Review from Diana L.
Goodlife is one of a kind. I wish there were more locations.
Top 5 reasons Goodlife is amazing:
1) You never have to wait for a machine because there are so many.
2) There is no time limit for using any machine.
3) Dirt cheap tanning.
4) The classes are the bomb! (yes, the bomb!) There's a huge variety of classes, too.
5) There is daycare for all the parents who need it.
There are a lot of other perks to attending this gym, such as individual TVs on each machine and a friendly staff. It is well worth the membership (if you actually get off your butt and exercise). -

Tried it out. Easily the best gym I have been to - and I have had memberships at the YMCA, Steve Nash, Fitness World and Sport Central. It is far cleaner than any of these with ample parking and workout space, and, at the times that I went, virtually empty with huge amounts of equipment. Unlike Steve Nash/Fitness world, they did not offer me any discounts or assistance in getting me reasonable pricing and wanted something north of $60 per month for a membership, while Nash was willing to go down to below $40, so needless to say I never came back.

I was a member of this gym for about 6 months. The gym itself is very clean and there is a lot of variety in terms of weight training equipment. There are plenty of cardio machines to use even during peak hours. Still doesn't match 24 hr fitness in arcadia (my favorite gym of all time) but it does the job.
The reason why i left? I joined Club16 which is 45 bucks cheaper and from the looks of it douchebaggery isn't a problem.. .YET.
The customer service at GoodLife Fitness sucks balls save for two nice girls at the front desk who's names i forgot. If those two girls aren't working there always seems to be 10 ppl at the front desk just chit chatting not caring that i need something taken care of. And when they do care to ask they make it seem like im an inconvenience.
The trainers for the most part are cool. There are, however, two male trainers who are the absolute definition of douches. There's this one trainer who i find EVERY MORNING staring at himself in the mirror. For a good 2-5 mins. just standing there. He doesn't even have hair so i dont know why he's always touching his head. And he's rude as f*ck.
So basically it's like going to high school again.
If you don't mind that kind of atmosphere where customer service is lacking then its a pretty nice gym. But i like it at Club 16.. its a great gym.. cheaper and the people there are great.
Also Luke at GoodLife is a cool dude. If you need something go to Luke. -

first of all, it's a new fitness place so everything was pretty much in a good condition. Big. clean. what not. But the workers attitude toward customers were the WORST. Apparently my sister was using the free-trial for a week under HER name. She was using her student id card for the past few days to get in. but today, one of the lady in the front counter said she needed a government-issued card in order for my sister to get in. I understood in a way although they probably have my sister's paper. (the people who's using the trial need to fill out some papers writing their address, phone number with a signature) But the thing that made me walk out of this gym was when my sister went inside to call my brother who was already in, working out. The lady said she was going to call people if she doesn't come out immediately. It almost felt as if the lady was being racist to say such a thing to a 13-year old girl who's been coming to this gym for the last few days. even if something were to happen "Me and my Mom" were there to supervise her. I wouldn't feel as offended if any of the worker gave a hint to my sister to bring her government-issued card with her for the past few days WHEN she was in the gym working out with her student id. I couldn't believe we had to waste our time to come all the way there. To obtain a membership, people need to sign a one to two-year contract. By all means, every members in this fitness are VIPs and should be treated like one of them. if they treat their customers in this sort of disturbing way, personally i wouldn't recommend ANYONE to go to this gym, rather tell them to just go to a community center for a friendly service or even tell them to walk around a park. My mom is even planning on canceling the contract, and i'm NEVER planning on coming back here. ever.

Well, it's a big new place that is 24 hours, which is not the norm for gyms in the Lower Mainland. Averaging $60 a month makes this place very expensive, so if money is no object, great. If you're on a budget, like the masses, hit the Planet Fitness chain a mere block down when they advertise their retro rates, which will run about $19 a month. Par for the course, the GoodLife sales folks were aggressive. As with any fitness facility that requires long-term contractual commitments, google the complaints so you know what you are getting into.
