Review from Amanda A.
Toronto, ON
Okay, I have been exercising here for about 6 weeks so I think it is finally fair to review it. I have been to many Goodlife Fitness clubs, and I am currently using 2 locations. This is my favourite, by far.
This is a Women's Only centre and located above a Canadian Super Store.
Pros:
- Staff are friendly
- The club is always clean
- Great selection of classes
- The instructors at said classes are awesome
- The music isn't too loud or repetitive
- Lots of equipment, you never find yourself waiting to use a machine
- Child care (for those who are interested)
- Being above a grocery store makes it very easy to grab something for dinner on the way out.
Cons:
- Some classes get very full. Thursday night Zumba and Sunday morning Body Pump are the worst offenders. Obviously, the classes are awesome, but it is hard being new in such a full class. You have to show up 15 minutes early to set up your Body Pump station in a decent spot.
- During this crazy class time, the change rooms get crazy and lockers are limited. I don't really know what they could do to change this, but I had to mention it.
- The ready made food section in the SuperStore is right at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the gym. After leaving the gym, you get a waft of BBQ chicken or whatever other hot food and it is very tempting to go eat all of your calories back. -

I came to this location from purchasing a dealfind voucher for 1 month of unlimited group classes. When me and my friend arrived we were basically pressured to get a membership and we were specifically told by the sales person Latoya that we had 30 days to cancel it without a charge and if after that deadline we decided to cancel we would pay $59 which is the initiation fee that was originally waived by the dealfind voucher. According to that information me and my friend decided to keep the membership. But as time grew we realized it wasn't worth keeping since we had busy schedules and were moving farther then the location. We went to go cancel the membership in which i had to make an appt with the manager she said that they needed a 30 days notice in advance (i dont understand how that makes a difference whether i tell them i want it cancelled 30 days from now) and that the cost was $99 to cancel i mentioned her what the sale rep had told me. She went to go talk to the sales rep and say the individual is suddenly `busy`in the office and for us to call head office. We were pretty much lied to by the rep just to make a sale we were told verbally this is how it would be and on contract it represented nothing of that sort. The sales rep Latoya was hiding in the office the whole time this ordeal was currently going on to avoid the situation and when i confronted her she decided to claim that she said $59 plus first and last.
Either way, that place is a complete rip off stay away and keep your money in your pocket. -

The wonderful benefit of having a Good Life membership is that you can use the services of any gym!
As mentioned by the previous poster, this location is one of the very, very few women's only club. It is inside the Loblaw's at Eglinton and Don Mills. I find the staff to be very friendly, especially the lady at the front who swipes your card. In addition, I love the fact that there is unlimited parking! As I usually go after work, I have my car with me and it's a *female dog* to find parking.
All good things must come to an end and it is no different for this Good Life. I find that as soon as I walk in there is a stench - perhaps this is due to poor circulation of air within the gym? Further, they do not offer towel service, which defeats the purpose of paying for it.
All in all, I come here for the convenience of parking and the fact that it's close to my work.
