                        24 hours Mon-Thurs

*Negatives:  -Weights area is too cramped with very little free floor  space.  It was really difficult to find a free corner to just do my own thing.
-I couldn't find a step to do step-ups so had to put my grubby shoes on a bench instead.  It would also make sense to have a selection of stability balls (especially small ones which are in short supply), medicine balls and mats in the strength/free weights section.  It's not always either/or.  I suspect things will get thrown all over the place as it is.
-Much space is given over to personal training only.   I'd love to afford it and I'm sure their clients have great fun-but why take away all that floor?  And why keep it blocked off when no training sessions are happening?  They must realise that fitness is tending towards functional training, free weights etc...yet they deprive the everyday customer of it.
-Despite the big 24 HOURS splashed all over the place (in lettering that is almost as tall as me on the front), it's only 24 hours Monday through Thursday.  It closes at 10pm on Friday and weekend hours are 8-8pm.  The hours are decent but not really exceptional, frankly.

    In summary:
I really liked it!  It's very very good.  I'm thinking 4.5 stars maybe.  A little tweaking could potentially bring it to 5!

I attended the grand opening and what a gym! Finally, a gym worth writing home about :)  They have finally closed the old Eaton Centre South location (that's really tired looking) and moved the operations to this location only a 2 minute walk (200m/650 ft) down the street while the north gym is still in operation.  This new spot definitely will be GoodLife's flagship location right in the core to meet the need of the fitness crowd.  I got 2 friends to join the new gym, met "Patch" Evans (founder and CEO of GoodLife), saw some current members and we're all looking forward to using this terrific facility.  It's a big, bright and well designed 45,000 sq. ft. emporium on 2 levels.  Open 24 hours Mondays-Thursday and great hours on weekends too.  Plasma TV's everywhere including a lounge with massage chairs... just need a server to bring me a dinner menu :D dang, I could move in and live here :P

An aerobics studio that holds 100 members, spinning studio with 50 bikes, endless number of amazing machines (some that I've not seen before at any other gym), individual TV screens and much more (plus 3 hanging heavy bags for the boxers/kickboxers).   The weight room could probably be a bit bigger but it's not really designed for the gorillas so it is sufficient for the typical fitness club member right up to those who can handle 100 lb dumbells.  Even the showers are nicer than some condos or hotels, steam and sauna rooms.  Your normal user pay stuff like hot yoga (unique latex flooring), a tanning room, and full health spa facility are available.

Glad it's so close to both my home and work but I'll wait a couple of weeks until the euphoria dies down as it will likely be very crowded.   Doesn't matter if you're a beginner, fitness buff or die hard, there is something for everyone but maybe not the super hardcore or pros as they'll need more specialized training but for 95% of the masses this is the place to get in or to stay in shape!  If you haven't figured it out by now, this is gym heaven for a guy who likes his gym bright, clean and full service facility.  If my past experience with GoodLife Fitness Clubs are any indication, their service is pretty decent.  Looking forward to using this gym and welcoming any Yelper's to drop in for a tour.

UPDATE: Apparently if you have a question about a machine no one can help you? Staff are required to stay at the front desk, and they don't know how to work the machines. Really good service...not! For safety reasons there should be at least one staff member who knows how to work the machines! I'm contemplating going to the Yorkville Club, the reviews seem amazing.
